Abstract

Karbon aktif digunakan  secara luas sebagai penyerap dalam proses industri untuk menghilangkan sejumlah pengotor, terutama sebagai penjernih, pengolahan limbah, pemurnian air, obat–obatan dan lain–lain. Di Indonesia pembuatan karbon aktif menggunakan rotary kiln dengan bahan baku arang kayu atau tempurung kelapa umum sudah dilakukan secara komersial,  sedangkan dengan bahan baku semikokas (arang batubara) masih dalam skala kecil. Hasil penelitian terdahulu pada skala laboratorium dengan menggunakan semikokas Air Laya berukuran 2 mm, menunjukkan bahwa pada temperatur aktivasi 900ºC selama 2 jam, menghasilkan karbon aktif dengan bilangan yodium 650 mg/gr. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, percobaan ditingkatkan  ke skala pilot menggunakan rotary kiln kapasitas 1 ton/hari dengan menggunakan conto yang sama, yaitu semikokas Air Laya yang berukuran 3 mm, laju alir uap air 70 kg/jam dan variabel jumlah umpan dengan kecepatan 60, 50, 35, 20 dan 10 kg/jam. Percobaan tersebut menghasilkan karbon aktif dengan bilangan yodium tertinggi, yaitu 675 mg/gr, pada waktu tinggal 4 jam dan kecepatan umpan 35 kg/jam. Mutu karbon aktif tersebut telah memenuhi persyaratan untuk pemurnian air minum dan pengolahan limbah. Kata kunci : karbon aktif, bilangan yodium, waktu tinggal, kecepatan umpan

Abstract

Professional competency is the basic foundation for prospective counselors. This research aims to examine the urgency of professional competence for prospective counselors. The data source in this library study research was obtained from research articles found on google scholar in the period 2018 - 2023. Data was obtained through Harzing's publish or perish application. By using the keywords professional competence of counselors and professional competence of prospective counselors, 400 articles related to these keywords were obtained. Based on the sorting of data analysis, 13 articles were relevant to the objectives of this research. The research results show that seven aspects of competency must be mastered, including 1) being able to carry out assessment activities; 2) mastering the theory of counseling well and being able to implement it; 3) able to develop guidance and counseling programs; 4) able to implement the designed guidance and counseling program; 5) master the process assessment instruments and counseling results assessment; 6) Understand and be able to maintain professional ethics; 7) able to carry out research in developing the science of guidance and counseling. These results are important for prospective counselors to improve their professional competence so they can compete with current global challenges. This research recommends that future researchers provide interventions to prospective counselors to improve professional competence.

Abstract

The diversity of ethnicity, religion, and race in Indonesia presents potential challenges in today's society. There is a possibility that the millennial and Gen Z generations may not fully grasp the importance of moderation in religious values. The urgency of peer counselors in internalizing religious moderation could be one approach to instilling values such as tolerance, thus averting triggers for conflict. The purpose of this writing is to highlight the importance of peer counselors in internalizing religious moderation values. This study adopts a literature review method, specifically a library research approach, where relevant literature indexed by Google Scholar within the last five years (2019-2024) is examined. The findings reveal that peer counselors play a crucial role in internalizing religious moderation values. By doing so, they contribute to conflict prevention, promote tolerance, and mitigate discrimination based on differing opinions or religious beliefs. Peer counselors internalizing religious moderation values represent a preventive measure against issues within religious moderation..

Abstract

Self-confidence is an important factor that influences students' psychological, social and academic aspects. However, some students often experience difficulties in developing self-confidence which has an impact on their social interactions and academic achievements. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design to understand the experiences of students who take part in group guidance services. The research sample consisted of 11 students who were selected purposively, and they attended three group guidance meetings. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations and field notes, which were then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to identify changes and impacts that occurred on students' self-confidence. The research results showed that the group guidance services carried out in three meetings had a positive impact on increasing students' self-confidence, which was reflected in changes in attitudes, communication skills, and courage to face social and academic challenges. These findings suggest that group tutoring services can be an effective strategy in helping students develop their self-confidence. It is hoped that this research will provide insight into the development of more effective guidance programs in schools, especially at MTsN 1 Serang City.
