Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACT The 2017 Indonesian Health Profile shows the number of posyandu in Indonesia has 164,867 (56.57%) active posyandu. However, the quantity of posyandu is not in line with the quality of utilization of the posyandu. In 2017 there were only 89,070 (82.6%) toddlers weighed in posyandu from 107,846 toddlers who were there. This amount is far from the target of visiting toddlers in Central Java Province, which is equal to 90%. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the activity of mothers of children under five to posyandu, including factors of education, employment, age and knowledge of children under five at the posyandu.             This research was carried out at the Posyandu in the Pandean Lamper Sub-District of Semarang City in March 2019. This type of research was analytic observational with a cross sectional design. The study population was mothers of children under five (1-5 years). Sampling using proportionate stratified random sampling.             The relationship of education and activity of mothers of children under five has a moderate correlation with a value of 0.580 and the relationship between knowledge and activity of mothers of children under five has a strong correlation with a value of 0.675. In the future, it is expected that mothers of toddlers always maintain the activity of posyandu and cadres always provide motivation to mothers to attend the posyandu activities.             Conclusion: the longer the mother under five takes the level of education and the higher the knowledge of the mother under five, the higher the activity of the mother of the toddler to the posyandu.

Abstract

The phenomenon of teenage pregnancy has serious health, social, and economic impacts. Globally, 55% of pregnancies among 15-19 year olds result in unsafe abortions, including in Indonesia. Based on interviews with the midwife coordinator, BOK funds are only sufficient to hold classes for 15 pregnant women. There is a disparity between the number of pregnant women and the amount of assistance provided so far. Of the 399 pregnant women, only 18.8% (75 women) can be assisted through classes for pregnant women. The next problem is the low reading interest of mothers in KIA books. With the availability of digital educational media, it is hoped that this can be a solution to the problems occurring at the Duren Posyandu. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge of midwife cadres regarding digital education models that can accommodate more pregnant women by using educational materials that are more interesting to pregnant women. The community service activity was carried out on July 31 - August 1, 2025, with 5 village midwives and 13 cadres participating. The activity began with a pre-test, followed by the community service team delivering the material, and finally a post-test. All participants in the activity experienced an increase in knowledge for 20 points, as evidenced by their post-test scores, which were higher than their pre test scores.

Abstract

The implementation of Electronic Medical Records (RME) at Bumiayu Hospital has not been evenly distributed. This is due to several factors, including the lack of special training for the registration sub-unit and the limited educational background of the officers who handle RME. In addition, the information technology infrastructure in hospitals is still not optimal, and governance and leadership support is considered inadequate. These conditions can affect the readiness of the system and reduce the accuracy in recording patient data. This study aims to describe the readiness of registration officers in the implementation of RME using the DOQ-IT method. The aspects studied include human resources, organizational culture, leadership governance, and IT infrastructure. The study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with a cross sectional approach. Data was collected using a questionnaire filled out by 4 registration officers. The results of the analysis on 4 variables show that hospitals are classified as very ready in the implementation of RME. The results of the study were dominated by women (75%) with Diploma education (75%) and a working period of >10 years (75%) The following are the readiness scores for the implementation of RME at Bumiayu Hospital: Human Resources (22.2), Organizational Work Culture (47.6), Leadership Governance (35.9), Information Technology Infrastructure (18.2). The Bumiayu Hospital Medical Record Installation should provide special training on the use of RME, especially for registration officers.

Abstract

Central Java Province continues to hold the third-highest MMR in Indonesia as of 2023. Caesarean section births are maternal services associated with rates of maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality. The purpose of this study is to examine the factors influencing Caesarean section births in the province of Central Java. The 2017 Indonesian Demographic Health Survey (IDHS) provided the data used in this investigation. 1,060 data were gathered after sorting, and total sampling was employed. SPSS was used to analyze the data, utilizing the frequency distribution for univariate analysis and the Pearson Product Moment test for bivariate analysis. Mothers between the ages of 26 and 28 who have two children, have not given birth in the past year, have a middle-class income, have no problems during childbirth, have neither high blood pressure nor low blood pressure, and whose kids are not breech are the data mode based on study data. Every circumstance influences the decision to use a caesarean section as a delivery procedure. The family's financial situation has the biggest impact on the variable of caesarean delivery.

Abstract

The rising global cesarean section (SC) rate, projected to reach 29% by 2030, is a concern in Indonesia, where SC prevalence increased to 25.9% in 2023 from 17.6% in 2018. While medical indications drive SC, non-clinical factors like financing and healthcare access may contribute to overuse. This study examines the role of Indonesia’s BPJS health insurance and hospital availability in determining SC utilization. A cross-sectional analysis was conducted using SKI 2023 data, including 70,916 women with deliveries between 2018 and 2023 (weighted n = 20,076,001). Bivariate associations were assessed using chi-square tests with complex sample design, applying survey weights for national representativeness. SC prevalence was 25.9%, with 34.9% of BPJS-covered deliveries being SC compared to 10.8% for out-of-pocket payments (p < 0.001). Hospital availability within the district was associated with a 27.0% SC rate versus 16.1% where no access existed (p < 0.001). Private insurance (50.3%) and employer-funded (37.4%) deliveries also showed higher SC rates. BPJS coverage and hospital availability significantly influence SC utilization in Indonesia, suggesting improved access but potential overuse. Rural disparities highlight the need for infrastructure investment to ensure equitable maternal care under Universal Health Coverage. Further research with causal methods is recommended.
