Abstract

With the prohibition of the use of Antibiotic growth promotors (AGP) used in animal feed, especially in broilers, the use of feed additives such as herbs, probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics or mixtures of some of these ingredients is currently widely used as feed replacements for AGP substitutes. One of the commercial feed additives that contain combinations herbal and probiotics is Promix®. In broiler maintenance, one vaccine that must be given is Newcastle Disease (ND) vaccine. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of supplementation of commercial feed combination of herbs and probiotics in broilers given ND vaccines. A total of 42 broilers were divided into two, group A (vaccinated with ND) and B (not vaccinated ND), each with 21 heads. Group A is divided into groups A1, A2 and A3 each with 7 heads. The A1 group is given only basal feed; A2 basal feed and AGP; A3 basal feed and Promix®. Group B is divided by B1, B2 and B3 same as group A before. Broilers are maintained for 5 weeks and weighing each week. All data obtained were statistically analyzed using One Way ANOVA and continued with Duncan's post hoc test. The results of this study were that the group of chickens given the ND vaccine and given supplements of Promix® had greater weight gain (P˂0.05) compared to the AGP and basal groups in the fifth week while in the group of chickens that were not given the ND vaccine but given supplement Promix® feed had greater weight gain (P˂0.05) compared to the AGP and basal groups in the fourth week. In the fifth week there was no significant difference (P˂0.05) between all feed groups in the group not given the ND vaccine. The conclusion of this study that feed additives contain combinations herbal and probiotics can replace AGP as feed additive in broiler. By giving ND vaccine the weight gain of the feed group plus Promix® showed a significant increase in weight gain.

