Abstract

The realization of agribusiness actors is carried out through rolling agricultural strengthening facilities in the context of strengthening group institutional finances, increasing entrepreneurship and fostering productive economic businesses. The agribusiness community empowerment program through business strengthening groups is a follow-up to previous empowerment programs. In this way, it is hoped that there will be no more confusion in the interpretation of this empowerment program with direct community assistance. It is hoped that this kind of empowerment pattern can stimulate the growth of agribusiness business groups and accelerate the formation of agribusiness institutional networks in the West Halmahera region. So that agricultural development programs can be achieved and implemented carefully. The results of the service show that the strategy for empowering the agribusiness community in optimizing agribusiness potential is by using 4 strategies, namely: 1) providing support for empowering the agribusiness community in the form of procuring agricultural production facilities; 2) strive to create regional regulations that can support the empowerment of agribusiness communities; 3) empowering the agribusiness community as a whole through active participation from the local government; and 4) provide coaching or guidance to each individual/farmer group on how to properly empower the agribusiness community

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian di Dusun Bangkok Halmahera Barat adalah untuk meningkatkan nilai jual sagu di pasaran dengan mengadakan pelatihan pengemasan dan perizinan untuk bisa mencapai pasar yang luas di Masyarakat. Dengan melaksanakan kegiatan pelatihan tentang pemasaran dan mekanisme izin p-irt. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan pemberdayaan usaha ekonomi Masyarakat di Desa Bangkok Kabupaten Halmahera Barat, yaitu (1) Diskusi awal; (2) Kunjungan lokasi; (3) Penyusunan materi; dan (4) Pelaksanaan kegiatan. Hasil yang dicapai dalam pelaksanaan pemberdayaan usaha ekonomi masyarakat pada Desa Bangkok Kabupaten Halmahera Barat, yaitu (1) Peningkatan produktivitas usaha ekonomi masyarakat dan sebagai solusi untuk mengurangi angka pengangguran dan kemiskinan; dan (2) Pengembangan usaha ekonomi masyarakat yang terintegrasi dengan pengembangan potensi pertanian. Indeks kinerja utama (IKU) yang ingin dicapai, antara lain: (1) Peningkatan produktivitas usaha ekonomi dan pendapatan masyarakat; dan (2) Penguasaan teknologi oleh Mitra dalam mendukung tata kelola dan pemasaran produk.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: The aim of this service activity is to empower the community in Golago Kusuma Village by making economically valuable animal feed. The method of implementing this service is in the form of socialization and training. The partners of this service are the community in Golago Kusuma Village, West Halmahera Regency. Activity evaluation is carried out by giving a pretest and posttest and analyzed descriptively. The results of this service activity are increasing partners' understanding and skills regarding the use of yard land, nutrition and content of corn plants, how to cultivate and make animal feed from corn. Apart from that, the community also sees opportunities for food from corn sprouts for entrepreneurship. Corn cultivators can make animal feed easily, the raw materials used in making feed can be obtained in the surrounding area, making it easier for farmers to make feed.Keywords: Feed, Livestock, Corn, Sprouts and Marketing ABSTRAK: Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberdayakan masyarakat di Desa Golago Kusuma melalui pembuatan pakan pakan ternak yang bernilai ekonomis. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini berupa sosialisasi dan pelatihan. Mitra pengabdian ini yakni masyarakat di Desa Golago Kusuma Kabupaten Halmahera Barat. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan dengan memberikan pretest dan posttest dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu meningkatnya pemahaman dan ketrampilan mitra mengenai pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan, nutrisi dan kandungan dari tanaman jagung, cara budidaya dan pembuatan pakan ternak dari jagung. Selain itu, masyarakat juga mengetahui peluang pakan dari kecamba jagung untuk wirausaha. Pembuatan pakan ternak dapat dilakukan oleh pembudidaya tanaman jagung dengan mudah, bahan baku yang digunakan dalam pembuatan pakan dapat diperoleh di wilayah sekitar sehingga mempermudah pembudidaya untuk membuat pakan.Kata Kunci: Pakan, Ternak, Jagung, Kecamba dan Pemasaran

Abstract

Red onions (Allium cepa) are mostly using in cooking and being one of strategic horticulture commodities in Indonesia. Topo red onions are native plant from Topo-Tidore Island-North Maluku, Indonesia. It has a higher spicy taste compared to other types of red onions and has a fairlystrong essential aroma. This has been cultivated since centuries by the local community in that area. The aim of this study was to identify the preferences consumers toward Topo red onions in North Maluku. The research was conducted in the central market of Tidore, using accidental sampling for 60 respondents who were consumers of Topo red onions. The method used was a survey and interview with likert scale questions. The manalytical method used for this study is descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression. The independent variables are including culture, price and quality. Whilst, the dependent variable is consumer preferences. The results showed that the factors of culture (X1), Price (X2) and Quality of product (X3) simultaneously have a significant effect on consumer preferences toward Topo red onions.

