Abstract

Bena traditional village is a tourist village located in Tiwuriwu Village, Ngada Regency, NTTProvince. This tourist village develops ecotourism as the basis for its tourism products. Ecotourismpractices in Bena Village that have been running have a significant impact on environmentalsustainability, utilizing socio-cultural economics for the local community. This study aims to evaluate thefeasibility of ecotourism practices in Bena village by using ecotourism principles as a parameter todetermine the feasibility of ecotourism. Qualitative method is used as a tool to analyze this research with aqualitative descriptive approach. The data were searched by using interview, documentation andobservation methods. The results showed that several ecotourism practices in Bena village were inaccordance with the principles of ecotourism. Practices that do not meet the principles of ecotourismrequire a strategic model that is able to meet these deficiencies.Keywords : Ecotourism, Principle, Practice

Abstract

Bindu Traditional Village (Desa Adat Bindu) is an emerging health and wellness tourism destination in Balithat features a variety of spiritual activities and traditional herbs and seasonings. Unfortunately, as a result of adearth of marketing and the COVID-19 restrictions, the number of tourists visiting the area dropped to as low as zeroin 2020. This issued has raised some concerns regarding resilience, necessitating the identification of Bindu Village’swellness tourism product, its visitors’ characteristics, and the efforts of stakeholders to increase visitor numbers.This research employs a qualitative methodology, gathering data through interviews, observations,documentation, and a review of the relevant literature. To obtain primary data, interviews with the head of BinduVillage and the head of Bindu’s POKDARWIS Group were conducted. The data are analyzed using the SWOT (Strength,Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats) framework to structure a promotion strategy.This research revealed that Bindu Traditional Village’s tourism products are comprehensive, encompassing,attraction, amenity, accessibility, and ancillary products. Middle-to-upper class travelers, both international andlocal, dominated the village. To increase the number of visitors, stakeholders must use social media to promote ahealthy, clean, and content lifestyle that is sustained by wellness tourism. Abstract

In the current digital era, tourism promotion through Instagram social media has become an effective strategy to introduce tourist destinations to a broader audience. Promotion is considered effective when it succeeds in achieving its intended goals. To assess the effectiveness level of a promotional medium, an in-depth measurement of its effectiveness is necessary. This research aims to measure and assess the effectiveness of Instagram @waerebo.official as a promotional medium for the Wae Rebo Tourism Village using the EPIC Model, which consists of empathy, persuasion, impact, and communication. The measurement of promotional effectiveness through the EPIC model method is conducted by first calculating the average values of the empathy, persuasion, impact, and communication dimensions. Subsequently, the EPIC rate value is determined to evaluate how effective the promotion has been. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, questionnaires, and literature review. The sampling technique used in this research is convenience sampling, with a total of 98 respondents. Data analysis uses descriptive statistical analysis with a quantitative approach, including validity testing, reliability testing, and analysis through the EPIC model. The research results indicate that the promotion was considered effective, with an EPIC rate score of 4.10. The empathy dimension achieved an average score of 4.30 (very effective), the persuasion dimension scored an average of 4.11 (effective), the impact dimension scored 3.65 (effective), and the communication dimension scored 4.33 (very effective).
