Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendekontruksikan makna simbolik logo Pendidikan tertinggi  swasta di kabupaten Pidie, yaitu Universitas Jabal Ghafur dan STAI Al-Hilal dengan pendekatan semiotic Ferdinand de Saussure.  Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan analisis terhadap signifier (penanda) dan signified (petanda). Data diperoleh melalui dokumentasi visual, observasi simbolik, dan kajian literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa logo kedua institusi memuat elemen visual yang mencerminkan nilai keislaman, intelektualitas, dan kearifan lokal. Logo Universitas Jabal Ghafur menghadirkan simbol bungong campli, bungong tanjong, reuhai, dan bungong awan yang melambangkan ilmu, kekuatan, dan kesejahteraan. Sementara logo STAI Al-Hilal Sigli menampilkan bulan sabit dan buku sebagai lambang religius dan keilmuan. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa hubungan antara penanda dan petanda bersifat dinamis dan kontekstual. Simbol-simbol tersebut menjadi representasi identitas dan filosofi institusi yang tidak tunggal, melainkan terbuka terhadap berbagai tafsir sosial-budaya.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of YouTube media, namely some of Omar and Hana's videos, on the speaking skills of children aged two years. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The study included three two-year-old children. This study's data was collected through observation, interviews, and table-formatted field notes. The findings revealed that Omar and Hana's film had an impact on the speaking skills of two-year-old youngsters. This is demonstrated by the subject's interest in some of Omar and Hana's films. YouTube is also rated as a language acquisition (vocabulary) learning medium for youngsters, hence it is possible to assume that YouTube media influences the speaking skills of two-year-olds.ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memeriksa pengaruh media YouTube, yaitu beberapa video Omar dan Hana, pada keterampilan berbicara anak-anak berusia dua tahun. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian ini melibatkan tiga anak berusia dua tahun. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui pengamatan, wawancara, dan catatan lapangan berformat tabel. Temuan ini mengungkapkan bahwa film Omar dan Hana memiliki dampak pada keterampilan berbicara anak-anak berusia dua tahun. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh minat subjek dalam beberapa film Omar dan Hana. YouTube juga dinilai sebagai media pembelajaran akupunktur bahasa (vocabulary) untuk anak-anak muda, oleh karena itu mungkin untuk mengasumsikan bahwa media YouTube mempengaruhi keterampilan berbicara anak berusia dua tahun.

Abstract

This study was designed to assess students' writing achievement in the third semester of the Syiah Kuala University Paragraph Writing Course in 2021. This study used a quasi-experimental design. Pre-tests, post-tests, and questionnaires were employed as the research instruments. The data were analysed quantitatively. The results indicate that the mean score of the post-test for the experimental group (83.52) is higher than that of the control group (68.76).Furthermore, the percentage of questionnaire results showed that 27.3% strongly agree and 51.1% agree that this teaching model motivates students in learning writing. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the writing achievement of students between the experimental and control groups. In other words, the Flipped Classroom Model with Peer Group is an effective teaching model. Hence, the implementation of the Flipped Classroom Model with Peer Group in teaching writing could improve students' learning results and increase students' writing motivation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain and describe the role of the Merdeka BelajarKampu Merdeka (MBKM) or the Independent Learning Program in enhancing the culture and citizenship literacy of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) pre-service teachers at Universitas Almuslim, Indonesia, through the PERMATA-SAKTI Program, a student exchange program. This research employed a mixed method. The respondents of this study were prospective EFL teachers who participated in the program. Five informants were interviewed extensively to collect qualitative data. The interviews were transcribed and the results were analyzed through thematic analysis. A number of 35 pre-service EFL teachers filled in a closed-ended questionnaire to collect quantitative data. These data were analyzed descriptively. The findings of this study indicated that the program could strengthen the cultural and citizenship literacy of EFL pre-service teachers by introducing culture and diversity through the online learning process. The active combined learning process revealed the values of solidarity, tolerance, diversity, and unity. EFL pre-service teachers developed an attitude of mutual respect through a dynamic learning process involving diverse languages, races, ethnicities, religions, and worldviews. This study concluded that the PERMATA-SAKTI Program effectively strengthened the EFL pre-service teachers cultural and citizenship literacy.

