Abstract

Teaching the concept of divinity in Islam, which tends to be abstract, to preschool children is a challenge, given their immature cognitive modalities. To this end, this article explores teachers' approaches and narrative models used in providing divinity education to Muslim children. Semi-structured interviews with Muslim teachers who have more than one year of experience teaching preschool children show that the approaches and narrative models used by the teachers vary widely and tend to be eclectic. Teachers tend to introduce and relate children to the concept of divinity through habituation and religious terms rather than teaching the concept of divinity in detail to children. The approaches used by teachers are linguistic and habituation approaches. The narratives used are body analogies, natural phenomena, simple associations, and chants or nadzam (Arabic poetry) that are recited and memorized together. These findings make an important contribution to the development of contextualized and developmentally appropriate divinity education methods in an Islamic cultural environment.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to analyze the application of the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model in school religious programs, focusing on identifying factors that affect the effectiveness and utilization of evaluation results for program development. The background of this research is the importance of comprehensive evaluation in religious education programs to ensure the achievement of goals that are by the vision and needs of students.Methodology—This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to review and analyze 34 articles published between 2015 and 2024 on applying the CIPP model in religious programs at various levels of education. The analysis is carried out on a thematic basis to identify the main themes that emerge from the articles.Findings – Key findings suggest that the CIPP model provides a holistic evaluation of religious programs, covering aspects of context, inputs, processes, and products that allow for identifying strengths and weaknesses in each stage of program implementation. Factors that affect the program's effectiveness include the quality of human resources, facilities, learning methods, and the involvement of stakeholders such as teachers and parents. The results of this evaluation are used to improve the program's quality, for example, through teacher training, improvement of teaching methods, and the use of technology in learning.Significance—This study is significant because it provides insight for education managers, especially in schools that implement religious programs, to implement CIPP model-based evaluations to increase the effectiveness and sustainability of religious programs in schools.

Abstract

Islamic education in Indonesia holds a unique position alongside general education institutions. According to BPS data, the number of Islamic educational institutions and students is about 50% less than that of general education institutions. This research aims to formulate a more inclusive and visionary orientation for Islamic education. Utilizing a literature study method, this research examines several books, journals, hadith, and related verses, supported by explanations from various tafsir books. The study highlights the importance of addressing the worldly goals of humans within Islamic education, emphasizing the need to accommodate the basic needs of human life in the future. It proposes that inclusive and visionary Islamic education should focus on two key aspects: the competence and existence of students. To achieve this, it is essential to eliminate dichotomous barriers or dualism in its organization and policies. The study’s implications call for policies that ensure equal emphasis on both general and religious subjects in Islamic educational institutions, moving away from a two-path policy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of empathy, self-control, school climate, and self-compassion on cyberbullying in Islamic schools. This study uses a quantitative methodology, using a questionnaire that measures cyberbullying, empathy, self-control, school climate, and self-compassion. The population in this study consisted of 1,314 students, with a sample of 605 students drawn from two schools. The sampling technique was simple random sampling, and the analysis used LISREL SEM. The results show that empathy, self-control, school climate, and self-compassion influence cyberbullying. Empathy hurts cyberbullying. Self-control hurts cyberbullying. School climate hurts cyberbullying. Self-compassion hurts cyberbullying. This study shows that more people need to be aware of the dangers of cyberbullying. This research also has implications for starting intervention programs, school rules, and more research on how empathy, self-control, school climate, and self-compassion can help prevent students from becoming victims of cyberbullying. This study suggests that empathy, self-control, self-compassion, and a favorable school climate can be protective factors against cyberbullying among madrasah students. These findings imply the need to develop intervention programs and school policies that support strengthening these aspects to prevent cyberbullying.

Abstract

The education zoning policy in Indonesia is a new breakthrough by the government for equal distribution of the quality of education in all regions in Indonesia. The existence of an educational dichotomy marked by the labeling of favorite schools causes an imbalance in the distribution of quality and students in Indonesia. The education zoning policy has been in effect since 2017 and has undergone several technical changes in its implementation. This study uses a qualitative method, by applying a literature study model. The data collection is taken by data reduction model, data display, verification, and drawing conclusions. Even though the zoning policy has been in effect since 2017, issues regarding the quality of education and students are still an important area of discussion in the field of education in Indonesia. This is indicated by the imbalance in the number of new students in private schools and public schools as well as changes in the model of implementation of learning programs that have occurred since the zoning policy came into force. Therefore, the Indonesian government needs to improve the existing zoning policy system, so that the main objectives of the educational zoning policy can be properly realized.
