Abstract

Abstract This research is qualitative research with a case study approach. This study aims to describe the level of students' problem-solving in fraction operations. The subjects of this study were three students of SDN 70 Manjalling who had low, moderate, and high abilities in solving fractions. Data were collected through written tests and individual interviews to obtain valid information. The results showed that students with high problem-solving abilities were able to apply all of Polya's problem-solving steps. Students with moderate problem-solving abilities could not do all of Polya's problem-solving steps. They only applied steps of understanding the problem and making a solution plan. Students with low abilities found it challenging to use fractions and were unable to use each step to solve the Polya's problem. Those students could only apply steps of understanding the problem and making a solution plan, but they did not understand the problem and could not convert it into mathematical forms.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and describe the mathematical communication skills of statistical material in terms of the self-confidence of class VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah Limbung. This research is a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were 6 students of class VIII-9 who were selected based on self-confidence grouping, namely 2 students who had high self-confidence, 2 students who had moderate self-confidence, and 2 students who had low self-confidence. The instruments used in this study were self-confidence questionnaires, mathematical communication skills tests, and interview guidelines. the data analysis techniques used are data condensation, data presentation, and data verification. The results show that: 1) Students who have high self-confidence, have an average mathematical communication ability of 91.67 which is included in the high category, based on indicators show that they are able to master written text, drawing and mathematical expressions indicators, 2) students who have moderate self-confidence, have an average mathematical communication ability of 45.8 which is included in the medium category, based on indicators showing that they are less able to master written text, drawing and mathematical expressions indicators and 3) students who have low self-confidence, have an average the average mathematical communication ability is 16.7 which is included in the low category, based on indicators showing that they are not able to master written text and mathematical expressions indicators, for drawing indicators.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas VI SD yang dipengaruhi oleh kurangnya dukungan orang tua, dan media pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran word wall untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah (R&D), dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model Borg & Gall. Subjek penelitian ini melibatkan 28 siswa kelas VI,. Metode pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, angket, dan tes. Analisis data mencakup uji normalitas, uji T-test, dan uji N-gain. Hasil penelitian yaitu media WORD WAL dinilai layak tingkat keberhasilan mencapai 88-94. Hasil uji N-gain menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan membaca siswa kategori sedang. Disimpulkan media yang dikembangkan dan layak serta efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas VI SD. Implikasi penelitian ini mencakup peran media dalam pembelajaran yang melibatkan siswa secara aktif

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karangan melalui metode brainstorming. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Melayu Muhammadiyah sebanyak 21 siswa yang terdiri dari 11 laki-laki dan 10 perempuan. Objek penelitian ini berupa penggunaan metode brainstorming dan keterampilan menulis karangan. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar observasi, tes dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kuantatif dan kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan sebanyak 2 siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada siklus 1 nilai rata-rata siswa yaitu 74, kemudian nilai rata-rata kelas pada siklus 2 terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan dalam keterampilan menulis karangan. Sebagian besar siswa (86%) telah mencapai standar ketuntasan minimal, dengan nilai rata-rata yang meningkat menjadi 82.
