Abstract

AbstractThe aim of study id to analyze the understanding, attitude, implementation and the implementationefforts of Journalistic Ethics Code as self-censorship by journalisist in the Post-Orde Baru inMakassar. The study is carried out to several journalistis of printed media in Makassar. This is aqualitative research utilizing library and field surveys. The data were collected through observation,deep interviews and documen inspections. The inform ants were determined by snowball samplingtechnique. The data were analyzed using Miles and Hubermans Interactive Model. The result of thestudy indicate that majority of journalistis in the post-Orde Baru in Makassar have a wellunderstanding about some principles like fairness, accuracy, and objecttivity in the journalisticEthics Code. They have positive view toward the principles and agree about the importance inimplementing it. How ever, in fact the principles are not well implemented yet especially about theaccuracy due to some of obstacles faced by journalist when doing their job. Thus, journalists haveto attempt implementing the Journalistic Ethics Code as self-cencordhip throught some effortsbrought by the media, journalist organisation (PWI and AJI), Press Council, and government. AbstrakPenelitian ini dimaksudka untuk menganalisis tingkat pemahaman, sikap, dan oenerapan sensor diridalam melakukan Kode Etik Jurnalistik di kalangan Wartawan Pasca Orde Baru di Makassar. Studiini dilakukan pada beberapa wartawan media cetak di Makassar. Metode penelitian yakni kualitatifdengan menggunakan kepustakaan dan dokumentasi. Informan ditetapkan dengan cara tekniksnowball sampling. Data dianalisis dengan memakai model interaktif dari miles dan Hubermans.Hasil studi ini mengindikasikan vahwa pada umumnya wartawan pasca orde baru di Makassarmemiliki pemahaman yang baik tentang prinsip-prinsip penulisan jurlanistik, misalnya kejujuran,akurasi, dan objek-tivitas dalam menjalankan Kode Etik Jurnalistik. Mereka pada umumnyamemiliki pandangan yang positif terhadap prinsip-prinsip Kode Etik Jurnalistik dan setuju untukdilaksanakan. Meskipun sejauh ini dalam kenyataannya prinsip-prinsip tersebut belum dilakukansecara penuh karena beberapa faktor penghambat. Karena itu para wartawan berusaha melakukanKode Etik Jurnalistik dalam bentuk sensor diri yang diusahakan oleh media itu sendiri, organisasiwartawan PWI dan Aji dewan Pres, dan Pemerintah.

Abstract

Pendidikan pada umumnya adalah proses pembelajaran, komunikasi merupakan faktor utama menentukan tercapainya tujuan pendidikan. Dengan kata lain, komunikasi Sebagai sarana atau media tercapainya tujuan pendidikan. Komunikasi yang efektif antara guru (komunikator) dan siswa (komunikator) diperlukan untuk tercapainya interaksi belajar mengajar. Al-Qur’an sebagai pedoman hidup umat Islam memerintahkan pendidik untuk berkomunikasi secara efektif dengan peserta didiknya. Penelitian ini untuk menginterpretasikan teks dalam Al-Qur’an dan penafsirannya yang mengandung Konsep Komunikasi Pembelajaran yang mencakup istilah komunikasi, unsur-unsur komunikasi dan nilai-nilai komunikasi efektif dalam pembelajaran. Al-Qur’an memiliki kedudukan dan fungsi yang sangat sentral dalam pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan termasuk pendidikan Islam. Al-Qur’an dalam perspektif merupakan sebuah teks yang baku dan tetap (fixed text)adanya jarak antara transmisi dan pembacanya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode Hermeneutika Paul Ricoeur yang menawarkan sudut pandang dan model pembacaan baru yang menempatkan pembaca atau audiens dalam lingkaran makna teks. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam Al-Qur’an terdapat sejumlah istilah yang menunjukkan denotasi komunikasi seperti: al bayan, al qaul, al kalam. Terdapat sejumlah ciri komunikasi yang efektif menurut Al-Qur’an yaitu mengajak kepada Tauhid, metode menarik, mengembangkan kemampuan mental dan fisik, dan suasana demokratis. Ada beberapa pesan akhlaki Al-Qur’an dalam berkomunikasi secara umum termasuk di dalamnya proses pembelajaran berbasis Al-Qur’an, diungkapkan dengan istilah qaulan sadiidan, qaulan ma’ruufan, qaulan maesuuran, qaulan layyinan, dan qaulan kariiman.

