Abstract

Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) is one of the policies of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. In this program, students are given the freedom to take courses outside the program of study so that they can achieve learning outcomes covering aspects of attitudes, knowledge, and skills optimally and always relevant. Association of Indonesian Medical Education Institutions (AIPKI) Region IV, through an online course program, opens elective block subjects for medical education of association members. Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Islam Indonesia (FM UII) as one of the members of the association, participated by implementing the e-learning system as a learning medium. However, the implementation of the e-learning system can still be improved in terms of benefits. This study aims to evaluate the e-learning information system in FK UII using the HOT-Fit method and provide recommendations for e-learning to have more benefits. Quantitative cross-sectional design research to measure the research variables of the HOT-Fit model, namely, Human (system use, user satisfaction), Organization (structure, environment), Technology (system quality, information quality, service quality), and Net benefits. The population in this study is a student participant of e-learning in FM UII with a sample size of 124 samples taken by random sampling. Data analysis was performed regression. Hypothesis testing showed that there were 13 accepted hypotheses and 4 rejected hypotheses. From this study, it can be concluded that the development of e-learning can still be needed to achieve more benefits obtained by learners by paying attention to user satisfaction, organizational support, and adequate technology.

Abstract

Faculty of Medicine (FM UII) is part of the Association of Indonesian Medical Education Institutions (AIPKI) Region IV. FM UII through the online course program opens elective block courses by implementing an e-learning system. The aim of this research is to investigate the factors that influence the adoption of e-learning in medical education elective programs. The method used in this study uses the Human, Organization and Technology-Fit (HOT-Fit) framework where the aspects studied include aspects of users, organizations, and technology to provide more benefits in implementing e-learning. Data analysis was performed by regression. A total of 124 respondents were used in this study. Hypothesis testing showed that there were 11 accepted hypotheses and 6 rejected hypotheses. From this study it can be concluded that the implementation of the e-learning system in general has provided benefits to its users. But on the other hand, the implementation of e-learning still needs to be improved to be able to achieve more benefits for students by paying attention to aspects of user satisfaction (human), adequate organizational and technological support. This research can provide recommendations for models of implementing online learning that are in accordance with the characteristics of institutions, especially in medical education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Introduction: Older people are at high risk of metabolic syndrome (MetS), non-communicable diseases, and mortality. This makes it difficult for older people in slum areas to achieve healthy and productive quality of life (QOL). In Indonesia, a developing country with a significant and growing number of slum areas, research on this issue remains scarce.  This study aimed to analyze the risk factors that play a role in the incidence of MetS in older people living in slum areas. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study. The participants were male and female residents aged ≥45 years, with a total sample size of 150. The participants were selected through simple random sampling from a list of older people. Data analysis was performed using the chi-squared test for bivariate analysis and binary logistic regression for multivariate analysis. Results: The majority of the participants were female (62%), aged between 60-74 years (53.33%), with low-level education (86%), nutritional status in the overweight and obese categories (41.4%), and residence duration <5 years (70%). There was a significant association between district (p < 0.001) and body mass index (BMI) (p < 0.001) with MetS. Overweight participants were more likely to have MetS (AOR 3.75; 95%CI, 1.37-10.24), and the risk was higher among those with obesity (AOR 11.85; 95%CI, 3.90-35.97). Conclusions: The risk of MetS in slum dwellers is higher if they are overweight or obese. Periodic evaluation of body weight can help to control the incidence of MetS.
