Abstract

Maros Regency occupies the 8th position in South Sulawesi province with a prevalence of stunted toddlers of 30.1% in 2022. This figure has experienced a significant decline of 7.1%, but this figure still allows for a spike in stunting cases. Data collection on the incidence of stunting in Tanralili and Tompobulu sub-districts is important in determining the prevalence of stunted toddlers in Maros district. The aim of this service activity is to obtain accurate data in the field which will be a reference for subsequent activities and to measure the nutritional status of toddlers affected by stunting and provide education to the community regarding stunting. From the results of the activity, it was found that the incidence of stunting in Tanralili sub-district was higher than in Tompobulu sub-district. Damai Village and Lekopancing Village are two villages with quite high stunting rates for toddlers in Tanralili sub-district, while in Tompobulu sub-district, this occurs in Tompobulu and Bonto Manurung villages. Education to the community is carried out during routine posyandu activities and through home visits. It is hoped that it will be able to reduce the incidence of stunting

Abstract

Pengembangan tanaman pangan di Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan khususnya di wilayah Kabupaten Pangkep masih perlu ditingkatkan untuk memperkuat ketahanan pangannya dengan memanfaatkan lahan yang tersedia dengan optimal agar status ketahanan pangan saat ini dapat ditingkatkan dari kategori tahan menjadi sangat tahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik sumber daya petani serta menganalisis penerapan penggunaan teknologi (pola tanam, luas lahan, mekanisasi, penggunaan pupuk dan pestisida) dalam sistem budidaya tanaman pangan yang dapat mendorong peningkatan produksi serta pendapatan usahatani masyarakat di Kabupaten Pangkep. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Kanaungan dan Desa Bara Batu Kecamatan Labbakkang Kabupaten Pangkajene Kepulauan, pada Agustus hingga Desember 2024. Lokasi penelitian dipilih secara purposive sebagai wilayah usaha tani komoditas tanaman pangan. Metode pengumpulan data adalah observasi dan wawacara untuk memperoleh data primer responden menggunakan daftar pertanyaan terstruktur (kuesioner) yang ditabulasi dan diuraikan secara deskriptif. Analisis regresi digunakan untuk mengetahui hubungan variabel bebas (X) meliputi faktor produksi (luas lahan) dan penerapan beberapa teknologi budidaya, terhadap produksi usaha tani tanaman pangan sebagai variabel dependen (Y). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan masyarakat dengan usia produktif mendominasi pelaku usaha tani (91.67%) tanaman pangan di Kabupaten Pangkep dengan latar belakang pendidikan dasar hingga menengah menjadi faktor pembatas penerapan inovasi teknologi budidaya. Hasil analisis regresi menunjukkan faktor luas lahan secara tunggal maupun bersama beberapa variabel penerapan teknologi secara simultan berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah produksi. Nilai koefisien regresi memperlihatkan setiap penambahan nilai variabel luas lahan, penggunaan alsintan dan pupuk menaikkan produksi usahatani tanaman pangan. Produksi 5 ton per musim tanam yang dicapai masyarakat masih diharapkan dapat ditingkatkan lagi.

Abstract

Tilapia seeds are one of the main factors determining the success of tilapia cultivation, so the use of quality (superior) seeds is very important to produce high productivity so that it can provide greater benefits for farmers. Community service activities aim to educate farmers about the importance of recognizing good tilapia seeds and acclimatizing seeds for enlargement in ponds. Community Service was carried out from April to September 2024 at the tilapia fish pond unit in Coppotompong Village, Mandalle District, Pangkep Regency. The implementation procedure for community service begins with a location survey at the pond, counseling/lectures, and assistance to farmers. The performance of good tilapia seeds for maintenance in ponds must be healthy (no wounds, intact fins, not dull in color, active movement), uniform seed size, and the number of vertebrae ranging from 44-45. Seeds must be acclimatized before being stocked and the stocking density depends on the carrying capacity of the pond.

Abstract

Vitamin C cannot be synthesized by shrimp and must be obtained from dietary sources; however, its supply through feed is often insufficient. This study aimed to evaluate the growth performance and oxidative response of juvenile whiteleg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) supplemented with dietary vitamin C. Juvenile shrimp at the PL-25 stage, acclimated to a salinity of 20 ppt, were stocked into 16 rearing containers, each filled with 40 L of seawater from a total 250 L fiberglass tank. Each container contained 20 juveniles with an initial average body weight of 0.001 g per individual. The rearing period lasted 60 days, during which shrimp were fed three times daily. The feeding rate (FR) was initially set at 11% of body weight for the first 30 days and then reduced to 7% thereafter. The experimental design followed a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of four treatments and four replicates: A (0 mg/kg), B (150 mg/kg), C (300 mg/kg), and D (450 mg/kg) of dietary vitamin C supplementation. The results showed that supplementation of vitamin C at 300 mg/kg diet produced the best growth performance (RGR, PER, FCR) and survival rate, which were positively correlated with SOD enzyme activity. The oxidative response parameters (HSI and MDA) showed the lowest values in this optimal treatment. The highest growth performance was obtained from the treatment with 300 mg vitamin C/kg diet, achieving a relative growth rate of 4,358.6%, the lowest MDA concentration of 3.58 ± 0.37 nmol/L, and the highest SOD activity of 88.35 ± 2.22 U/mL enzyme. Keywords:  growth, oxidative responses, shrimp, vitamin C   Abstrak Vitamin C tidak dapat disintesis oleh udang, zat ini dapat diperoleh dari pakan namun pasokannya masih belum mencukupi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menguji kinerja pertumbuhan dan respon oksidatif juvenil udang vaname dengan suplementasi vitamin C dalam pakan. Juvenil udang vaname PL 25, yang telah diadaptasikan di salinitas 20 ppt ditebar pada 16 wadah pemeliharaan yang diisi dengan air laut volume 40 L dari volume total bak fiber 250 L dengan jumlah total juvenil 20 ekor dan rata-rata berat awal juvenile 0,001 g/ekor; waktu pemeliharaan udang;selama 60 hari dengan pemberian pakan tiga kali perhari dan jumlah pakan ditentukan dengan FR 11% dan setelah pemeliharaan 30 hari FR diturunkan menjadi 7%. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat taraf perlakuan dan empat ulangan dengan komposisi perlakuan; A (dosis 0 mg/kg), B (dosis 150 mg/kg). C (dosis 300 mg/kg) D (dosis 450 mg/kg). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi vitamin C dosis 300 mg/kg pakan menghasilkan kinerja pertumbuhan (LPR, REP, RKP) dan TKH terbaik dan berkorelasi dengan aktivitas enzim SOD.  Hasil uji respons oksidatif (IHS dan MDA) menunjukan hasil terendah pada perlakuan terbaik di penelitian ini. Kinerja pertumbuhan optimal diperoleh dari trreatment 300 mg vitamin C/kg sebesar 4.358.6% dengan nilai MDA terendah 3,58 ± 0,37 nmol/L dan aktivitas SOD tertinggi 88,35 ± 2,22 Unit/mL enzim.