Abstract

Pakan merupakan faktor utama pemeliharaan ayam pedaging yang menempati 75% dari biaya produksi. Pakan dengan kandungan AGP menyebabkan resistensi pada manusia dan hewan. Oleh karena itu, dikembangkan alternatif non-antibiotik seperti probiotik yeast. Salah satu mikroorganisme patogen unggas yaitu C. jejuni yang merupakan bakteri patogen zoonosis. Tujuan penelitian mengetahui efek imbuhan pakan pada ayam pedaging dengan parameter gambaran darah setelah diinfeksi C. jejuni. Penelitian ini menggunakan 36 ekor ayam yang dipelihara pada umur satu hari (DOC) sampai 36 hari. Ayam dikelompokkan menjadi 3 perlakuan berdasarkan pemberian pakan: kelompok pakan komersial (I), pakan komersial + AGP (II), dan pakan komersial + imbuhan pakan (maxi-yeast) (III). Selanjutnya, dibagi lagi menjadi 2 perlakuan yaitu (A) uji tantang dan (B) tanpa uji tantang. Proses pencampuran pakan dilakukan secara manual, air minum diberikan secara ad libitum, dan vaksinasi dilakukan sesuai program lapangan. Uji tantang C. jejuni dilakukan pada hari ke 22 (1x109 CFU/mL), dan pengambilan darah dilakukan pada hari 21 dan 35. Hasil gambaran darah antara kelompok tidak memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan (P>0,05). Disimpulkan bahwa gambaran darah secara keseluruhan (sebelum dan sesudah uji tantang) memberikan hasil yang berbeda namun tidak signifikan setelah diberikan pakan berdasarkan kelompok.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh kelompok tani nek’ana yaitu kekurangan pakan pada saat musim kemarau padahal banyak hijauan yang berlimpah ruah pada musim penghujan yang bisa diolah menjadi pakan berkualitas dan berpotensi sebagai penyedia pakan yang berkesinambungan, Para petani peternak tani ternak belum mempunyai pengetahuan tentang keseimbangan nutrisi pada pakan ternak yang benar, Para  petani peternak belum mempunyai pengetahuan tentang berapa banyak pakan yang harus dikonsumsi dalam sehari. Dari ketiga masalah tersebut, maka perlu mendorong usaha pengembangan ternak sapi bali dengan melakukan perbaikan pengelolaan pakan melalui pelatihan pembauatan pakan silase. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi dari pendampingan kepada kelompok tani akan pentingnya pakan ternak. Hal ini dilakukan mengingat sangat kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat akan pakan di musim kemarau, sehingga perlu dilakukan  Pengabdian Pada Masyratakat tentang “Pemberdayaan Kelompok Tani Nek’ana melalui Pelatihan Pembuatan Pakan Silase Di Desa Salu Kecamatan Miomaffo Barat Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara” telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 22 Desember 2021. Pengenalan dan pemahaman mengenai pakan sangat penting mengingat peran pasar sebagai kebutuhan utama ternak sapi, kambing, dan domba. Masyarakat kelompok tani Nek’ana merupakan masyarakat yang bernotabene petani, maka perlu adanya pelatihan-pelatihan mengenai pakan untuk meningkatkan pasokan pakan di musim kemarau. Target khusus melalui pendampingan dan pelatihan diharapkan setiap mitra kelompok tani dapat mengetahui pentingnya pembuatan pakan silase untuk menunjang kekurangan pakan dimusim kemarau yang relative panjang. Meode yang digunakan dalam pencapaian hasil tersebut adalah pelatihan secara langsung dalam proses pembuatan silase.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini telah dilaksanakan pada kelompok tani Bilubahan Desa Tapenpah Kecamatan Insana. Tujuan dari pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan pakan amoniasi jerami padi untuk mengatasi permasalahan kekurangan pakan pada kelompok tani Bilubahan, Desa Tapenpah, Kecamatan Insana. Para petani peternak belum mengetahui cara pengolahan jerami padi sebagai pakan ternak. Sehingga perlu pelatihan pembuatan amoniasi jerami padi. Pelatihan pembuatan amoniasi jerami dilakukan dengan beberapa tahap yakni Penyuluhan dan demostrasi. Kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan amoniasi jerami padi berjalan dengan lancar. Para Peternak pada kelompok tadi sangat antusias dalam kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan amoniasi jerami padi. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pelatihan pembuatan amoniasi jerami adalah para peternak dapat memahami cara pembuatan amoniasi jerami padi dan ternak memiliki tingkat kesukaan yang tinggi terhadap pakan amoniasi jerami padi.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi sosialisasi kepada peternakan Unit Pertanian-Peternakan SVD Halikelen tentang Sosialisasi metoda pembuatan kolostrum buatan pedet sapi perah. Hal ini dilakukan mengingat sangat kurangnya kesadaran peternakan akan pentingnya kolostrum buatan dalam mengatasi masalah induk tak menyusui , sehingga perlu dilakukan  Pengabdian Pada Masyratakat tentang “Sosialisasi metoda pembuatan kolostrum buatan pedet sapi perah di unit pertanian-peternakan SVD Halikelen desa Naekasa Kecamatan Tasifeto Barat kabupaten Belu” akan dilaksanakan tanggal  1 Maret 2023. Pemahaman mengenai pembuatan kolostrum buatan sangat penting mengingat peran pasar sebagai kebutuhan utama adalah daging dan susu, maka perlu meningkatkan produktivitas ternak sapi perah. Unit Pertanian-Peternakan SVD, Halikelen merupakan salah satu peternakan yang berada di Desa Naekasa Kecamatan Tasifeto Barat Kabupaten Belu dan berdiri pada tahun 2021 oleh para biarawan SVD. Hal ini merupakan salah satu perusahaan baru yang banyak mendapat perhatian dari akdemik melalui pelatihan-pelatihan yang berkaitan dengan sapi perah.Target khusus melalui pendampingan dan pelatihan diharapkan Unit Pertanian-Peternakan SVD, Halikelen dapat mengetahui pentingnya kolostrum buatan dalam mengatasi pedet yang tau menyusu dari Indyk atau sebaliknya. Hal ini dilakukan agar pedet bertumbuh dan berkembang dengan sehat. Metode yang digunakan dalam pencapaian hasil tersebut adalah pelatihan secara langsung melalui sosialisasi dan eksperimen di lapangan.

Abstract

Research was carried out to examine the effect of giving Citrus aurantifolia as an acidifier on growth in broiler. The research uses an experimental model with the application of a Completely Randomized Design (RCD). The treatments tested consisted of four treatments which were differentiated based on the level of use of Citrus aurantifolia in drinking water, namely without Citrus aurantifolia (T0), 25 ml/975 ml drinking water (T1), 50 ml/950 ml drinking water (T2), and 75 ml/925 ml drinking water (T3). Each treatment was repeated four times so that there were 16 experimental units, each experimental unit consisted of 5 broiler chickens so that a total of 80 chickens were used. The variables observed were body weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion. Data analysis used analysis of variance (Anova) and Duncan’s multiple range test. The results showed that the increase in body weight for T0, T1, T2 and T3 was 103,13±3,72, 107,21±5,08, 112,31±073, 120,94±2,13 g/head. Feed consumption was 162,65±1.80, 165,82±0.49, 168,30 ±0.71, 170,36±0.23 g/head. Feed conversion was 1,58±0,05, 1,55±0,07, 1,50±0,01, 1,41±0,02 g/head. The result statistical analysis (Anova) showed that the treatment had a very significant effect (P>0,05) on body weigth gain, feed consumption and feed conversion of broiler. it was concluded that the addition of Citrus aurantifolia as an acidifier in drinking water can have a positive effect on body weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion in broiler.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan kebutuhan dasar manusia. Pendidikan memiliki dampak positif pada kualitas hidup. Orang yang memiliki pendidikan yang lebih tinggi cenderung memiliki akses yang lebih baik terhadap pekerjaan yang lebih baik, layanan kesehatan yang lebih baik, dan peluang untuk mengembangkan hubungan sosial yang lebih kuat. Permaslahan yang dialami oleh siswa/i Sekolah Menegah Atas (SMA) N 1 Insana adalah kurangnya pengetahuan tentang pentingnya pendidikan dan penegetahuan tentang kampus terakreditasi oleh karena itu perlu ada sosialisasi dan promosi Kegiatan sosialisasi dan promosi penerimaan mahasiswa baru ini telah dilaksanakan selama 2 hari terhitung 01 Januari 2024 - 01 Februari 2024. Abstract

