Abstract

Joper chicken is a poultry the result of a cross between a rooster and a purebred chicken.  The research of this study was to analyze the effect of using fermented pineapple skin flour (Ananas comosus (L). Merr) in rations on the productivity of joper chicken in the finisher phase.  The study was conducted on 90 joper chickens from the age of 1 day (DOC) to the age of 65 days.    This research used a paired sample t test with 2 treatments and 15 replications, the treatments were P0 (control ration of 0% TKNF), and P1 (ration added 10% of TKNF).  The data obtained from the study were calculated using Microsoft Excel and analyzed using SPSS. The results of the study showed that the use of fermented pineapple peel flour did not have a significant effect (P>0.05) on the observed parameters. the parameters analyzed were ration consumption, PBT, FCR, and IOFCC. The results showed that the P0 and P1 treatments were ration consumption of 1.860 g/head and 1.877 g/head, PBT of 688 g/head and 697 g/head, FCR of 2.70 and 2.69, and IOFCC of Rp. 14.787.00 and Rp. 15.731.00.

This research was to analyze an incidence of helminthiasis in beef cattle. The research used an observation method. Data collection was done by taking all fecal samples from 391 beef cattle in Seputih Raman sub-district. A fecal samples examination checked with Mc. Master and Sedimentation test at Veterinary Laboratory of Lampung. The results indicated that the incidence rate of helminthiasis in beef cattle at smallholder farms in Seputih Raman sub-district was about 45,27%. The highest incidence found in Rama Dewa village is about 84,00%. Helminths specie found in beef cattle at smallholder farm in Seputih Raman sub-district are from Nematode class (Haemonchus sp. is 3,3%, Trichostrogylus sp is 1,5%, Mecistocirus sp. is 2,3%, Trichuris sp.is 0,5% and Oesophagostomum sp. is 6,6%), Trematode class (Paramphistomum sp is 28,1% and Fasciola sp. is 14,8% and Cestode class (Hymonlepis spp. Is 0,5% and Moniezia sp. is 2,0%. The highest incidence was found in Paramphistomum sp species about 28,1%. The highest incidence rate of helminthiasis in beef cattle at smallholder farms in Seputih Raman sub district, ranging from 100-2200 eggs. The highest of worm eggs of the Cestode genus is foundin the Moniezia sp. species ranging from 100-2.200 eggs.

Abstract

Broiler chicken is a type of livestock that has a short maintenance time ranging from 28-35 days this causes many farmers to cultivate broiler. Broiler chickens have high stress level that can interfere with broiler productivity, therefore it is necessary to minimize stress levels in broilers by providing antioxidants that can inhibit the oxidation process in livestock. Red dragon fruit peel contains antioxidant such as flavonoid, terpenoid, vitamin C, saponin and tannin which are sources of natural antioxidant. This study aims to analyze the benefit of red dragon fruit peel on broiler productivity. The material used is 100 DOC and red dragon fruit peel which is processed into infusion. Analysis of the data used in this study is statistical analysis paired until T-test with a confidence level of 5% and two treatments P0 as a control and P1 administration of red dragon fruit peel infusion at a level of 12%. The variables observed in the study were ration consumption, body weight gain, conversion ration, mortality and income over feed cost. The result showed that there was a significant difference in the productivity of broiler chicken for giving red dragon fruit peel infusion at a level of 12%.
