Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the HOTS areas that students must master. Students can use these skills to solve contextual problems when studying automotive chemistry. The development of STEM-based instruments to measure STEM critical thinking is still rare. This study aims to develop a STEM-critical thinking assessment to measure students' critical thinking skills in the Automotive Chemistry course. This type of research is R&D which modifies the Borg and Gall model. Instruments developed in the form of questions and reasoning to determine students' critical thinking skills. The questions developed cover the dimensions of critical thinking skills, including argument analysis; answering questions for assignment determination; consider the credibility of the source; monitoring and calculating results; draw conclusions; make and evaluate decisions; define and evaluate terms; identify assumptions; and determine the action. The validation results from evaluators, learning experts and chemistry teachers show that the instrument is valid and can be used to measure students' critical thinking skills in automotive chemistry courses.

Abstract

Prospective science teacher students must be able to carry out practicum well to deliver fun learning through experiments, as well as develop the ability to collaborate. The purpose of this study is to analyze student skills in conducting practicum and collaborating after COVID-19. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research and is carried out in the even semester of 2021-2022. Observations were made to obtain an overview of the skills of Ivet University Science Education students in carrying out practicum. The results showed that the average value of students in terms of (1) time effectiveness during practicum was 91.67; (2) skills in carrying out experiments of 87.50; (3) group dynamics of 81.25; (4) seriousness in observing the experiment, namely 77.08; (5) preparation and (6) cleanliness of practicum tools with a score of 75; (7) skills in the preparation of tools and materials, namely 70.83; and (8) leadership with a score of 66.67. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that students' skills in conducting practicum and collaborating are generally good, but leadership aspects and skills in preparing tools and materials still need to be improved.

Abstract

One of the skills that need to be considered in preparing prospective science teachers is communication skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the communication skills of prospective science teacher students in conducting microteaching. The type of research used was descriptive qualitative research, namely by describing the communication skills of prospective science teacher students through the application of basic teaching skills in conducting microteaching. The communication skills observed were basic teaching skills including, 1) questioning skills, 2) explaining skills, 3) using variation skills, 4) providing reinforcement skills, 5) opening and closing lesson skills, 6) group and individual teaching skills, 7) class management skills, and 8) skills in guiding small group discussions. Based on the results of the study, the average value of the first microteaching activity was 80, the average value of the second microteaching was 84, and the average value of the third microteaching was 86. It can be concluded that the average communication skills of prospective science teacher students in conducting microteaching are in the good category.

Abstract

Lulusan SMK sudah dibekali dengan skill yang cukup mumpuni sesuai dengan bidang kejuruannya namun semakin banyaknya lulusan SMK menimbulkan persaingan yang semakin ketat dalam dunia kerja. Hal ini menyebabkan banyak siswa lulusan SMK yang mengalami keresahan dalam menentukan jenjang karir yang akan ditempuh ketika lulus, diantaranya ketatnya persaingan dalam dunia kerja, persyaratan maupun seleksi serta kemajuan teknologi. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang bimbingan karir dan motivasi lulusan SMK untuk menghadapi tantangan dalam dunia kerja. Metode pengabdian dilakukan dengan penyuluhan, diskusi dan pendampingan. Adapun hasil pengabdian diperoleh bahwa penyuluhan dan pendampingan yang disertai dengan diskusi terhadap siswa-siswi di SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Semarang berdampak positif terhadap motivasi lulusan SMK dalam dunia kerja melalui bimbingan karir.

