Abstract

Employee performance is the result of an individual's efforts in carrying out their duties and responsibilities, which is reflected in the quality and quantity of work achieved. PT. Mitra Tunas Harapan, a company engaged in providing construction services in Cilegon, has various activities that include planning, design, project supervision, and construction management services. To achieve company goals, employee performance is one of the important factors influencing the company's operational success. Several factors believed to influence employee performance include communication and workload. This study aims to analyze the effect of communication and workload on employee performance at PT. Mitra Tunas Harapan. This study involved a population consisting of 36 employees at the company. The sampling technique used was nonprobability sampling with a total sampling method, meaning the entire population was sampled in this study. The results showed that communication partially had a positive and significant effect on employee performance. This indicates that good communication between superiors and employees, as well as between employees, can improve task understanding and streamline work processes, which ultimately contribute to improved performance. In addition, workload was also shown to have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. A workload that matches employee capacity can improve their productivity and work quality. Simultaneously, both communication and workload have a positive and significant impact on employee performance. Therefore, companies need to address both factors to improve employee performance and optimally achieve company goals. Furthermore, this study highlights the importance of effective communication management within organizations. Clear and open communication between managers and employees can reduce misunderstandings and improve coordination in carrying out tasks.

Abstract

Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Data analysis used validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination (R²) tests, t tests, and F tests with the help of SPSS software. The results of the study indicate that partially curriculum management has a positive and significant effect on the quality of learning, with a tcount value of 1.906 which is greater than the ttable of 1.675, and a significance value of 0.043 (<0.05). Professional development also has a positive and significant effect on the quality of learning, with a tcount value of 2.000 which is greater than the ttable of 1.675, and a significance value of 0.004 (<0.05). Simultaneously, curriculum management and professional development have a positive and significant effect on the quality of learning, with an Fcount value of 34.493 which is greater than the Ftable of 3.18, and a significance value of 0.004 (<0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.389 indicates that curriculum management and professional development together contribute 38.9% to the quality of learning, while the remaining 61.1% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.

Abstract

Productivity pressures, target-based work systems, shift arrangements, and high psychological demands make the manufacturing industry vulnerable to work-life balance issues and employee job stress. These conditions have the potential to reduce performance and increase turnover intentions, especially when they trigger burnout. This study aims to analyze the effect of work-life balance and job stress on employee performance and turnover intentions, with burnout as a mediating variable, among manufacturing industry employees in Tangerang Regency, Banten. The study used a quantitative explanatory approach with a survey method of 200 employees. Data analysis was conducted using multiple regression, path analysis, and bootstrapping mediation tests. The results showed that work-life balance reduces burnout and improves performance, while simultaneously suppressing turnover intentions. Conversely, job stress increases burnout and has an indirect impact on decreased performance and increased turnover intentions through burnout. Burnout has been shown to play a key mediator explaining the relationship between work-life balance, job stress, and work outcomes. These findings strengthen the relevance of Job Demands–Resources Theory in the context of the manufacturing industry. Practically, companies need to manage workloads, strengthen superior support, and implement burnout prevention strategies to maintain performance and reduce employee turnover.
