Abstract

The transition period between children and adults is a development in an individual's life, one of which is changes in himself. Both physical and psychological changes that occur can give rise to a desire to have sex during adolescence. The sex in adolescents often occurs outside the marriage relationship or is done freely. If this period is not developed properly, problems such as violation and neglect of values will arise. Free sex can cause negative effect such as unwanted pregnancy, abortion, sexually transmitted diseases, illegal drug use, and HIV/AIDS. To minimize these activities, it is necessary to increase the role of adolescents through socio-psycho education provided to adolescents. This community service activity aims to increase adolescents' role in preventing free sex through a psycho-socio-educational approach. This activity was carried out on a group of 109 Vocational High School children. The location of service is Vocational High School dr. Soebandi Jember. The activity held between March and May 2023. The results of their behavioral activities in efforts to prevent free sex by improving relationships with parents and adolescents, skills to resist negative pressure, increasing adolescent religion level by properly regulating media use, especially pornography, health education for adolescents involving the role of school and their families. It is expected that activities like this will continue to be carried out to increase promotive and preventive efforts in preventing free sex in adolescents and modifying other activities.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Adolescence is the period of change in an individual from childhood to adulthood that occurs in several changes, which are biological, psychological, and social changes. In general, today’s Indonesian teenagers are experiencing vulnerability to health problems and threats, especially sexual, free sex, and reproductive health problems. The existence of the Information and Counseling Center is to meet the needs of adolescents with information on reproductive health and sexuality without hesitation and embarrassment because they will get the information from peer relations through peer counseling. Methods: The population used was the students of the Plus Miftahul Ulum Kalisat Jember junior high school, a total of 80 students. The design of this study used a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group pre-and post-test. The variables measured are knowledge, attitudes, and skills of adolescents related to reproductive health. Data was collected using questionnaires and observation sheets.  Results: The results of statistical tests using linear regression obtained peer counseling values for knowledge (p=0.000; R=0.254), attitudes (p=0.000; R square=0.432), and skills (p=0.000; R square = 0.191). Conclusion: Peer counseling can increase knowledge, attitudes, and skills in junior high school girls as well as drug and drug abuse. Hopefully, the school will continue to collaborate with health education institutions or services to continue the improvement of the abilities of counselors who attend peer counseling

Abstract

Sexual behavior among adolescents can have social and psychological impacts on them. As an effort to prevent free sex, both internal and external measures can be taken, one of which is self-control using the Health Belief Model (HBM) approach to predict the causes of their behavior. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of factors such as perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, cues to action, perceived benefits, and perceived barriers on the efforts to prevent free sex conducted at SMK dr. Soebandi. This research method uses a quantitative cross-sectional design with a sample size of 100 respondents selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using logistic regression. The results of statistical tests showed significance in the variables of perceived susceptibility (p=0.000), perceived severity (p=0.000), cues to action (p=0.000), and perceived benefits (p=0.000), but not significant for perceived barriers (p=0.144). The conclusion of the study is that perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, cues to action, and perceived benefits have an influence on the efforts to prevent free sex among adolescents, whereas perceived barriers have no relationship with the efforts to prevent free sex among adolescents.

Abstract

Adolescent problems related to reproductive health are generally caused by a lack of knowledge about sexual and reproductive health, which negatively impacts their reproductive health condition. Currently, many adolescents face issues such as contracting Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), as well as unplanned pregnancies. Therefore, education tailored to the characteristics of adolescents is essential, one of which can be done through flash cards as a medium for health education. This study aims to determine how using flash card media affects adolescent behavior in maintaining reproductive health. The study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique used cluster sampling, with 40 respondents consisting of 20 individuals in the intervention group and 20 in the control group, all from SMPN 1 Rambipuji. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis. Statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon Test showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores in both the intervention and control groups, with a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05). In addition, the Mann-Whitney Test also showed a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant effect of flash card usage on changes in reproductive health behavior among adolescents. These findings suggest that routine use of flash cards, for example, once a week for a month, is efficacious in improving adolescent behavior in maintaining their reproductive health.

