Abstract

The development of molecular biology and genetic engineering, now allow the formation of an effective and specific cancer treatment. Modern cancer treatment has grown rapidly, thus giving a chance to discover a new method that is more promising than the previous treatment. Virotherapy is one of cancer therapy that use the replication-competent viruses to destroy cancer cells. Oncolytic virus (virus used as virotherapy) must be modified by genetic engineering before it can be used as virotherapy.Once modified, oncolytic virus destroys cancer cells through the replication, apoptosis induction, cell lysis through the release of progeny viruses, and activation of immune system. The immune system will be responsible for neutralizing the virus after tumour lysis process, and the immune system will also destroy the remaining tumor cells, although virus already neutralized from the body.

Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang masih rendah menjadi permasalahan dalam penelitian ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran Course Review Horay dengan siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran Student Teams Achievement Divisio. Metode penelitian yaitu kuasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa salah satu SMP Negeri di Garut dengan sampel siswa kelas VII C dan VII D, sebanyak 50 siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji normalitas, uji honogenitas, dan uji t, Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran Cause Review Horay dengan siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran Student Teams Achivment Division. Kualitas peningkatan Kelas Cause Review Horay dan kelas Student Teams Achivment Division sama-sama menunjukan kriteria sedang, kelas Cause Review Horay menunjukan sikap yang baik dan kelas Student Teams Achivment Division menujukan sikap cukup. Students' low mathematical communication skills are a problem in this study. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in mathematical communication skills between students who received the Course Review Horay learning model and students who received the Student Teams Achievement Division learning model. The research method is quasi-experimental. The population in this study were students of one of the state junior high schools in Garut with a sample of 50 students in class VII C and VII D. Data analysis was carried out by normality test, homogeneity test, and t-test. The results showed that there was an increase in mathematical communication skills between students who received the Cause Review Horay learning model and students who received the Student Teams Achievement Division learning model. The quality of improvement in the Class Cause Horay Review and the Student Teams Achievement Division class both show moderate criteria, the Horay Review Cause class shows a good attitude, and the Student Teams Achievement Division class shows a sufficient attitude.

Abstract

Dalam pembelajaran matematika pemahaman merupakan hal yang sangat penting dan merupakan langkah dasar dalam proses pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui kemampuan dan peningkatan pemahaman matematis siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran Mood–Understand-Recall-Digest-Expand-Review (MURDER) dan yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen di SMP Negeri 1 Cisurupan kelas VII dengan sampel dua kelas, yaitu kelas VII F sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan MURDER dan kelas VII G dengan menggunakan Discovery Learning, serta materi yang diajarkan mengenai bangun datar segi empat. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji normalitas dan statistic nonparametric. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa antara yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran MURDER lebih baik dari pada siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning. Peningkatan pemahaman matematis siswa terhadap model pembelajaran MURDER dengan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning yaitu tinggi – sedang. Students’ mathematical understanding is still low, so it is needed model learning that helps students to be active and creative in learning; including the Mood–Understand-Recall-Digest-Expand-Review (MURDER) learning model with the Discovery Learning learning model. The purpose of this study is to determine the ability and increase of mathematical understanding of students who get the MURDER learning model and those who get the Discovery Learning learning model. This research is a quasi-experimental study in Cisurupan State Middle 1 class VII with a sample of two classes, namely class VII F as an experimental class using MURDER and VII G classes using the model Discovery Learning, as well as the material taught about rectangular flat builds. Data analysis was performed with normality tests and non-parametric statistics. Based on the results of the analysis, the ability of students' mathematical understanding between those who get the learning model MURDER is better than students who get the Discovery Learning learning model. Increasing students' mathematical understanding of the MURDER learning model with the Discovery Learning model, which is high - medium.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal verbal melatarbelakangi penelitian ini. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Metode penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Daerah Ciawitali dengan sampel sebanyak 5 siswa SMP. Instrumen penelitian berupa empat soal tes uraian dan wawancara. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa beberapa kesulitan yang muncul pada saat siswa mengerjakan soal komunikasi matematis pada materi penyajian data yaitu kesulitan dalam menyimpulkan, memahami dan menginterpretasi ide matematika, melakukan perhitungan, dan kesulitan menyusun kata-kata untuk menjelaskan kembali pernyataan. Berdasar pada kesulitan yang terjadi, kemampuan komunikasi dapat ditingkatkan dengan berfokus mengatasi kesulitan-kesulitan tersebut. The low mathematical communication skills and students' difficulties in solving verbal problems are the backgrounds of this research. The purpose of the study was to determine the students' difficulties in solving mathematical communication skills problems. This research method is qualitative. The research was carried out in the Ciawitali area with a sample of 5 junior high school students in the area. The research instrument was in the form of a description test with four questions and interviews. The results of the analysis show that some of the difficulties that arise when students work on mathematical communication problems in data presentation material are difficulties in concluding, understanding and interpreting mathematical ideas, performing calculations, and difficulties in composing words to explain statements. Based on the difficulties that occur, communication skills can be improved by focusing on overcoming these difficulties.

