This type of research is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 3 Jayapura. Sources of data in this study were the Principal, Deputy Quality Management, Head of Administration, Deputy Head of Curriculum, Deputy Head of Public Relations, Deputy Head of Student Affairs, Head of Department, Teachers, Supervisors, and Committees. The research instrument is the researcher himself, interview guidelines, observation guidelines, and documentation guidelines. The data analysis technique is qualitative data analysis following the concept of Miles and Huberman (1992), including data reduction, data display, and verification/conclusion. The data validity technique uses data triangulation. The results showed that (1) the procedure management system was successfully implemented. The achievement can see this of the school's quality targets classified as successful. (2) Management responsibility has been successfully implemented. This can be seen from the management commitment, focus on customers, quality policy and responsibility, and communication is carried out by conducting periodic internal and external quality audits; (3) Resource management at SMK Negeri 3 Jayapura is classified as successful, this can be seen in the supporting physical resources, supporting human resources, complete infrastructure, and a comfortable working environment; (4) Factors supporting was successfully implemented, namely: a) Commitment and Awareness of all School Citizens, b) Quality of Human Resources, c) Adequate Infrastructure.

Abstract

Natural and Social Science (IPAS) learning in elementary schools is expected to be contextual, meaningful, and closely connected to students’ real-life experiences. However, classroom practices often remain dominated by teacher-centered instruction and textbook-based learning, resulting in limited student participation and difficulties in understanding abstract scientific concepts, particularly those related to plant structures and their functions. This situation highlights the need for learning media that utilize local environmental resources and integrate local wisdom into the learning process. This study aimed to analyze the use of stinging nettle leaves (Laportea decumana) as a local wisdom-based learning media in IPAS learning on plant structure and function material for fourth-grade students at SDN 01 Nabire, Papua Tengah. The study also explored its contribution to student engagement, conceptual understanding, and the integration of local cultural values in science learning. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving the principal, classroom teacher, students, parents, and school supervisor. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the use of Laportea decumana as a learning medium increased student engagement through active observation, discussion, questioning, and exploration activities. The media also facilitated a more concrete and contextual understanding of plant structures and functions while strengthening students’ awareness of the relationship between scientific knowledge and Papuan local culture. The study concludes that local wisdom-based learning media can support more meaningful, relevant, and culturally responsive IPAS learning in elementary schools. Keywords: IPAS learning, local wisdom, Laportea decumana, plant structure, contextual learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of integration of local wisdom in science learning in elementary schools, especially in ecosystem material for grade V within the Merdeka Curriculum framework. The Sasi tradition as a form of ethnoscience of the Nabire community has great potential to be integrated into the learning process oriented towards the Pancasila Student Profile. However, the low utilization of interactive learning media and the limited connection between local science and formal science material are obstacles that need to be overcome. This study aims to describe the implementation of ethnoscience learning based on the Sasi tradition in ecosystem material for grade V developed through the Articulate Storyline 3 media in elementary schools. The type of research used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The research subjects included the principal, grade V teachers, and grade V students of SD Negeri Inpres 01 Sanoba, Nabire Regency, Central Papua Province. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with data validity using source triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of Sasi-based ethnoscience learning through Articulate Storyline 3 media can increase students' learning motivation, strengthen the understanding of ecosystem concepts contextually, and introduce local wisdom values that are aligned with the dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile. Obstacles found include limited teacher technological competence and media preparation time. The solutions implemented include peer-based technology training and gradual media development. This study concludes that the integration of Sasi indigenous ethnoscience and Articulate Storyline 3 media in ecosystem science learning provides a meaningful, contextual, and enjoyable learning experience for fifth-grade elementary school students. Abstract

This descriptive qualitative research aims to analyze and describe in depth the meaningful understanding of fifth grade students of Al Ihsan Yapis Elementary School Kotaraja about the material of changes in the state of matter and heat transfer through a simple practicum method. The research subjects consisted of 25 students and 1 class teacher. Data were collected through triangulation techniques which included participatory observation, documentation of the learning process, and in-depth interviews. The data analysis flow used the Miles and Huberman interactive model which consisted of data reduction, data presentation (data display), and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the simple practicum method was effective in building students' meaningful understanding through five core learning activities (1) managing simple practicum tools and materials, (2) conduction practicum using a metal spoon, (3) radiation practicum through the sensation of warmth around a candle flame, (4) practicum on changes in the melting state of granulated sugar, and (5) practicum on the anomaly of a water-filled balloon above a candle to trigger cognitive conflict. Overall, this practicum activity succeeded in reducing text verbalism, minimizing scientific misunderstandings, and showing indicators of deep understanding orally and in writing. Meanwhile, technical obstacles in the form of a noisy classroom were successfully overcome with structured group management.
