Abstract

This study aims to analyze grammatical agreement errors in na‘at-man‘ut structures found in the academic writings of students of Arabic Language and Literature Department at UIN Bandung in 2014. The research focuses on identifying forms of grammatical inconsistencies between adjectives (na‘at) and the nouns they modify (man‘ut) in academic Arabic writing. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a linguistic approach, particularly focusing on Arabic syntactic analysis (nahw). The data consist of ten Arabic thesis abstracts, which were collected through documentation techniques by reading, identifying, and classifying erroneous na‘at-man‘ut constructions. The data were analyzed based on classical Arabic grammatical rules and error analysis theory. The findings reveal that the errors primarily involve mismatches in gender (masculine-feminine), number (singular-plural), definiteness (ma‘rifah-nakirah), word category selection, and the use of comparative forms. These errors indicate a lack of mastery of basic syntactic agreement rules in Arabic. This study concludes that na‘at-man‘ut errors in students’ academic texst are systematic and reflect underlying linguistic competence issues. The results are expected to contribute to improving the teaching of Arabic grammar, especially nahwu, in higher education contexts.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to reconstruct the epistemology of knowledge in Arabic language education in the era of artificial intelligence by examining the relationship between reason, revelation, and algorithmic systems. The study employs a qualitative method based on library research, using a philosophical-epistemological approach and conceptual analysis of literature on Islamic epistemology, philosophy of science, Arabic language education, and contemporary studies on artificial intelligence. The findings indicate that the epistemology of knowledge in Arabic language education has traditionally been grounded in the integration of reason and revelation as the primary sources of knowledge, whereas artificial intelligence possesses an epistemic character that is instrumental, data-driven, and non-intentional. Therefore, artificial intelligence cannot be positioned as an autonomous source of knowledge but rather as an epistemic tool operating under the guidance of human reason and the normative values of revelation. The reconstruction of an integrative epistemology of knowledge in Arabic language education necessitates an epistemic hierarchy that positions revelation as the normative source, reason as the instrument for understanding and developing knowledge, and algorithmic systems as technological means that support the learning process. These findings contribute theoretically to strengthening the epistemological foundations of Arabic language education, ensuring its continued relevance in the face of technological advancement without losing its value orientation and meaningful purpose.                                                                                                                       Keywords: Reason, Epistemology of Knowledge, Artificial Intelligence, Arabic Language Education, Algorithmic Systems, Revelation.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merekonstruksi epistemologi ilmu dalam pendidikan bahasa Arab di era kecerdasan buatan dengan menelaah relasi antara akal, wahyu, dan sistem algoritmik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif berbasis studi kepustakaan (library research) dengan pendekatan filosofis-epistemologis dan analisis konseptual terhadap literatur epistemologi Islam, filsafat ilmu, pendidikan bahasa Arab, serta kajian kontemporer mengenai kecerdasan buatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa epistemologi ilmu dalam pendidikan bahasa Arab secara tradisional bertumpu pada integrasi akal dan wahyu sebagai sumber utama pengetahuan, sementara kecerdasan buatan memiliki karakter epistemik yang bersifat instrumental, berbasis data, dan non-intensional. Oleh karena itu, kecerdasan buatan tidak dapat diposisikan sebagai sumber pengetahuan otonom, melainkan sebagai alat bantu epistemik yang berada di bawah kendali akal dan nilai-nilai wahyu. Rekonstruksi epistemologi ilmu pendidikan bahasa Arab yang integratif menuntut adanya hierarki epistemik yang menempatkan wahyu sebagai sumber normatif, akal sebagai instrumen pemahaman dan pengembangan ilmu, serta sistem algoritmik sebagai sarana teknologis pendukung pembelajaran. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi teoretis bagi penguatan landasan epistemologis pendidikan bahasa Arab agar tetap relevan dengan perkembangan teknologi tanpa kehilangan orientasi nilai dan makna.Kata kunci: Akal, Epistemologi Ilmu, Kecerdasan Buatan, Pendidikan Bahasa Arab, Sistem Algoritmik, Wahyu.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of tasybih and analyze their purposes in the novel Faris Bani Hamdan by Ali al-Jarim. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques using the observation method. The data in this study were taken from phrases, sentences, and discourses containing tasybih. Data analysis was conducted using the tasybih approach in ilm al bayan, and to break down the linguistic constructions this study applies the distributional technique based on the Immediate Constituent Analysis method to identify the elements of musyabbah, musyabbah bih, adat tasybih, and wajh syibh. The findings show various types of tasybih namely mursal, muakkad, mufassal, mujmal, baligh, tamtsil, and qarib mubtazal. Meanwhile, tasybih baid gharib was not found. The purposes of their use include bayan hal al musyabbah, taqrir hal al musyabbah, bayan miqdar al musyabbah, taqbih al musyabbah, and madh al musyabbah. The absence of bayan imkan, bayan imkan wujud, and istitraf indicates that the use of tasybih is more focused on strengthening meaning and clarifying messages rather than creating effects of unfamiliarity or surprise within the narrative. This study confirms that tasybih plays an important role in strengthening linguistic beauty and narrative function in modern Arabic literature.

Abstract

This study analyzes the use of deixis elements in the news "KPK Reveals Riza Chalid's Connection with the Corruption Suspect in the Procurement of Catalysts" published by Kompas.com on October 22, 2025, using Stephen C. Levinson's (1983) deixis theory, which includes personal, spatial, temporal, social, and discourse deixis. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a listening and note-taking technique to identify linguistic data that appears in the text. The results show that deixis in the news not only functions as a linguistic reference marker, but also as a pragmatic device that plays a role in forming the context and framing of information. Personal deixis is used to indicate the position of participants and maintain the objectivity of journalistic narratives, while spatial and temporal deixis function to clarify the location, time, and chronology of events so that the information is presented coherently and easily followed. Social deixis is seen through the use of titles, positions, and forms of address that reflect the hierarchy and power relations between law enforcement agencies and the parties reported on. Meanwhile, discourse deixis plays a role in maintaining text cohesion and coherence through linking sentences and sections. This finding confirms that the choice of deictic forms in news texts has significant pragmatic implications in shaping the construction of meaning and influencing readers' perceptions of reported legal events. Thus, deictic analysis can be an important instrument for understanding how the media constructs reality through language.