Abstract

Salah satu upaya dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dan kemandirian belajar siswa ialah dengan melakukan inovasi pada model pembelajaran yang digunakan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi dan kemandirian belajar siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dan Discovery Learning. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 6 Garut, metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Quasi Eksperiment Design dengan menggunakan dua kelas sebagai sampel yaitu kelas X MIPA 7 sebagai kelas eksperimen 1 yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dan X MIPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen 2 yaitu kelas yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning. Siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dan Discovery Learning mengalami peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dalam kategori tinggi dan sedang. Kemandirian belajar siswa yang mendapatkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dan Discovery Learning pada umumnya rendah dan sedang. One effort to improve students' mathematical communication skills and student learning independence is to innovate the use of the learning model. The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in the improvement of communication skills and learning independence of students who are taught Problem Based Learning and Discovery Learning. This research was conducted in Senior High School 6 Garut, this research employed Quasi Experiment Design by using two classes as samples namely class X MIPA 7 as an experimental class 1 using the Problem Based Learning model while X MIPA 2 as an experimental class 2 using Discovery Learning model. Students who are taught Problem Based Learning and Discovery Learning have increased mathematical communication skills in the high and medium categories. The learning independence of students who get the Problem Based Learning and Discovery Learning model is generally low and moderate.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penerapan model kooperatif tipe generative learning. Jenis penelitian adalah kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experiment dan desain yang digunakan yaitu pre-experimental. Populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh siswa kelas VIII dan sampel penelitian adalah kelas VIII-E salah satu SMP di kota Garut. Berdasarkan hasil uji-t dan uji-z diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penerapan model kooperatif tipe generative learning efektif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. This research aims to determine the application of the generative learning type cooperative model. The type of research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental method and the design used is pre-experimental. The research population was all class VIII students and the research sample was class VIII-E, one of the junior high schools in the city of Garut.  Based on the results of the t-test and z-test, it was concluded that the application of the generative learning type cooperative model was effective on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Abstrak ─ Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan efektifitas perkuliahan teori graf menggunakan media pembelajaran multiplatform secara daring. Media yang digunakan adalah zoom, whatsapp, Ebook, dan modul. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa di suatu perguruan tinggi di Garut, yang mengambil mata kuliah Matematika Diskrit. Jumlah subjek penelitian ada 28 mahasiswa, tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah nilai tertinggi 3,38 dan terendah 1,75. Rata-rata subjek penelitian bernilai 2,54. Dari hasil analisa data diperoleh bahwa 14% meraih efektifitas dalam kategori tinggi, 75% meraih efektifitas dalam kategori sedang, dan 11% masih memiliki efektifitas rendah. Dari hasil observasi dan wawancara yang memiliki efektifitas tinggi mereka memiliki gaya belajar yang memperlihatkan kemandirian yang baik dalam belajar. Masih banyak hal yang bisa kita upayakan agar kualitas perkuliahan teori graf dapat lebih efektif walaupun harus secara daring. Kata Kunci ─ Efektifitas, Graf, Media Pembelajaran Abstract ─ The purpose of this study is to describe the effectiveness of graph theory lectures using online multi-platform learning media. The media used are zoom, whatsapp, ebook, and modules. The subjects of this research are students at a university in Garut, who take Discrete Mathematics courses. The number of research subjects is 28 students, for the 2021/2022 academic year. This research uses descriptive research method. The instrument used is a test. The conclusion obtained from this research is that the highest value is 3.38 and the lowest is 1.75. The average research subject is worth 2.54. From the results of data analysis, it was found that 14% achieved effectiveness in the high category, 75% achieved effectiveness in the medium category, and 11% still had low effectiveness. From the results of observations and interviews that have high effectiveness, they have a learning style that shows good independence in learning. There are still many things that we can try to make the quality of graph theory lectures more effective even though they have to be online. Keywords ─ Effectiveness, Graph, Media Learning

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self confidence siswa antara yang mendapatkan media video pembelajaran dan alat peraga. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes uraian dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada kelas media video sebesar 11,67 dan kelas alat peraga sebesar 9,46. Nilai rata-rata self confidence siswa pada kelas media video sebesar 40,97 dan pada kelas alat peraga sebesar 37,12. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self confidence antara siswa yang mendapatkan media video pembelajaran dan alat peraga. The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in mathematical problem-solving ability and self-confidence of students between those who received learning video media and teaching aids. The research method used was quasi-experimental. The research instruments used were descriptive tests and questionnaires. The results showed that the average value of the problem-solving ability test in the video media class was 11.67 and the teaching aid class was 9.46. The average value of students' self-confidence in the video media class was 40.97 and in the teaching aid class was 37.12. It was concluded that there were differences in mathematical problem-solving ability and self-confidence between students who received learning video media and teaching aids.

Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan self-confidence penting dalam pembelajaran matematika. Namun, banyak siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mengungkapkan ide matematis dan kurang percaya diri dalam pembelajaran. Diperlukan model pembelajaran inovatif seperti Inquiry Learning dan Discovery Learning yang melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan self-confidence antara siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model Inquiry dan Discovery Learning, serta mengkaji hubungan antara kedua kemampuan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan kuesioner, dianalisis menggunakan Independent Sample t-test dan uji t’ untuk membandingkan peningkatan, serta uji korelasi Pearson untuk melihat hubungan antar variabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan self-confidence antara kedua model pembelajaran. Namun, tidak ditemukan hubungan antara peningkatan komunikasi matematis dan self-confidence dalam masing-masing model. Mathematical communication skills and self-confidence are two important aspects in learning mathematics. However, many students still have difficulty expressing mathematical ideas and lack confidence in learning. Therefore, innovative learning models such as Inquiry Learning and Discovery Learning are needed that actively involve students. This study aims to analyze the differences in the improvement of mathematical communication skills and self-confidence between students who are taught with the Inquiry and Discovery Learning models, and to examine the relationship between the two abilities. The method used is a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected through tests and questionnaires, then analyzed using the Independent Sample t-test and t' test to compare improvements, and the Pearson correlation test to see the relationship between variables. The results showed differences in the improvement of mathematical communication skills and self-confidence between the two learning models. However, no relationship was found between the improvement of mathematical communication and self-confidence in each model.