Abstract

Abstrak Pola pengajaran yang konvensional di sekolah menjadikan siswa belum mampu menyerap konsep yang diajarkan, sehingga dibutuhkan model pembelajaran yang eksploratif dan menarik, seperti mind mapping. Pendekatan eksperimental pada kelas perlakuan dengan mind mapping dan kelas kontrol secara konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes untuk mengukur tingkat hasil belajar dan lembar observasi untuk mengukur penerapan mind mapping dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasilnya pembelajaran berjalan sesuai dengan prosedur pembelajaran. Hasil observasi pembelajaran terdapat 10 atau 36% siswa dalam kriteria sangat baik, 11 atau 39% dalam kriteria baik, 7 atau 25% dalam kriteria cukup baik dan tidak ada yang masuk kriteria kurang baik. Sedang pada observasi penugasan terdapat 8 atau 29% siswa dalam kriteria sangat baik, 13 atau 46% siswa dalam kriteria baik, 7 atau 25% siswa dalam kriteria cukup baik serta mengalami peningkatan hasil belajar dari nilai rata-rata kelas perlakuan dari 55 menjadi 86. Berdasarkan analisis korelasi t-tes tingkat signifikansi pengaruh pada level t-hitung 2,572 dan p-value 0,006. Pada analisis komparasi t-test tingkat signifikansinya berada pada level t-hitung bahwa t-hitung 3,563>t-tabel 2,052 dan p-value 0,001<p-tabel 0,001 dan berada pada derajat alpha 0,05. Pada tingkat efektifitas berdasar analisis n-gain berada pada level sedang atau cukup efektif pada taraf 0,57. Abstract The quality of education is closely related to the quality of learn, the use of learning resources in the surrounding environment has great benefits, especially in growing students learning experiences so that learning outcomes will improve. But students are have difficulty to learn in science subjects, one of the causes is a conventional teaching patterns, so it takes explorative and interesting learning models, such as mind mapping. Using experimental approaches in the experimental class is used mind mapping and conventional models to control class. Data collection techniques are used to measure the level of learning outcomes and observation the application of mind mapping process. The result of learning according to the learning procedure, the results of learning observation are 10 or 36% of students in the very well criteria, 11 or 39% in well criteria, 7 or 25% in quite good criteria, and none of the criteria is not good. While on the assignment observation there were 8 or 29% of students in very good criteria, 13 or 46% of students in good criteria, 7 or 25% of students in good enough criteria, and experienced an increase in learning outcomes from the average value of the experimental class from 55 to 86. Based on the t-test analysis the significance level of influence at the t-test level is 2,572 and the p-value is 0,006. In the comparative analysis t-test, the significance level is at the t-count level that the t-count is 3,563 > from the t-table 2,052 and the p-value is 0,001 < p-table 0,001 and is at the alpha degree 0,05. In the effective level based on the n-gain analysis is at the moderate level or quite effective at the level of 0,57. Keywords : Google classroom, improving learning outcomes, mind mapping

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) examine the quality of instruments based on PISA domain's scientific literacy in explaining scientific phenomena in the aspects of logical validity, (2) understanding empirical validity based on the VII grade science material development results, (3) knowing the level of scientific literacy of students of SMP N 3 Blora This research is a research and development (R&D) research using the Thiagarajan development model known as 4D. 4D development consists of 4 steps, namely Define, Design, Develop, Disseminat (dissemination). The research subjects of class VII students at SMP N 3 Blora discussing 98 students. Validator The questionnaire was validated by 2 expert lecturers of material, the results of the logical validity test, received 91.25% which means it was in accordance with all aspects. The test instrument was revised according to the validator's suggestion. From the results of tests on students, the results of empirical analysis obtained validity test items were 22 items valid and 8 items were invalid, with a reliability test result of 0.724 which means reliable. Difficulty test results of the test instruments were categorized as 2 difficult items, 24 moderate items and 4 easy questions. While the different power test results obtained 12 bad questions, 15 enough questions, 2 good questions and 1 negative question. Based on the validity test, empirical test instruments that were worthy of re-use were 20 questions, with poor difference but were in accordance with expert lecturers about the material that must be available to represent the material. The level of student literacy in Blora 3 N SMP overall overall is in the sufficient category.

Abstract

Adanya keterbaruan bentuk rencana pembelajaran berupa modul ajar serta adanya proses pembelajaran berdiferensiasi pada penerapan kurikulum terbaru yaitu kurikulum merdeka. Pembelajaran pada kurikulum merdeka memastikan proses pembelajaran berpusat pada peserta didik. Salah satu point penting dalam kurikulum merdeka yaitu modul ajar. Modul ajar berperan penting dalam keberhasilan proses pembelajaran terutama pada mata pelajaran IPA. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis kelayakan modul ajar ipa terintegrasi dengan permainan “egrang batok kelapa” berbasis pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Metode penelitian ini merupakan perancangan tahap awal dari kegiatan Research and Development (R&D). Jenis penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif yang mengacu pada model 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu data kuantitatif yang diperoleh skor dari lembar validasi yang memperoleh rata-rata persentase akhir sebesar 93,3% dengan kriteria sangat layak, nilai reliabilitas sangat tinggi sebesar 967,3%, hasil uji kepraktisan memperoleh persentase sebesar 94%, serta hasil uji keterbacaan oleh peserta didik memperoleh persentase 98%dan data kualitatif diperoleh dari saran dan masukan dari validator. Beradasarkan penilaian validator menyatakan bahwa modul ajar IPA terintegrasi dengan permainan “Egrang Batok Kelapa” berbasis pembelajaran berdiferensiasi layak sebagai modul ajar proses pembelajaran IPA peserta didik kelas VIII SMP/MTs.

