Abstract

Organic agricultural products such as fresh vegetables is a product that is easily damaged and can cause losses if not utilized properly. Food processing is a way to increase the storage capacity of organic agricultural products. Instead of increasing storability of food, processing food products is also a choice to develop marketing of agricultural products. Therefore, the organic farming women as the members of the SKM (Suka Karya Makmur) Vegetable House Group was given training in the processing of organic agricultural products in the form of vegetable noodles, spinach chips, and vegetable sticks. The training activities were carried out using demonstration and simulation methods which were attended by 35 people. The team provides a demonstration with examples and then the participants simulate the processing of food products independently. Evaluation of activities is carried out by providing pre-test and post-test, observation, and interviews of participants. The result of this activity is an increase in knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial interest from the members of the SKM Vegetable House Group. The training activity for the manufacture of organic agricultural products is the first step to improve the economic status of the community in Somongari Village.

Abstract

Moler disease is the primary disease that disturbs the shallot cultivation. Hence, it is beneficial to have preventive measures to mitigate the risk and to improve growth. The research objective is to know the effectivity of Trichoderma harzianum suspension as a bio-fungicide and bio-stimulator. The study used seven treatments, i.e., immersion of shallot seeds on negative control (distilled water), positive control (synthetic fungicide+ZPT 1g/liter), T.harzianum suspension with different concentrations of 2 ppm, 4 ppm, 6 ppm, 8 ppm, and 10 ppm, assigned in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Treatment that results in a significant level will be continued to the Least Significance Different (LSD) 5% test. The observed variables are the intensity of moler disease and the growth of shallot seeds. Experiment results show the significant difference between treatments. The optimal treatment to reduce the percentage of moler disease intensity is the immersion of shallot seeds in 10 ppm-concentrated T.harzianum suspension, while to improve the shallot growth is in 8 ppm-concentrated T.harzianum suspension. The intensity of moler disease has a negative correlation to the plants height and leaves diameter but shows no correlation pattern to the number of leaves, wet weight, dry weight, and length of roots.

Abstract

Abstract

Fungal diversity is high in Indonesia, one of which is Scleroderma sp. Scleroderma forms a symbiotic relationship with Gnetum gnemon. Its fruiting body is puff-ball shaped, and its gleba can be consumed because of its taste and nutritious. Study on the Scleroderma’s diversity in Purworejo Regency has not been done. In this study, morphological characteristics were used as main identification character. Scleroderma samples were collected from Grabag, Kemiri, and Kaligesing and then observed their morphology and spore characteristics. Morphological traits observed on fruit body shape (globose and kidney-shaped); and ornamentation on peridium layer (cracked, nodule and peeling). Chemical content, temperature, and humidity of the soil were also observed as supporting data.