Abstract

Abtrak: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pelafalan bunyi konsonan bahasa Inggris mahasiswa melalui penggunaan phonemic chart sebagai media bantu. Sasaran kegiatan adalah 32 mahasiswa dari berbagai program studi yang mengikuti Mata Kuliah Umum (MKU) Bahasa Inggris di universitas Jabal Ghafur. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi ceramah interaktif, audio-visual, drilling, diskusi kelompok, serta refleksi terstruktur. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam tiga sesi utama: pengenalan phonemic chart bunyi konsonan, latihan pelafalan secara individual dan berpasangan, serta simulasi pengucapan dengan panduan simbol fonetik. Hasil pre-test menunjukkan masih rendahnya ketepatan pelafalan bunyi konsonan seperti /θ/ pada kata think yang dibaca dengan tink, bunyi /ð/ yang terdapat pada kata this dibaca menjadi dis, /ʃ/ pada kata she terdengar seperti see, dan /ʒ/ pada measure juga terdengar seperti meser. Setelah pelatihan, post-test mencatat peningkatan rata-rata sebesar 35% dalam ketepatan dan kepercayaan diri mahasiswa dalam pengucapan. Peserta memberikan respon positif terhadap metode ini dan merasa terbantu dalam membedakan bunyi-bunyi yang selama ini sulit dipahami. Kendala yang dihadapi mencakup keterbatasan waktu dan kesulitan awal memahami simbol fonetik secara cepat.Abstract: This community service activity (Pengabdian kepada masyarakat) aims to improve students' English consonant sound pronunciation skills through the use of phonemic charts as a median teaching consonant sounds. The targets of the activity were 32 students from various study programs who attended the English General Course (MKU) at the Faculty of Teacher Training, Jabal Ghafur University. The implementation methods included interactive lectures, audio-visuals, drilling, group discussions, and structured reflections. The activities were divided into three main sessions: introduction of phonemic chart of consonant sounds, individual and paired pronunciation exercises, and pronunciation simulation with the guidance of phonetic symbols. The pre-test results showed the low accuracy of pronunciation of consonant sounds such as /θ/ in the word “think” become “tink” , /ð/ in the word this become as “ dis”, /ʃ/ in the word “she” sounds like “see”, and /ʒ/ in the word “measure” become as “meser”. After the training, the post-test recorded an average improvement of 35% in students' accuracy and confidence in pronunciation. Participants responded positively to the method and found it helpful in distinguishing sounds that had been difficult to understand. Obstacles encountered included time constraints and initial difficulty understanding phonetic symbols quickly.

Abstract

This study aims to deconstruct the symbolic meanings embedded in the logos of the two leading private higher education institutions in Pidie Regency—Universitas Jabal Ghafur and STAI Al-Hilal—using Ferdinand de Saussure’s semiotic framework. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, focusing on the analysis of signifier and signified elements. Data were collected through visual documentation, symbolic observation, and literature review. The findings reveal that both institutional logos incorporate visual elements reflecting Islamic values, intellectualism, and local wisdom. The logo of Universitas Jabal Ghafur features traditional Acehnese floral motifs such as bungong campli, bungong tanjong, reuhai, and bungong awan, symbolizing knowledge, strength, and prosperity. Meanwhile, the logo of STAI Al-Hilal Sigli presents a crescent moon and a book, representing religiosity and scholarly pursuit. The analysis shows that the relationship between signifier and signified is dynamic and contextual. These symbols serve as representations of institutional identity and philosophy, which are not fixed but open to various socio-cultural interpretations.Keywords: Semiotics, University Logos, Ferdinand de Saussure, Visual Identity

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat seberapa jauh pengaruh motivasi berwirausaha terhadap minat menjadi young entrepreneur pada mahasiswa Fe Universitas Negeri Medan. Penilitian dilakukan pada mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Negeri Medan dengan sampel sebanyak 30 responden. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif karena menjelaskan gambaran responden yang diteliti dengan menggunakan validitas, reliabilitas, normalitas, heteroskedastisitas, uji t, uji F dan determinasi (R2) dengan menggunakan alat aplikasi SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat variabel motivasi berwirausaha berpengaruh positif dan simultan terhadap minat menjadi pengusaha muda. hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil uji t nilai signifikansi motivasi berwirausaha < 0,05. artinya terdapat pengaruh antara variabel independen dan variabel dependen. dan hasil uji f diperoleh nilai signifikansi f sebesar 0,000, yang artinya < 0,05. dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa secara simultan variabel motivasi berwirausaha berpengaruh terhadap variabel minat menjadi pengusaha muda.

Abstract

The corn plant is one of the most important food crops other than rice and soybeans. Besides being consumed as direct food and animal feed, it is also used as raw material for other industries, such as alternative fuels, polymers, corn oil and others. This study aims to determine maize varieties that have high growth potential and yields in Bireuen District. This research was conducted from September 2020 to January 2021 in the village of Cot Kruet Makmur Subdistri, Bireuen District, Aceh Province. This study used a randomized completely block design (RCBD) consisting of 7 varietas of corn plant, namely the Bonanza variety, Royal 76 variety, Talenta Variety, Ganebo variety, Sweet Boy variety, Paragon variety, Jambore variety. The observed parameters consist of a growth component and a yield component. Growth components include: plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, and 50% flowering age. While the yield components included: weight of corn cob, length of corn with cob, number of seeds per cob, weight of cob seeds, weight of 1000 grains, and yield per hectare. The result showed that the adaptation test of several varieties of corn plant had a different effect on each observation. Jambore variety is one of the varieties tested for its adaptation in this study, this variety has great potential to be developed in Bireuen district, because the Jambore variety is able to produce the most cobbled cob result among other varieties, weighing is about 22,84 ton ha-1.

Abstract

Karya ilmiah menjadi salah satu kewajiban tugas akhir yang harus dikerjakan atau diselsaikan oleh mahasiswa. Kemampuan dalam menulis merupakan suatu hal yang penting dan patut di pelajari oleh mahasiswa, mengingat kedepannya mereka akan berhadapan di dunia kerja yaitu terutama mahasiswa FKIP. Akan tetapi, kebanyakan dari mereka belum memahami cara penulisan daftar pustaka yang baik. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam penggunaan Mendeley untuk penulisan sitasi atau daftar pustaka. Hasil yang didapatkan dari pelatihan ini memberikan efek atau hasil positif terhadap mahasiswa PPKN. Mereka mampu mengoprasi software Mendeley dengan baik.
