Abstract

Padina sp. seaweed is one of the Chlorophyta which has potential as an antimicrobial. This study aimed to determine the antimicrobial activity of Padina sp. seaweed endophytic bacteria against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of the isolation of endophytic microbes of Padina sp. seaweed obtained were seven isolates DP1, DP2, DP3, DP4, AP1, AP2, and AP3. The results of the antimicrobial activity test showed that the seven isolates of endophytic bacteria had potential as antimicrobials. Incubation time for 24 hours showed that the diameter of the inhibition zone formed was 9.75 – 11.55 mm against S. aureus and 7.15 – 10.0 mm against bacteria. E. coli. The AP3 and DP1 isolates had a wider zone, presumably because their antibacterial substances were higher than the other isolates.

Abstract

Untuk dapat menciptakan suasana aktif dalam poses pembelajaran sangat dipengauhi oleh penggunaan model pembelajaran yaitu dengan model pembelajaan Tutor Sebaya. Tujuan penelittian ini adalah: 1) Untuk mengkaji pengaruh model pembelajaran tutor sebaya terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia kelas XI IPA SMA Kristen Pontak, 2) Meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini memakai metode eksperimen semu (quasi experiment). Sampel yang dipakai pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diajarkan dengan model tutor sebaya dan kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang diajarkan dengan tidak diberikan model tutor sebaya. Teknik pengumpulan data yakni dengan tes berbentuk pilihan ganda. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwasannya rata-rata hasil belajar kelompok kelas ekspeimen adalah 83 sedangkan rata-rata hasil belajar keompok kelas kontrol adalah 73. Kesimpulannya adalah terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Tutor Sebaya terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi sstem pencernaan manusia kelas XI IPA SMA Kristen Pontak.

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of students in Biology learning at SMA Negeri 1 Tutuyan is the background for the need for learning innovations that are able to increase active participation and conceptual understanding. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Group Investigation learning model in improving student learning outcomes in Cell materials. The research used a pseudo-experiment method with a one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample amounted to 35 students from class XI Science who were selected purposefully. The instruments used were multiple-choice tests, pre-tests and post-tests of 25 questions for each test. The results showed an increase in the average score from 23.14 in the pre-test to 83.14 in the post-test. Inferential data analysis using the t-test showed a t-calculated value of 89.55, far above the t-table at a significance level of 5%. The category of student learning outcomes has also undergone significant changes, from a very low majority to a high and very high majority. The application of the Group Investigation model encourages students to be active in investigation, group discussions, and independent learning, which strengthens their collective and individual mastery of the material. These findings prove that the Group Investigation model is effective in improving learning outcomes, and can be implemented as a learning strategy in the Independent Learning Curriculum. This study contributes to the development of cooperative learning models in the context of Biology learning at the high school level, and can be replicated in other materials and levels to strengthen its effectiveness.

Abstract

Minimnya model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan tidak adanya proses pembelajaran dua arah turut menyebabkan buruknya hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PjBL) terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran sistem pernafasan manusia di kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Motoling. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah pendekatan project-based learning (PjBL) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran sistem pernapasan manusia di kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Motoling. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Motoling pada bulan Maret 2024 dengan menggunakan pendekatan eksperimen semu. Kelas eksperimen pada penelitian ini terdiri dari siswa kelas XI-3, sedangkan kelas kontrol terdiri dari siswa kelas XI-6. Kedua kelas akan menjalani penilaian hasil belajar berupa pre-test dan post-test. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PJBL) memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran sistem pernapasan manusia di kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Motoling. Hasil uji t yang dihasilkan dengan menggunakan Microsoft Excel menunjukkan nilai thitung lebih besar dari nilai ttabel yaitu 6,38 > 1,69. Oleh karena itu hipotesis nol (Ho) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (H1) diterima. Bukti menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PJBL) mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran sistem pernafasan manusia di kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Motoling.

