Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ability to understand mathematical concepts based on the theory of Kilpatrick et al., of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Gambut during the pandemic related to solving the Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) on the material of Two Variable Linear Equation System. According to the joint decision of the Minister of Education and Culture, Minister of Religion, Minister of Health, and Minister of Home Affair regarding guidelines for implementing learning during the Pandemic Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) with this research can be carried out offline. The type of research used is qualitative research. The research subjects were 18 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Gambut. The instrument used is a test of students’ mathematical understanding abilities on HOTS questions and interview sheets. In the stage of solving the problem, some student carry out the process of the correct steps but are still not optimal in completing the answer. There are also many students who do not understand the indicators of planning problem solving and many students who carry out a settlement plan but are still wrong in working on the problem. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the ability to understand students’ mathematical concepts based on solving the Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) questions at SMP Negeri 1 Gambut on SPLDV material is still low, especially in understanding the problem, activities to design problem-solving strategies, activities to perform calculations, and activities to re-examine the results or solutions.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas pemakaian Google Form pada evaluasi hasil belajar mata kuliah matematika diskrit mahasiswa UMNU Kebumen saat pandemi Covid-19. Evaluasi hasil belajar diperlukan guna mencari tahu hasil dari proses belajar mahasiswa. Pada masa pandemi Covid-19 ini, dengan adanya surat edaran pemerintah, pembelajaran dan evaluasi dilakukan secara online. Peningkatan pembelajaran online memberikan tantangan bagi para pendidik untuk memilih cara yang tepat guna memfasilitasi peserta didik dalam pembelajaran online khususnya dalam hal penilaian. Salah satu aplikasi yang dapat dipilih sebagai media evaluasi secara online adalah Google Form. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif-kuantitatif. Ada sebanyak 37 mahasiswa yang menjadi responden pada penelitian ini. Pemakaian Google Form dalam kegiatan evaluasi ternyata “efektif” dengan persentase ketuntasan mahasiswa sebesar 78.38% yaitu pada kategori “cukup baik”. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa penggunaan Google Form sebagai media evaluasi adalah efektif di masa pandemi Covid-19.

Abstract

Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa SMP pada kompetensi barisan dan deret, khususnya aritmetika. Indikator yang digunakan terdiri dari empat yaitu kemampuan mengajukan dugaan, menyajikan pernyataan matematika melalui lisan atau tulisan, melakukan manipulasi matematika, dan menarik kesimpulan atau melakukan generalisasi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Gambut, dengan subjek siswa kelas VIIIG. Dari 29 siswa yang ada, dipilih secara purposive sampling masing-masing 3 siswa dengan kategori kelompok skor tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes tertulis dan wawancara. Untuk menjamin keabsahan data dilakukan triangulasi teknik (tes dan wawancara) serta triangulasi sumber (siswa dan guru). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indikator yang paling banyak muncul adalah kemampuan melakukan manipulasi matematika, sedangkan yang paling sedikit muncul adalah kemampuan menyajikan pernyataan matematika melalui lisan atau tulisan. Disarankan agar siswa tidak hanya fokus pada kemampuan perhitungan teknis tetapi harus mampu mengubah soal cerita ke dalam pernyataan matematika yang sesuai.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the influence of developing a discovery learning model on students' mathematical connection abilities in online mathematics and economics learning. This research was conducted at the Dwi Sakti Baturaja College of Economics. The research method used in this research is pre-experiment with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design. The sample for this research consisted of 30 students. Data collection techniques use test techniques which are divided into pretest and posttest. The data processing technique uses t-test calculations with the SPSS 20 program. The research results show the influence of developing a discovery learning model on increasing students' mathematical connection abilities in online mathematics and economics courses at the Dwi Sakti Baturaja College of Economics. The average initial test score was 48.50, increasing from 37.00 to 85.50 in the final test. The test results show that the t count is 17.796 and the t-table (df 30 = 2.048). The t-count value (17.796)t-table (2.048). The results show that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be said that the development of the discovery learning model influences students' mathematical connection abilities in online mathematics and economics learning. The results of the analysis show that the R square value of the correlation analysis between the development of the discovery learning model on students' mathematical connection abilities in online learning for mathematics economics courses is 71.50\%, which means that the contribution of developing the discovery learning model has a positive influence on students' mathematical connection abilities in online learning mathematics economy.

