Abstract

The competency improvement currently needed by teachers is literacy competency. Literacy competency in the world of education is very lacking and enthusiasm and motivation in the world of education is very minimal, so there is a need for training to increase literacy competency within teachers. This training to increase teacher competency was carried out at the Az-Zahra Integrated Islamic SDS Demak through direct provision of material and practice. All service teams provide knowledge and material related to literacy competencies needed by teachers. The result of this service is that teachers can develop literacy competencies in a comprehensive and detailed manner.

Abstract

Curriculum transformation is essential to the education because it aims to improve learning quality and make it more relevant to the needs of students and society. The curriculum can be adapted to align the course content with current issues and the society's demands. Modifying or updating materials enables the curriculum to address current issues better and provide knowledge that aligns with the needs of the students. The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in mathematics teaching materials for junior high school students based on the transformation of the 2013 curriculum to the ‘Merdeka’ curriculum. The research methodology employed in this study is a literature review, with the primary sources that are the government regulations outlining the fundamental competencies of the 2013 curriculum and the learning outcomes of the Merdeka curriculum, as well as other supporting relevant references. According to the findings, the Merdeka curriculum has less material than the 2013 curriculum. This aligns with Merdeka curriculum's characteristics, which prioritize essential material to provide ample time for students to develop their creativity and innovation skills.

Abstract

Abstract

The digital world is constantly evolving, and every individual is required to adapt quickly to technological changes. Technological changes also occur in the learning process, so that every teacher with his best performance can adapt quickly in accessing learning technology. Digitalization in learning takes various forms and functions, therefore it is necessary to strengthen teachers regarding digital literacy in learning. Digital literacy training activities at SDS IT Az Zahra Demak Demak were carried out by providing material, then continued with hands-on practice. Each service team provides assistance and guidance to all participants in practice. The results of this training activity teachers have succeeded in increasing competence which is marked by the successful practice of making assessments in Kahoot, Quiziz, and Mentimeter

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of integrating coding using Scratch and AI interaction via ChatGPT to enhance the mathematics performance and computational thinking skills of 5th-grade students. An experimental group, which received training using these tools, showed significant improvements in mathematical problem formulation, data organization, and higher-order cognitive skills such as analysis, evaluation, and creation, as measured by Bloom's Taxonomy. These gains were notably higher compared to a control group using traditional methods. The results demonstrate that the use of Scratch for coding and ChatGPT for AI interaction not only enhances mathematical understanding but also fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative learning. This integration supports the development of computational thinking, preparing students for future challenges in a technology-driven world. The study highlights the potential of digital tools in transforming primary education by promoting deeper engagement and fostering essential 21st-century skills.

Abstract

The massive development of technology in education has led to the implementation of digital-based learning. However, the impact of the pandemic and the implementation of online learning by utilizing digital technology has caused problems in the form of learning loss. The Merdeka Curriculum as an effort to resolve this learning loss has actually created new problems, that is, teachers' difficulties in implementing differentiated, fun, and meaningful student-centered learning. More specifically, this difficulty occurs for math teachers who do not have references to various mathematics activities that support meaningful learning. One alternative solution to solve this problem is to have a special module that contains references to various mathematical activities and games. The purpose of this research is to develop a hands-on mathematics module based on journal studies which becomes a teaching module in the manipulative mathematics media course. The research and development model to be implemented is 4D Thiagarajan which consists of 4 stages, these stages are define, design and develop. The dissemination stage was not carried out in this period due to research limitations. The results showed that the developed module met the validity criteria with a score of 2.71, met the practicality criteria with a score of 87% and met the effectiveness criteria with a score of 91,6. It’s concluded that the hands on mathematics module was feasible to use and met the criteria of valid, practical, and effective. The results of the study are expected to be a recommendation for further development research and for teachers in designing mathematics learning.
