Abstract

Carbamazepine as an antiepileptic drug that is used widely and was known can cause severe cutaneous adverse drug reactions like SJS-TEN. These adverse drug reactions is known to be associated with some specific HLA polymorphism in European populations (HLA-A*31: 01), China (HLA-A*31: 01; HLA-B*15: 02), Japan (HLA-A*31 : 01; HLA-B*15: 11), Korea HLA-A*31: 01; HLA-B*15: 02; HLA-B*15: 11), India (HLA-B*15: 02), Thailand (HLA-B*15: 02), and Malaysia (HLA-B*15: 02). Information related to certain HLA polymorphism is important to prevent adverse drug reaction but there is no sufficient data on the population of Indonesia.

Abstract

Antenatal care (ANC) is planned to prepare for a safe and comfortable delivery. Assessment of the quality of care received by patients is used as a guide to determine the best and weakest dimensions of service quality. Service quality aspects are evaluated based on five quality service dimensions, including tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the five dimensions of ANC service quality and patient satisfaction and revisit interest. The method in this study uses a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach, with a sample size of 86 pregnant mothers. Sampling was done using accidental sampling. Data were analyzed using chi-square. The results show that the tangible dimension has the strongest influence on satisfaction (OR 104.50) and revisit interest (OR 41.08) of patients in the KIA clinic at Puskesmas Gondanglegi. The conclusion from this study is the existence of a relationship between the dimensions of ANC service quality, including tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, with patient satisfaction and revisit interest in the maternal-children clinic at Gondanglegi primary health center.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in women worldwide after breast cancer. The high incidence of cervical cancer is due to delays in diagnosis and patients coming in with advanced cancer conditions; it is necessary to have cervical cancer screening so that it is not too late in treatment. One cervical cancer screening that can be done is the visual inspection with the acetic acid (VIA) method. Based on the existing phenomena, not all women of childbearing age want to do the VIA examination because they feel ashamed, lack knowledge regarding the importance of VIA, fear feeling sick during the examination, and lack of husband's support. This study aims to determine the relationship between income level and husband's help with participation in cervical cancer screening using the VIA method in women of childbearing age. This type of research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample is women of childbearing age, which meets the sample criteria by using simple random sampling of as many as 120 respondents. The instrument used is a questionnaire and data analysis using Chi-square. The results showed a relationship between the level of income and the husband's support with participation in cervical cancer screening using the VIA method at WUS in Tandun I District, with p-values of 0.010 and 0.028 (p-value <0.05). The conclusion is that an increase in income or the provision of material support and the husband's support can make his wife carry out an IVA examination. Therefore, it is hoped that what should give an increase in income or the provision of materials support and a husband's license to the wives of couples of childbearing age to prevent cervical cancer and reduce cervical cancer mortality

Abstract

Plastic is a synthetic or semi-synthetic organic polymer widely used in daily life and industrial production. Microplastics are widespread contaminants and can enter the human body by consuming foods containing microplastics, inhaling microplastics in the air, and making skin contact with microplastic particles in products. Microplastics can enter the ovaries as foreign bodies and can cause inflammation, oxidative stress, and even ovarian granulosa cell death. Polyethylene plastic shards generally have a higher ability to absorb environmental toxins than other types of plastic. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is one of the oldest thermoplastic polymers that is often used as water pipes. PVC has carcinogenic monomers and some harmful additives. This study aims to determine the effect of subacute exposure to micro-nanoplastics per inhalation on SOD and MDA levels in rat ovaries. The research method used is a true experimental design with a Randomize Post Test Only Group Design research design. This study used the ovarian organs of female white rats exposed to PVC and PE for 28 days. The number of samples used in this study amounted to 18 female rats. Subacute exposure to micro-nanoplastics per inhalation can lower SOD levels and significantly increase MDA levels in rat ovaries. This study is expected to provide knowledge and an overview for future research on the mechanism of toxicity of micro-nanoplastic exposure that has an impact on female infertility through free radicals in the ovaries.
