Abstract

Anak usia sekolah adalah generasi penerus bangsa dimana kualitas bangsa di masa depan ditentukan oleh kualitas anak-anak saat ini. Namun fakta yang ditemukan banyak anak usia sekolah dasar yang memiliki permasalahan gizi terutama stunting. Stunting merupakan keadaan tubuh yang sangat pendek hingga melampaui defisit 2 SD (Standar Deviasi) di bawah median panjang atau tinggi badan populasi yang menjadi referensi internasional. Keadaan ini diinterpretasikan sebagai keadaan malnutrisi kronis. Tujuan dilakukan kegiatan deteksi ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi gejala anemia, riwayat penyakit infeksi dan tinggi badan anak sekolah dasar sebagai upaya penanggulangan stunting pada anak. Dari hasil kegiatan deteksi ini didapatkan bahwa sebagian besar anak mengalami gejala anemia 57%, sebagian besar mengalami riwayat penyakit infeksi 77%, dan sebagian besar tinggi badan normal 34% dari total 54 siswa.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) have been the leading cause of death in the world since the third millennium. According to WHO in 2000, the proportion of deaths due to NCDs in the world continued to increase from 47% in 1990 to 56%. This Community Service was carried out with a one-group pretest posttest, namely by measuring the level of knowledge before and after treatment. This treatment was to provide counseling on knowledge of early detection of non-communicable diseases at the Integrated Development Post. The results of this community service showed an increase in counseling from before counseling in the category of poor knowledge by 9, increasing after counseling in the good category by 12. Knowledge increased from before and after counseling. This was influenced by counseling on Early Detection of Non-Communicable Diseases at the Integrated Development Post, so that the Community would become aware of the material.

Abstract

One of the main causes of low exclusive breastfeeding is the lack of knowledge of mothers about the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding. Many mothers do not fully understand the importance of exclusive breastfeeding and prefer to give formula milk, even though exclusive breastfeeding is the best choice for babies. Not a few mothers also find it difficult to provide exclusive breastfeeding, either because of medical problems, work, or ignorance about the right way to breastfeed. The aim of this community service is to optimize breastfeeding knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding to increase the success of breastfeeding and improve the baby's health status. This activity was carried out by providing counseling on exclusive breastfeeding by providing a Pre-Test before being given counseling and a post-test after being given counseling. Then conducting a demonstration of how to breastfeed properly and correctly. This counseling was carried out at the Al Kautsar Clinic, Setro Village, Prambon Sidoarjo which was attended by 20 breastfeeding mothers. The results before being given counseling were 8 participants (40%) with Good knowledge and after the activity there was an increase to 15 participants (75%) with Good knowledge. It is hoped that more emphasis will be placed on providing exclusive breastfeeding to increase the success of breastfeeding and improve the health of babies.