This community service was carried out to increase students’ digital literacy based on environment and local wisdom at public elementary school of Oelnitep. The activities were divided into 5 stages with the aim to produce output that is useful for partners and also for the community service team. The first stage was the initial survey in order to discuss with the school principal regarding the condition and circumstances of the school and the problems faced. The service team and the school also exchanged ideas regarding solutions to the problems of the partner. The second stage was the preparation of community service activities such as the learning media as well as the tools and materials needed. The third stage was the core activities where the students were introduced the video of “Cyber Eco Adventure: Exploring the Environment with Technology”, the Use of Google Earth, the Demo of automatic watering tools, and the practice of planting the tree saplings and making drip irrigation. Based on the results of this community service activity, it can be concluded that the use of environmental-based technology can be a way to improve digital literacy while providing basic understanding regarding the environment at public elementary school of Oelnitep.

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of adding propionic acid in feed on the growth of Kampung chickens in the grower phase was conducted from July to September 2024 in Kefamenanu City, North Central Timor Regency. A total of 80 Kampung chickens aged 6 weeks with an average body weight of 400 g were used in this study. The method used was a Completely Randomized Design, consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications, each replication consisting of 5 chickens. The treatments given were T0: control feed (without propionic acid), T1: control feed + 0.20% propionic acid, T2: control feed + 0.40% propionic acid, T3: control feed + 0.60% propionic acid. The research variables observed were weight gain, feed consumption and feed efficiency. Data analysis used analysis of variance and Duncan's multiple range test. The results showed that the average weight gain of T0, T1, T2, and T3 were 103.41±1.94, 106.07±0.58, 108.72±1.14, 109.61±1.84 g/head/week, respectively. Feed consumption was 496.83±2.82, 500.89±2.07, 502.58±1.41, 504.74±9.36 g/head/week, respectively. Feed efficiency was 20.81±0.29, 21.17±0.07, 21.63±0.20, 21.71±0.05%/head, respectively. Analysis of variance showed that the treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05) on weight gain and feed efficiency, while feed consumption was not significant. It was concluded that the use of propionic acid at a level of 0.60% in feed provided maximum results on the performance of Kampung chickens in the grower phase.

Abstract

Antibiotic growth promoters (AGPs) are commonly used by the public to increase chicken growth, but they have health risks, namely causing resistance in humans and animals. Therefore, experts have begun to seek substitutes that focus on natural ingredients, such as yeast, as non-antibiotic alternatives. The most commonly used yeast probiotic is Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S._cerevisiae) var. Boulardi. One of the pathogenic microorganisms that attacks poultry is Campylobacter jejuni. This study aims to determine the effect of feed additives (S._cerevisiae), in broiler chickens on performance (weight gain, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio (FCR)) after being infected with C. jejuni. A total of 36-day-old chicks (DOC) were grouped into 3 based on feed provision, namely, commercial feed group (I), commercial feed group + AGP (II), and commercial feed group + Feed additives (S._cerevisiae) (III). The three groups were further divided into 2 treatments, namely (A) without challenge test (control) and (B) challenge test. Feed mixing was done manually, drinking was given ad libitum and vaccination was according to the field program. Weighing of body weight and remaining feed was done every week. A challenge test with C. jejuni was done on the 21st day with a concentration of 1x109 CFU/mL. The results obtained for overall weight gain in weeks 1 to 3 of each feed group, statistically did not show a significant difference (P>0.05), although the numbers showed a difference. Weeks 4 and 5 of the control group's weight gain statistically showed a significant difference between groups (P<0.05). The challenge test group, week 4 experienced a decrease in weight gain and was not statistically significantly different (P>0.05) but in week 5 there was an increase in weight and was statistically significantly different (P<0.05). Conclusion: Providing commercial feed additives (S. cerevisiae) can increase weight gain, and reduce feed consumption and FCR.