Abstract

Tujuan pelatihan ini memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada siswa tentang teknik ecoprint, serta dapat menjadi sarana untuk melestarikan budaya dan lingkungan. Untuk mengurangi penggunaan bahan kimia berbahaya yang dapat mencemari air, udara, dan tanah seperti pewarna sintetis, perlu adanya inovasi pewarnaan kain dengan menggunakan bahan-bahan alami. Ecoprint adalah teknik pewarnaan kain dengan menggunakan bahan-bahan alami, seperti daun, bunga, batang kayu, atau buah. Teknik ini merupakan salah satu teknik yang ramah lingkungan dan dapat menjadi alternatif untuk mengembangkan industri kreatif di Indonesia. Pelatihan ini membantu siswa untuk mengembangkan kreativitas, keterampilan, dan pengetahuannya mengenai lingkungan. Peserta pelatihan adalah siswa Kelas XI SMA Negeri 15 Semarang. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan pada bulan Mei sampai dengan Oktober 2024, meliputi tiga tahap yaitu, tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan pelaporan. Adapun untuk tahap pelaksaaan, dilakukan dengan metode ceramah dan praktik ecoprint menggunakan teknik pounding. Hasil dari pelatihan ini membuat siswa memiliki kesadaran mengenai pentingnya menjaga lingkungan, siswa terampil menggunakan bahan-bahan alami dalam membuat ecoprint, siswa memiliki kreativitas dalam membuat karya seni ecoprint dengan berbagai macam motif, dan menghasilkan artikel jurnal pengabdian.

Abstract

Indonesia has a considerable diversity of local wisdom in the form of customs, arts, and culture that deserves to be preserved. Integrating local Javanese Gamelan wisdom and the STEM field in learning at the university level to support the Independent Study Campus Curricula is essential. This research aims to develop an Ethno-STEM course design that studies gamelan to preserve Javanese culture. This study chose Morrison & Kemp's learning design development model, which includes nine main components. Based on the results of KKNI curriculum analysis, literature studies, and following the nine components of Morrison & Kemp’s model, the Ethno-STEM course design course is suitable for use in learning to support independent study. AbstrakIndonesia merupakan negara yang kaya akan keberagaman kearifan lokal berupa adat istiadat, seni maupun budaya yang patut untuk dilestarikan.  Integrasi antara kearifan lokal Gamelan Jawa dengan bidang STEM dalam pembelajaran di tingkat perguruan tinggi dalam rangka mendukung Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka penting untuk dilakukan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengembangkan desain mata kuliah Ethno-STEM yang mengkaji mengenai gamelan dalam rangka melestarikan budaya  Jawa. Model pengembangan desain pembelajaran Morrison & Kemp dipilih dalam penelitian ini yang mencakup 9 komponen utama. Desain mata kuliah Ethno-STEM yang telah dikembangkan terdiri dari dokumen diantaranya yaitu model rancangan matakuliah, Rencana Pembelajaran Semester (RPS), bentuk penyetaraan SKS, rekonstruksi pembelajaran, bahan ajar, video serta aplikasi android berbasis augmented reality. Abstract

Collaboration skills are one of the skills that support 21st-century learning. Collaboration skills need to be mastered by prospective science educator students as a provision in teaching. The purpose of this study was to determine the collaboration skills of prospective science educator students in the Science and Mathematics subject. The type of research used was descriptive qualitative. The study was conducted in the even semester of the 2024-2025 academic year in the Science and Mathematics subject involving 16 students. Observations were made directly during the learning process using an observation sheet with five indicators of collaboration skills. The results showed that the collaboration skills of prospective science educator students were quite good with an average score of 74.33. The best skill was found in the indicator of sharing responsibilities in groups with a score of 81.25 while the lowest indicator was found in the indicator of working productively in groups with a score of 65.63. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that overall the collaboration skills of prospective science educator students were quite good, but still need to be improved. This can be used as a reference in developing the collaboration skills of prospective educator students.
