Abstract

The purposes of this study were to find out the types of the spoken errors commonly made by the students in speaking, knowing the reasons do the students make same errors, describing how English teachers use corrective feedback to refine students’ errors, exploring the types of corrective feedback do the students mostly like, explaining the teachers’ and students’ perceptions towards corrective feedback.The types of this study was descriptive qualitative study. The findings indicated that errors mostly made by the students were pronunciation error, grammatical error and lexical error, why did they make same errors because the students got fossilization, corrcetive feedbacks were used to refine students speaking were explicit correction, repetition and reformulation, corrective feedbacks that the students mostly like were explicit correction, repetition and pronunciation, the teachers perceptions towards corrective feedback were corrective feedback was to know the lacks of the students speaking, the teachers could give the students feedbacks in order not to be fossilized. by giving feedback appropraitely it was believed the students would not be fossilized. The students’ perceptionson corrective feedback were they had very good responses about corrective feedback that were given by the teachers in the classroom.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a “Beberan” game board as a practical, efficient, and innovative media to improve students’ speaking skills. It was carried out using the research and development method by applying Borg, Gall, and Sugiyono theories. Furthermore, it involved seven steps: analysis, designing product, preliminary test, experts’ judgments, product revisions, field test, and final product of media. A total of 30 students of the pre-service teacher study program of the Islamic elementary education, Al-Anwar Islamic College, were the subjects. The instruments used were observation, interview, and test. Based on the data obtained, the results showed that developing the “Beberan” game board as an innovative media improved students’ speaking skills at the beginner level. This improvement was observed in the result obtained from the pre-test and post-test scores, which increased from 67.867 to 72.133.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, swift changes in the mode of instruction have caused teachers to face new challenges and situations in the classroom. These changes have resulted in new experiences for teachers to deal with. The purposes of this study were to explore how pre-service teachers prepared themselves in the teaching and learning process in the classroom and what made them challenging in teaching students at the Islamic elementary level. Through joining teaching practice at the Islamic elementary level directly, it made pre-service teachers challenged in doing such kinds of teaching and learning processes in handling the students in the classroom. To overcome these problems, the pre-service teachers employed such kinds of strategies for example Discovery Learning strategies, Contextual Teaching-Learning strategies, and utilizing the “Snake and ladder” and also “Beberan” Game Board as creative media in their teaching and learning process. The implication of this study was as pre-service teachers needed to develop an awareness of the teaching strategies for teaching students at the Islamic elementary level. Culling the appropriate strategies and media were needed in teaching the students at the Islamic elementary level to engage the students to activate joining in the classroom. Abstract

  Bahasa Jawa menjadi bagian integral dari identitas budaya Jawa. Mempertahankan dan menggunakan Bahasa Jawa tidak hanya berkontribusi dalam melestarikan serta menghormati warisan budaya dan tradisi masyarakat Jawa, melainkan juga berdampak positif dalam pembentukan karakter siswa. Oleh karena itu, penerapan Bahasa Jawa telah dimasukkan ke dalam muatan kurikulum Pendidikan saat ini sebagai mata pelajaran muatan lokal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pembentukan karakter bersahabat/komunikatif pada siswa MI Annuroniyah melalui berbahasa Jawa Krama. Jenis dan pendekatan penelitian ini adalah deskrisptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data induktif, dengan instrumen pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara dan dokumetasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwasanya melalui pembiasaan berbahasa Jawa Krama dapat membentuk karakter bersahabat/komunikatif siswa MI Annuroniyah Rembang. Karakter yang terbentuk meliputi: terjalinnya interaksi antar warga madrasah, berkomunikasi dengan bahasa yang santun, saling menghargai dan menjaga kehormatan, bergaul dengan cinta kasih dan rela berkorban, serta tidak menjaga jarak atau membeda-bedakan dalam berkomunikasi. Penelitian ini tidak hanya akan memberikan dukungan pada pelestarian nilai budaya Jawa, tetapi juga akan membuka peluang untuk mengembangkan metode pendidikan yang dapat membentuk karakter yang ramah dan memiliki kemampuan berkomunikasi efektif. Hal ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi positif dalam dinamika sosial masyarakat. Kata kunci: Bahasa Jawa Krama, Karakter Bersahabat/Komunikatif, Pembentukan Karakter. Javanese language is an integral part of Javanese cultural identity. Maintaining and using the Javanese language not only contributes to preserving and respecting the cultural heritage and traditions of the Javanese people, but also has a positive impact on the formation of students' character. Therefore, the application of Javanese has been included in the current education curriculum content as a local content subject. The research aim was to analyze the formation of friendly/communicative character students in MI Annuroniyah through the Javanese Krama language. The research type was descriptive qualitative with inductive data collection techniques, data instruments included observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed, through familiarization with the Javanese Krama language, the friendly/communicative character of MI Annuroniyah Rembang students could be formed. The characters that were formed: establishing interactions between madrasah residents, communicating in polite language, respecting each other and maintaining honor, interacting with love and willing to make sacrifices, and not keeping a distance or discriminating in communication. This research would provide for preserving Javanese cultural values, and also provide opportunities to develop educational methods that could be formed friendly characters and effective communication skills. It was expected, this could make a positive contribution to the social dynamics of society. Keywords: Characters establishment, Friendly/Communicative character, Javanese Krama Language.