Abstract

Introduction: Adolescence is a transitional phase from childhood before entering adulthood. During this period, significant changes occur in physical, cognitive, and psychosocial growth and development. Psychological changes also take place in adolescents, such as changes in intellectual capacity, emotional life, and social life. These changes can lead to internal conflicts in adolescents, often resulting in strange or awkward behaviors. If not properly managed, these can lead to juvenile delinquency, including risky sexual behaviors. Many problems may arise from neglecting reproductive health. One of the factors that affects adolescent reproductive health is the confusing information children and adolescents receive about the functions and processes of reproduction. This study aims to analyze the relationship between adolescents' knowledge and attitudes about reproductive health and their use of information media. Methods: This research is an analytical study with a cross-sectional design. A total of 38 respondents were selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using the Fisher Exact test. Results: The results showed a relationship between knowledge of reproductive health and the use of information media, with the Fisher Exact test yielding a p-value of 0.027, which is greater than α (0.05). Similarly, there was a relationship between attitudes toward reproductive health and the use of information media, with the Fisher Exact test also yielding a p-value of 0.027, which is greater than α (0.05). Conclusions: In conclusion, there is a relationship between knowledge and attitudes about reproductive health and the use of information media.

Abstract

Anxiety is a common mental disorder of unknown cause, characterized by extreme feelings of fear or worry. The impact of untreated anxiety on the mother can be tuberculosis, preeclampsia, and postpartum depression, while in infants, there can be Low Birth Weight, prematurity, and stunting. The solution that can be done is with non-pharmacological methods, namely hypnobirthing. This method can help mothers overcome fear to undergo a safe and healthy pregnancy. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of anxiety before being given hypnobirthing relaxation, the level of anxiety after being given hypnobirthing relaxation, and the effect of hypnobirthing relaxation and whether hypnobirthing relaxation can reduce anxiety in third-trimester pregnant women. This research method uses a pre-experiment design with a one-group pretest and posttest design. The population in the study was 47 pregnant women, with the acquisition of 32 samples with purposive sampling that entered the inclusion criteria. The results obtained p-value = 0.001 ≤ α = 0.05, which means there is an effect of giving hypnobirthing relaxation on reducing anxiety levels in third-trimester pregnant women in Plerean Village, Sumberjambe District, with a decrease of 30.469. Conclusion Hypnobirthing relaxation helps reduce anxiety in pregnant women so it can be concluded that there is a huge difference in anxiety levels before and after hypnobirthing relaxation is given.

Abstract

Kata kunci: hipertensi, ketidakpastian, self empowerment   Abstract The uncertainty of the hypertension disease process causes stress because of the uncertainty surrounding the disease, the disease process, treatment, and side effects. The uncertainty was caused by bad self empowerment. The self-empowerment strategies for hypertension patients were developed in order to improve disease control and promote better mental health and well-being. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between uncertainty of the disease process and self empowerment in hypertension patients at Silo Sehat Clinic, Jember. This research method was cross-sectional with the number of samples in this study were 58 patients with hypertension taken by simple random sampling technique. The measuring instrument used for the self empowerment variable is the self empowerment questionnaire and the uncertainty variable is the MUIS/Mishel Uncertainty in illness questionnaire. In this study, data analysis was performed using the contingency coefficient. The results of the analysis using the contingency coefficient test 0.05 obtained p-value (0.00 (0.05), indicating that there is a relationship between disease process uncertainty and self empowerment in hypertension  patients. With sufficient self empowerment, the information about the disease obtained from health workers was quite good and helped clients in dealing with potential stressors and increasing self empowerment. Abstract

One of the significant health problems in the world, including in Indonesia, is mental health. Data from the Ministry of Health research conducted every five to six years regarding public health figures shows that the number of people with mental health problems in Indonesia needs serious treatment. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Mental Health Literacy and Stigma Mental Disorders. This research is a correlation study using data collection techniques in the form of the Mental Health Knowledge Questionnaire (MHKQ) and the Peer Mental Illness Stigmatization Scale (PMISS). The research subjects were 52 using simple random sampling technique. Based on the results of the analysis showed that the correlation coefficient between mental health literacy and the stigma of mental disorders was 0.086 with a significance of 0. 542. The significance number in the results of this study exceeds the predetermined significance number, which is > 0.05. This means that there is no relationship between mental health literacy and the stigma of mental disorders. For further research, it is necessary to conduct further research on mental health literacy in the community in order to know the impact that can be caused on the stigma of mental disorders.
