Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memproduksi emping jengkol berupa kapasitas dan kualitas dalam memproduksi emping jengkol dengan mesin penumbuk emping jengkol yang memvariasikan diameter puli yang berbeda-beda dengan variasi puli ukurans berdiameter 3 inchi, 4 inchi, 5 inchi, dan puli penggerak berdiameter 1,5 inchi. Hasil dari penelitian didapat daya motor penggerak adalah ¼ HP,kecepatan tumbukan rata-rata mesin yang menggunakan variasi puli penggerak diameter 1,5 inchi dengan puli yang digerakan berdiameter 3 inchi adalah 0,36 cm/s dengan waktu rata-rata tumbukan sebesar 10,65 detik,dan kapasitas produksi emping sebesar 333 emping/jam, sedangkan untuk varasi puli penggerak diameter 1,5 inchi dengan puli yang di gerakan diameter 4 inchi didapat kecepatan rata-rata tumbukan sebesar 0,27 cm/s dengan waktu rata-rata yang dibutuhkan mesin untuk menumbuk satu buah emping adalah sebesar 14,17 detik, dan kapasitas produksi emping sebesar 257 emping/jam, dan untuk hasil penelitian menggunakan mesin penumbuk variasi puli penggeraka diameter 1,5 inchi dengan puli yang di gerakan diameter 5 inchi didapatkan kecepatan rata-rata tumbukan sebesar 0,16 cm/s dengan waktu rata-rata tumbukan sebesar 23,91 detik, dengan kapasitas produksi emping sebesar 156 emping/jam. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh hasil produksi yang baik dari ukuran puli 3 inchi dengan kecepatan rata-rata tumbukan sebesar 0,36 cm/s, dengan kapasitas 333 emping/jam.

Abstract

Most of the people in Delta Pawan District are farmers and breeders. The number of agricultural business households in Delta Pawan District is 354 cultivating food crops, 640 cultivating horticultural crops and 786 breeders. This shows that the availability of raw materials for making organic fertilizers is very abundant. The problem that has occurred until now is that the waste from agricultural and livestock products has not been utilized optimally by the community due to limited tools and knowledge in processing it into organic fertilizer. The purpose of this activity is to provide motivation and knowledge to the residents of Kalinilam village to utilize agricultural and livestock waste into organic fertilizer which is abundantly available. The method used to overcome these problems is to provide training to Kalinilam villagers on how to process agricultural and livestock waste into organic fertilizer using a compost chopper. This service activity will be carried out in July 2024 with 2 stages, namely socialization and counseling as well as training and assistance in making compost. The result of the service of this training program is an increase in the knowledge of villagers about processing agricultural and livestock waste into organic fertilizer so that it can increase the utilization of waste into more useful products

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has made many changes, especially in the field of education.  Learning, which was originally carried out face-to-face, is required to switch online for both theory and practicum courses. Students' perception of online lectures can help students improve their understanding and knowledge of the courses they take, in this case food analysis courses. This study aims to find out students' perception of practicum with demonstration videos in food analysis courses. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The sample was taken using a simple random sampling technique totaling 50 students.    Research data was obtained using questionnaires and in-depth interviews.  Student perception can be seen from three aspects, namely the teaching and learning process, lecturers' abilities and facilities and infrastructure that are assessed using the Likert scale. The data analysis techniques used in this study are qualitative analysis, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. Overall, student perception in all aspects has an average of 60.92% consisting of 59.6% of teaching and learning activities, 68.7% of lecturer competence and 54.4% of facilities and infrastructure, so that students' perception of practicum with video demonstrations in food analysis courses is positive

Abstract

Betel nut is one of leading agricultural commodity in Indonesia. The economic prospect of Betel Nut could support financially the people which resided in country-side to a new level of prosperity. The increasing of betel nut demand especially which derived from outside of country such as India and Thailand of the Betel Nut which is used as the raw material for medicine and cosmetic products will need new machine design of betel nut cutter to supply the demand. Current process of betel nut manufacture is still use a hand-tool for cutting the Betel Nut in rural areas. It takes lot of time and resulted low productivity. The design of the machine betel nut manufacture provides the solution to increase the productivity and low production cost because of cut in half process is still manually. This equipment can produce the cutting work with average 300 Betel Nut per hour. The force resulting from lever is 0.03 N and the cutting speed for 1 fruit only takes 4 seconds. This equipment is able to cut in half of two or three the Betel Nut in one time. This cutting machine prototype has been used widely in rural area of Riau province like village of Penyalai-Kuala Kampar, district of Pelalawan and several villages in the district of Indragiri Hilir.