Abstract

Multikultural dalam suatu masyarakat dapat dimaknai dari dua aspek yang berbeda. Multikultural dari aspek positif merupakan kekayaan yang unik dan berharga karena merepresentasikan dinamika hidup yang diwarnai oleh keberagaman suku, agama dan budaya. Namun sebaliknya, kondisi multikultural ini jika tidak dikelola dengan baik maka berpotensi menimbulkan konflik karena masyarakat terbagi dalam kelompok-kelompok berdasarkan perbedaan identitas kultural masing-masing. Kondisi yang sama tercermin pada masyarakat Youtefa Abepura Kota Jayapura yang masyarakatnya berasal dari berbagai suku di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu diperlukan praktik dan teknik-teknik komunikasi harmoni yang efektif dan menjunjung tinggi kesetaraan tanpa ada tindakan-tindakan dikriminatif. Namun tentu saja upaya-upaya membangun komunikasi harmoni in tidak terlepas dari berbagai hambatan akibat dari beberapa faktor yang berperan di dalamnya. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk-bentuk komunikasi harmoni yang dipraktekkan dan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berperan dan menghambat terbangunnya komunikasi harmoni pada masyarakat Youtefa. Metode penelitiannya adalah kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, studi pustaka dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi harmoni dipraktekkan dalam dua bentuk yaitu kooperatif dan akomodatif melalui teknik komunikasi informatif dan persuasif merupakan bentuk komunikasi yang paling sering digunakan dalam kegiatan sehari-hari masyarakat multikultural di Youtefa. Hubungan pribadi seperti kurangnya konsep diri, persepsi negatif, perbedaan kebiasaan mendengarkan, serta perbedaan komunikasi verbal maupun non verbal berperan dalam menghambat terbangunnya komunikasi harmoni.

Abstract

Penjual dan pembeli di pasar tradisonal, Youtefa tidak dapat terhindar dari aktivitas komunikasi baik verbal maupun nonverbal dalam praktik tawar-menawar. Namun komunikasi yang dilakukan tidak selamanya berjalan lancar. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan respon penjual baik secara verbal maupun nonverbal terhadap communication breaching experiment (percobaan pelanggaran komunikasi) yang dilakukan oleh pembeli dan mengetahui alasan di balik respon tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat interpretif dan metode etnometodologi dengan meminta kesediaan 5 orang pembeli untuk melakukan communication breaching experiment terhadap beberapa penjual. Data dianalisis dengan model interaktif Miles and Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa respon penjual terhadap pelanggaran komunikasi ditunjukkan dalam dua bentuk yaitu komunikasi verbal dan komunikasi nonverbal. Melalui komunikasi verbal (kata-kata secara lisan) pelanggaran dikatakan sebagai sebagai sesuatu yang aneh, tidak wajar, bahkan pelakunya dianggap tidak waras, mengada-ada atau pura-pura tidak tahu, dan angkuh dan diperkuat oleh komunikasi nonverbal (ekspresi wajah kesal, heran, menepuk jidat, nada suara yang tinggi, mengernyitkan dahi, dan menggeleng-gelengkan kepala). Respon ini dilatarbelakangi oleh terjadinya komunikasi yang tidak seperti biasanya atau tidak sebagaimana mestinya yang berbeda dari kebiasaan yang sering ditemui dalam rutinitas sehari-hari di pasar antara penjual dan pembeli. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sellers and buyers in traditional markets, Youtefa cannot avoid communication activities both verbally and nonverbally in the practice of bargaining. However, the communication done does not always run smoothly. Therefore, this study aimed to describe the seller's response to breaching communication carried out by the buyers both in verbal and nonverbal communication and knowing the reasons behind the response given. This study uses a qualitative research approach and ethnometodology method through a communication breaching experiment by asking the willingness of 5 buyers to do it with some sellers. Data were analyzed by the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results of the study showed that the seller's response to communication breaching was shown in two forms, namely verbal communication and nonverbal communication. Through verbal communication (verbal words) violations are said to be something strange, unnatural, even the perpetrators are considered insane, making it up or pretending not to know, and arrogant. This response is reinforced by nonverbal communication such as irritated facial expressions, wonder, tapping the forehead, high tone of voice, frowning, and shaking his head. This response is motivated by the occurrence of communication that is not as usual or not as it should be that is different from the habit that often found in daily routines in the market between sellers and buyers.

