Abstract

Electrical is used for various activities in all sectors. Rapid increase of electricity demand recently, makes it necessary to have an even more efficient method for generating electricity. Renewable energy and the microgrid provides an integrated and alternative solution for electricity generation. In microgrid systems, energy storage devices are one of important aspects. Batteries are one kind of the energy storage technologies widely used in power system and hence, their suitable capacity must be determined in order to develop an effective system installation. In this research, sizing optimization of battery capacity is modeled as a minimization of microgrid battery capacity using the Particle Swarm Optimization/PSO algorithm with considering islanding operation of the system for effective battery installation. Results show that optimal battery capacity can be obtained and the developed computational model gives satisfactory results for the system under study.   Keywords: Battery, microgrid, energy storage system, PSO algorithm

Abstract

Increasing population growth will affect the mobility of people in carrying out various activities in certain places. Therefore it is necessary to control the number of visitors visiting certain locations/places. The purpose of this research is to build an automatic system to be able to calculate the number of visitors to the room automatically. The research method used is experimental by utilizing Arduino uno and using an ultrasonic sensor, in this case the ultrasonic sensor will be used to be able to detect every movement of a person or human that passes through the sensor. So that it is hoped that the tool built can work optimally in detecting the number of people or visitors who will enter the room or building. The results of this study are the design of a system for calculating the number of visitors in a room or building that has high mobility. The device built uses an ATmega328 microcontroller and an ultrasonic sensor as a human detector. The configuration process for several devices used is using the Arduino IDE software. The conclusion that can be drawn in this study is that the results of testing the performance of the tool show that it is able to provide convenience to building or room managers in knowing the number of visitors entering, leaving visitors and visitors who are still in the room or building.

Abstract

Intisari — Energi listrik merupakan faktor penting untuk menunjang kehidupan dan kegiatan masyarakat. Dalam proses penyaluran energi listrik dari gardu induk ke konsumen seringkali terjadi gangguan. Gangguan yang terjadi pada saluran transmisi dan distribusi salah satunya disebabkan oleh sambaran petir yang terjadi pada sistem tenaga listrik. Sambaran petir yang terjadi pada gardu induk akan menyebabkan kenaikan tegangan lebih yang besar pada peralatan di gardu induk. Untuk penentuan jarak maksimum arrester dilakukan dengan melakukan perhitungan yang selanjutnya dilakukan simulasi tegangan lebih akibat sambaran petir menggunakan software Alternative Transients Program (ATP). Simulasi dilakukan dengan memvariasikan arus petir yang menyambar serta waktu muka petir yang berbeda dan penentuan rating arrester dan jarak aman arrester dan transformator. Analisis dilakukan dengan melakukan perbandingan terhadap kedua waktu muka petir serta perubahan variasi arus petir. Dari hasil simulasi dan analisis diketahui bahwa perubahan waktu muka petir menyebabkan perbedaan perubahan tegangan yaitu tegangan pada waktu muka petir 1,2 μs lebih besar dibandingkan tegangan pada waktu muka petir 2 μs, hal ini dikarenakan waktu untuk mencapai puncak akan semakin cepat dengan semakin kecil waktu muka petir. Selain itu diperoleh perbandingan perubahan tegangan pada saat sebelum arester dan setelah melalui arester. Pada hasil penelitian ini diperoleh jarak maksimum arrester dan transformator yang disarankan yaitu sebesar 29,4 m. Kata kunci — arrester, alternative transients program (ATP), gardu induk, petir. Abstract — Electrical energy is an important factor for sustaining life and community activities. In the process of distribution of electrical energy from substations to consumers is often have a obstacle. The one of obstacle of the transmission lines and the distribution caused by lightning strikes occurring in the power system. Lightning strikes that occur in substations will cause a large increase overvoltage at the equipment in the substation. To determine the placement of arrester done by calculations and next doing overvoltage simulation of lightning strike using software Alternative Transients Program (ATP). Simulations doing by varying the flow of lightning striking and different front time of lightning also a safe maximum distance of arrester and transformer. The analysis was performed by a comparison of the two lightning  front time also the lightning current variation. From the simulation results and analysis showing that the lightning front time variation causing a voltage change which the voltage at the front time of 1.2 μs is higher than the voltage at the front time of 2 μs, this is because the time to reach the top will faster with a little lightning front time. Besides that, getting the result comparison of the voltage change before and after going through arrester. On the results of this study arrester and transformer maximum distance suggested is 29,4 m. Abstract

The moisture content of soil or growing medium is one of crucial factor that significantly affects plant growth and achieving optimal harvest results. Therefore, detecting soil/growing medium moisture is essential to prevent plants from drying out due to insufficient water or being damaged by excessive watering. This study utilized an Arduino Uno to measure the moisture of the growing medium. Based on from the results and discussions, the device designed in this study has been able to detect changes in the moisture levels of the growing medium after watering and can serve as an alert if the growing medium becomes too dry, as indicated by the LED installed on the device.

Abstract

This research aims to design and develop an automated fish-feeding device using a microcontroller Arduino. This research intends to assist aquarium or fish farm owners in providing consistent and scheduled feeding while reducing the human workload. The research method involves designing both the hardware and software components. The hardware includes a feed dispenser, a motor drive, a Real-Time Clock (RTC) module, an LCD, and a microcontroller Arduino. The development of this software was to schedule feeding times and control the amount of feed dispensed. The research findings demonstrate the successful design and implementation of the automated fish-feeding device. Users can easily set feeding schedules and portion sizes through a user-friendly interface. In conclusion, this research has successfully designed a fish-feeding device using an Arduino microcontroller, which enhances the ease of fish maintenance in aquarium or fish farm environments, particularly in automated fish feeding.

Abstract

Pentingnya pemahaman siswa SMK terhadap Etika Profesi serta Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3), khususnya di Bidang Ketenagalistrikan, menjadi perhatian penting dalam menyiapkan sumber daya manusia yang kompeten dan berkarakter. Oleh karena itu, diadakan kegiatan sosialisasi bertema "Mengukuhkan Peran Etika Profesi dan K3 dalam Pembentukan Karakter Siswa SMK Teknik Jaringan Tenaga Listrik". Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SMK Bina Latih Karya (BLK) Bandar Lampung dan melibatkan 26 siswa dari jurusan Teknik Jaringan Tenaga Listrik sebagai peserta. Sosialisasi bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap prinsip Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) serta etika profesi, yang sangat penting di bidang ketenagalistrikan yang berisiko tinggi. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pre-test, penyampaian materi secara interaktif, dan post-test. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman siswa sebesar 9,87%. Keberhasilan ini dipengaruhi oleh penggunaan metode partisipatif seperti ceramah interaktif, diskusi, serta media visual yang mempermudah pemahaman konsep teknis. Relevansi materi dengan bidang keahlian siswa turut memperkuat efektivitas pembelajaran. Namun, kegiatan ini juga menghadapi kendala, seperti keterbatasan waktu, minimnya perangkat simulasi, dan beragamnya latar belakang pengetahuan siswa. Tim pelaksana mengatasi hal ini dengan pendekatan komunikatif dan visual yang menarik. Diharapkan kegiatan ini dapat memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam membentuk karakter profesional dan meningkatkan kesadaran akan keselamatan kerja siswa SMK sebelum memasuki dunia industri.