Abstract

Over the past two decades, research on the central role of teachers' social-emotional competencies (SEC) in their teaching abilities has increased rapidly. However, there is not much research that focuses on increasing the social-emotional competence of pre-service teachers. This study aims to explore the impact of pre-service teachers' SECon their English language teaching to young learners at the elementary level. Investigating how pre-service teachers develop their SEC at the elementary school level. This research used a qualitative method with seven prospective Islamic elementary school teachers as participants. Data collection in the research used observations and semi-structured interviews with prospective Islamic elementary school teachers who taught English to young students in fifth grade at the elementary level. Inductive data analysis was carried out in this research with stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The research results show that pre-service teachers' social-emotional competencies are critical in avoiding burnout, improving well-being, and creating a positive learning environment. Pre-service teachers can begin to develop their social-emotional competencies by cultivating self-awareness. When pre-service teachers are aware of their emotions, they feel more in control of students in the classroom and make better decisions during the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

As it was a common fact in the field, incomplete assessment processes and results were the cause of a weak educational assessment system, which had an impact on weakening students’ motivation and learning creativity. Portfolio assessment was an alternative to an authentic and comprehensive assessment system that could increase students' learning spirit and creativity. This study aimed to determine how portfolio assessment was implemented in Islamic religious learning at Madrasah Aliyah 1 Bojonegoro. The method used​ in this study was qualitative with a case study design. The subject of this study was the Head of the curriculum, Head of students, Islamic religious teachers, guardians of students, academic supervisors, and selected alumni. The case study data analysis was carried out through stages: collecting data, analyzing data, interpreting data, and making conclusions. The results showed that the implementation of portfolio assessment was carried out in two stages: first, assessment of the indicator stage, and second, assessment of the artifactartefactThe portfolio assessment process was carried out through four stages, namely, 1) stage of collecting evidence of work, 2) stage of selecting evidence of work, 3) work reflection stage, and 4) work exhibition stage. It was expected that the results of this study could develop an effective and efficient model for implementing portfolio assessment to increase students' learning motivation and creativity in joining the process of Islamic religious learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the educational transformation at the Pesantren Al-Anwar III Sarang Rembang in facing the challenges of Generation Z through a traditionally oriented character-based. The research method used was descriptive quantitative with a questionnaire instrument that had been tested for validity and reliability, covering three leading indicators: internalization of traditional character values, integration of technology in learning, and the suitability of the educational approach to the characteristics of Generation Z. The results showed that the internalization of traditional character values o btained the highest percentage of 70.22%, reflecting the success of the Pesantren in maintaining Islamic values and traditions. Meanwhile, the integration of technology and the suitability of the educational approach obtained 57.13% and 57.04%, indicating that innovation and adaptation to the needs of Generation Z have begun but still need strengthening. Pesantren Al-Anwar III Sarang Rembang had attempted educational transformation through project-based learning activities, digital literacy, and collaboration with external institutions. However, infrastructure limitations and resistance to change were still challenges. This study emphasized that Pesantren education development in the modern era must be carried out with a selective approach, namely, maintaining fundamental values w hile adopting relevant and contextual innovations.

Abstract

Javanese society, especially in Yogyakarta, has a strong bond with norms of life, traditions, and religion and is still maintained in everyday life to this day. The values ​​shown in their lives have their own symbols with noble meanings in them. This research aims to reveal the values ​​and symbols in character education of children in Yogyakarta as a symbol of Javanese society. The researchers used qualitative research with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The researchers used data analysis in this research through the Miles and Huberman model with three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The research results indicate that the philosophy of life of the Yogyakarta community has been used as a character education value for children with an emphasis on attitudes that need to be maintained by children, attitudes that must be avoided, values ​​and symbols in the seriousness of facing life for children, the relationship between children and their God, and the relationship between children and other creatures. These various attitudes continue to be developed by children as a noble culture that holds many noble values ​​and symbols, so that in themselves children are created strong characters.

Abstract

This study was conducted based on observations of school readiness in implementing ANBK assessments at state elementary madrasahs in Rembang Regency. This study aimed to determine the implementation, obstacles, and solution readiness of infrastructure, human resources, and administration of the implementation of ANBK 2022 at the State Madrasahs Ibtidaiyah level in Rembang Regency. This study used descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of the study were the principals, teachers, proctors, and students. Data collection techniques included observation, interview, and documentation. This study's results demonstrated schools' readiness to implement ANBK in 2022. 1), the schools provided adequate information and communication technology facilities by the 2022 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). 2), sufficient financial resources were available to support implementation. 3), the assessment rooms were adequate. 4), the principals actively fulfilled their roles in the national assessment. 5), the teachers showed good technical readiness as participants in the national assessment. 6), the students also demonstrated strong technical readiness. 7), the proctors, technicians, and supervisors carried out their duties and responsibilities effectively. 8), the schools formed specific ANBK implementation teams. 9), the schools did not have special learning resources to support ANBK. Finally, the implementation teams overcame several technical obstacles. Although the schools had completed the preparation, they encountered challenges such as limited computer availability and server problems. The teachers solved these issues by borrowing additional computers or laptops from colleagues.