Abstract

The goal of this study was to evaluate the quality of multiple-choice summative assessment questions in mathematics at MTs Baitul Ma'mur, even semester, grade VIII, academic year 2023/2024, using a validity test, difficulty level test, reliability test, distractor test, and discriminating power test. This study strategy employs a quantitative approach in the form of a descriptive analysis of 20 pupils. Data are supplied as question sheets, answer sheets, and answer keys. The data were analyzed using percentage description approaches obtained from Excel data processing. According to the findings of this study, the validity test contained three questions with low validity and eight questions with very poor validity. However, the results of the reliability test on the question showed a high level of consistency, and the difficulty level of the test on the question was moderate, indicating that the level of difficulty was in the good range. Furthermore, the findings of the discriminating power test on the question were incorporated into the good and useful category. Furthermore, the results of the distraction effectiveness test on the question were factored into the functional criteria. So, the multiple-choice summative assessment questions for mathematics topics at MTs Baitul Ma'mur, even semester, grade VIII, 2023/2024 academic year are deemed satisfactory, although the validity portion might be enhanced.

Abstract

Keterampilan digital, khususnya dalam pengelolaan data, merupakan kompetensi penting yang harus dimiliki siswa di era revolusi industri 4.0. Namun, masih banyak siswa yang belum menguasai perangkat lunak seperti Microsoft Excel secara optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan digital siswa SMA Negeri 1 Gambut melalui pelatihan Microsoft Excel. Metode pelatihan dilakukan secara bertahap melalui praktik langsung di laboratorium komputer. Materi pelatihan meliputi pengenalan dasar Excel, penggunaan rumus-rumus seperti SUM, AVERAGE, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, dan IF, serta praktik pembuatan output berupa kartu ujian dan kartu alumni berbasis data. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 50% siswa mengalami peningkatan dalam penguasaan fitur dan rumus dasar Excel. Selain itu, pelatihan ini juga mendorong peningkatan minat siswa dalam pengelolaan data dan kemampuan berpikir logis. Temuan ini memperkuat peran penting pelatihan berbasis praktik sebagai strategi efektif untuk meningkatkan literasi digital siswa dan kesiapan mereka menghadapi dunia kerja

Abstract

Students' lack of ability to answer questions that do not match the examples is the background for carrying out community service activities in addition to students' lack of motivation in learning. Students' fixation on examples causes students to have difficulty when given questions that are slightly different. There are several causes of students' difficulties in answering questions based on the results of analysis with the teacher, namely students' critical thinking abilities and students' numeracy literacy. These two abilities are the basis for students to solve problems using the information provided from the questions and concepts they have studied. This community service activity is carried out with the aim of providing stimulus to students to strengthen students' critical thinking and numeracy literacy skills. The stimulus is provided in the form of simple and non-routine questions using Pisa questions and questions related to third-dimensional material in the form of essays. Apart from that, it is also interspersed with math games to motivate students to learn.This activity was carried out at SMK Ma'arif NU Martapura.The results of the service show that there are five indicators of critical thinking skills and three indicators of numeracy literacy that are met. Apart from that, students also begin to have the courage to speak and show a positive attitude in learning. This can be a recommendation for teachers to provide more stimulus for non-routine questions so that students' critical thinking skills and numeracy literacy are further honed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis aplikasi web Powtoon terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VII pada materi bahasan barisan dan deret aritmetika di MTs-SA Darussalim Bati-Bati. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII sebanyak 48 siswa yang terdistribusi dalam dua kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 48 siswa yang terbagi menjadi kelas eksperimen yakni kelas VII-A sejumlah 24 orang dan kelas kontrol (VII-B) sejumlah 24 orang yang diambil dengan Teknik purposive sampling Maksimal (maximum variation sampling). Adapun jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif kuasi eksperimen menggunakan desain nonequivalent control group dalam bentuk pretest dan posttest yang menggunakan dua kelas sampel penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui hasil observasi dan tes. Pretest diberikan sebelum perlakuan untuk mengukur pemahaman awal siswa sedangkan posttest diberikan setelah diberikan perlakuan untuk mengukur pemahaman akhir siswa. Teknik analisis data hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan uji statistik One-Way ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). Hasil uji ANOVA Nilai signifikansi yang diperoleh (0,0001) jauh lebih kecil dari tingkat signifikansi yang umum digunakan (alpha = 0,05). Artinya, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa pada kedua kelompok. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran berbasis aplikasi Powtoon memberikan dampak yang positif dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional.