Abstract

Digital marketing of horticultural commodities can improve the economy and the welfare of the community, especially farmers. However, most farmers in South Halmahera Regency still rely on traditional marketing methods, such as direct sales to the local market or through middlemen. Therefore, service activities need to be held and packaged in a form of trainings, including training on the importance of digital marketing and also mentoring activities. The training participants in this activity were horticultural farmers who looked very enthusiastic about the training material provided, this can be seen from the beginning to the end of the activity all participants followed well. The expected output target is to increase the skills of horticultural farmers in South Halmahera Regency about digital technology in marketing their agricultural products and provide opportunities to increase the income of horticultural farmers in South Halmahera Regency

Abstract

Indonesia has a diverse of new and renewable energy sources including biofuels. Biofuels are promising eco-friendly energy sources generated from biological raw materials. Biofuels can also be derived from the seeds of  Capilong trees. However, the occurrence of Capilong trees in North Maluku has not been tapped to support a local economic income due to the lack of knowledge  of the local community. The present study was undertaken with the aim at investigating the distribution and number of Capilong trees across Ternate Island. A field investigation using a census method was held to collect data on the number and distribution of Capilong trees while observing the following parameters: stage of growth, topography, rock materials and landforms. The findings revealed that Capilong trees are mostly occurred in a tree group, while the seedling population number was low. Interestingly, Capilong trees have demonstrated a natural characteristic that are tolerance to various topography, rock materials and landforms condition. It is therefore recommended to cultivate the plant through a community development program and classify the plant as a potential species that can be used for land rehabilitation programs.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe banana chips business is a business that has the potential to be developed because it uses bananas which are widely produced in North Maluku Province and are very popular with the public because they have a distinctive taste and low prices. This large business potential means that the banana chips business is currently being pursued by many people, including residents in North Ternate District. The chip business carried out by the people around North Ternate is still carried out conventionally and independently with minimal working capital because it is generally personal capital. The problems faced by household banana chip entrepreneurs include that the process of making banana chips is still done conventionally so that the production capacity of chips is low with one flavor variant.Keywords: MSMEs, Chips, Flavor Variants, Cheap and BananaABSTRAKUsaha Keripik pisang merupakan salah satu usaha yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan karena menggunakan bahan dasar pisang yang banyak dihasilkan di Propinsi Maluku Utara serta sangat digemari oleh masyarakat karena memiliki cita rasa yang khas serta harga yang murah. Potensi usaha yang besar ini menyebabkaan usaha keripik pisang saat ini banyak ditekuni oleh masyarakat diantaranya adalah penduduk di Kecamatan Ternate Utara. Usaha keripik yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat di sekitar Ternate Utara masih dilakukan secara konvensional dan mandiri dengan modal kerja yang minim karena pada umumnya merupakan modal pribadi. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh pengusaha keripik pisang rumah tangga ini diantaranya adalah proses pembuatan keripik pisang masih dilakukan secara konvensional sehingga kapasitas produksi keripik rendah dengan satu varian rasa.Kata Kunci: UMKM, Keripik, Varian Rasa, Murah dan Pisang

Abstract

Vertikultur merupakan salah satu metode inovatif yang memungkinkan budidaya tanaman dilakukan secara vertikal sehingga dapat mengoptimalkan penggunaan ruang pada lahan terbatas. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan konsep vertikultur sebagai suatu sistem budidaya untuk mendukung pelestarian lingkungan serta memperkenalkan konsep ketahanan pangan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan pada lahan sempit dan terbatas dengan metode yang digunakan berupa sosialisasi dan demonstrasi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini meningkatkan pengetahuan dan memberikan gambaran bahwa penggunaan vertikultur sebagai konsep budidaya tanaman secara vertikal dapat dijadikan alternatif solusi untuk mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan lahan terbatas, dapat dimodifikasi sesuai kebutuhan dan kondisi serta dapat diimplementasikan secara luas sehingga dapat berkontribusi positif terhadap keberlanjutan lingkungan dan ketahanan pangan.