Abstract

This research was conducted in class IX of Dian Todahe Middle School for the 2021/2022 academic year, with 25 students as subjects. This research aims to improve student learning outcomes by applying the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach to learning the movement of living creatures. This particular form of research is included in classroom action research (CAR) classification. This research examines student learning outcomes by analyzing their test scores before and after their involvement in the learning process, with a particular focus on Biology education, which is related to the movement of living things. Research findings show an increase in student performance during cycle II, which is then accompanied by an increase in student engagement. Of the total number of students, 22 (88%) completed their studies by getting a maximum score of 65. On the other hand, three students (12%) could only complete their studies if they scored below 65. The learning outcomes achieved in cycle II have fulfilled the requirements for completion. Traditionally, there has been a visible improvement in students' understanding of the subject matter.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a mobile learning media product using an articulate storyline application on human circulatory system material that is feasible and can be used by students at SMA Negeri 1 Amurang. Mobile learning media using the articulate storyline application is needed by school teachers to help during the learning process. This type of research is Research and Development / R&D development research using the ADDIE model. This model, as the name suggests, is Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The test instrument in this research is the product validity results from material and media experts. The data analysis techniques used are qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results of this research: 1) Development of mobile learning media using the articulate storyline application on the circulatory system material. 2) The quality of mobile learning aids on human circulatory system material is excellent. The assessment results from learning material experts obtained a feasibility percentage score of 85% for the very valid category. The assessment results from learning media experts obtained a feasibility percentage score of 89.9% for the very valid category. The response of students in class XI MIPA was in the perfect/exciting criteria with a percentage of 87.5%. It was concluded that the mobile learning media using the articulate storyline application on the circulatory system material at SMA Negeri 1 Amurang is very suitable to be used as a source of teaching material in the learning process.

Abstract

This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a pretest and post-test control group design research design. This research uses the Numbered Head Together Cooperative Learning model to improve student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 2 Tondano for the 2022/20223 academic year. The sample in this study was class. The average post-test score obtained in the experimental class was 87.7, and the average in the control class was 78.1. The data analysis technique used is the t-test with the condition that the data comes from a normally distributed and homogeneous population—test normality using the Lililefors test and homogeneity. Based on the hypothesis of the research statistical data, a tcount of 2,730 was obtained. Based on the ttable with α=0.005 and degrees of freedom (dk) = n1 + n2 -2 =20+20-2= 38, By looking at the ttable, we get ttable = 1.688. So tcount is greater than ttable, namely tcount = 2,730 > ttable = 1,688. Thus, according to the test criteria, if tcount > ttable, then H0 is rejected, so hypothesis H1 is accepted, and it is concluded that there is an influence of using the Numbered Head Together model on student learning outcomes in the human respiratory system material at SMA Negeri 2 Tondano.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum at SMA Negeri 1 Sula Islands, an educational institution located in the archipelago with its own geographical characteristics and challenges. The focus of this study is to assess the effectiveness of curriculum implementation in shaping a flexible, participatory, and contextual learning experience. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, data was collected through questionnaires of school principals, vice principals for curriculum and student affairs, and grade XI science and social studies students. The results of the study showed that all respondents from school management gave an assessment of the "Very Good" category to the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. Meanwhile, students in grade XI Science gave 92% of responses in the "Very Good" category, and students in grade XI Social Studies recorded 74% in the same category, with a small percentage being in the "Poor" category. These findings indicate that the Independent Curriculum approach that emphasizes project-based learning, learning differentiation, and formative assessment has been successfully adapted effectively by teachers and students. Teacher training support, availability of facilities, and adaptation to the local context have all contributed to this success. The implications of this study show that the Independent Curriculum can be effectively implemented in the archipelago if supported by visionary school leadership and continuous training. This study makes an empirical contribution to the national education reform literature and opens further research opportunities on curriculum adaptation in the 3T region.

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelagic country with a tropical climate so it has a large forest area. High rainfall and sufficient solar irradiation make the diversity of living things both flora and fauna very high. This study aims to identify and determine the level of diversity of forestry plants in the forest area of Manado State University, North Sulawesi. This research will be carried out in April - May 2023 in the forest area of Manado State University, North Sulawesi. Sampling in this study was carried out using the Purposive Sampling (Judgmental Sampling) technique with 9 plots in 3 observation stations. The results of the study found that in all sampling plots, there were 17 individuals of forestry plants with 9 species. The highest Important Value Index (IVI) belongs to the species Petrocarpus indicus with an IVI of 61%. The Shannon Winner diversity index H = 2.07 was found to be in the medium category.