Abstract

Mosso is a village located in between Indonesia - Papua New Guinea border. It is often known for its difficulty. In reaching government's efforts to empower the community through the use of village funds can make a positive contribution to the progress of the Mosso Village community. So it is necessary to develop communication strategy to empower the community by utilizing of village fund allocation that can increase community participation. The theory used in studying the results of this research is the development communication theory. The methods used in this study are descriptive qualitative research and data analysis techniques using Miles and Huberman models, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verifying (verification). The results of this study show that the village government's communication strategy has not been maximized in increasing community participation through utilizing empowerment programs, this is marked by 1). The communication that has occurred so far has been more monologic/directive in nature, communication has not led to a form of dialogue with the community, 2). The weak process of supporting the empowerment program consistently by the village government, starting from the planning, implementation, to evaluation stages.

Abstract

Kenduri Sko is one of the sacred traditional traditions of the people of Dua Luhah Pendung, Kerinci Regency, which is rich in cultural values and local knowledge, especially in the use of traditional plants. The ethnobotanical knowledge inherent in this ritual reflects local wisdom that has been passed down from generation to generation, but now faces challenges due to modernization and diminished interest of the younger generation. This community service activity aims to preserve ethnobotanical knowledge through participatory education and mapping of traditional plants used in Kenduri Sko. The methods used include interviews with indigenous and community leaders, documentation of plant types, and educational training for local youth and students. The results of the activity showed an increase in public awareness of the importance of local plant conservation as well as the formation of digital maps and simple catalogs of plants that play a role in traditional ceremonies. This program is expected to be the first step in maintaining the sustainability of local culture and biological resources as part of the ecological and social identity of the Kerinci people.

Abstract

social, cultural, and economic challenges faced by local communities(Yulianti, 2020); (Ali et al., 2024; Dewanto et al., 2023; Ichsan et al., 2023). This study examines ethnic involvement in community-based education by highlighting the power dynamics and ethical considerations that underlie the learning process and community empowerment. In the context of pluralistic community education, the involvement of ethnic groups is not only about participation, but also concerns bargaining positions, socio-cultural representation, and the challenges of maintaining justice and inclusivity. Through a qualitative approach based on literature studies and selected case studies, this study found that power inequality between education facilitators and local communities can hinder the process of social transformation. In addition, disregard for local values and norms often triggers resistance or misinterpretation of educational goals. Therefore, it is important to design a community-based educational approach that is sensitive to social dynamics, upholds participatory ethical principles, and strengthens community voices in decision-making. These findings recommend strengthening critical pedagogical practices that integrate local values with the goal of continuing education development.

Abstract

Press freedom is a concept that refers to the guarantee of citizens' rights to receive information. However, the journey to realize press freedom so that it becomes an inseparable part of the order of the nation and state requires a long time with enormous challenges, especially within the conflict-prone areas. This research aims to explore press freedom in Papua, journalists' interpretation of press freedom, press freedom in reporting sensitive issues, and the causes of journalists' vulnerability to violence. It employed a case study method with a constructivist paradigm. The results showed that press freedom in journalistic activities in Papua, as a prone conflict area, has not gone well due to various obstacles. Journalists interpret freedom of the press as free from all kinds of threats, prohibitions, and intimidation, free to build relationships with anyone, and free to provide true, objective, and non-biased information as a form of responsibility to the public. Journalists interpret the press freedom guarantee in Press Law No.40 of 1999 as still needing firmness and special discussion, especially regarding journalistic activities and special protection in conflict areas as a necessity in various forms. Press freedom in reporting sensitive issues in Papua, as a prone conflict area, requires journalists to consider their safety. The causes of the vulnerability of journalists to violence in Papua Province, as a prone conflict area, are the low professionalism of journalists, the suboptimal role of press companies and journalist organizations in providing protection.
