Abstract

Differentiated learning is a process or philosophy for effective teaching by providing a variety of ways to understand new information for all students in their diverse classroom community, including ways to: acquire content; processing, building, or reasoning ideas; and developing learning products and assessment measures so that all students in a classroom of diverse abilities can learn effectively. This study aims to provide information about differentiated learning and its implementation in the midst of diversity with the heterogeneity of students' backgrounds which is a challenge in learning. Differentiated learning is a separate innovation in learning because differentiated learning is learning that accommodates all differences in students, is open to all and provides the needs needed by each individual. This research is a research that uses historical research/documentary study methods with data sources found using techniques to find information about the topic. The research results show that each student has different characteristics, not all students can be given the same treatment so that differentiation learning tends to be more suitable to be implemented.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to map and describe the performance profile of public junior high school teachers in Magetan Regency based on the Teacher Performance Assessment (PKG) as a professional evaluation instrument. This study is important to obtain an empirical picture of the level of teacher performance as an indicator of the quality of learning and professionalism of educators at the junior high school level. Method: The study used a descriptive quantitative approach. A sample of 88 teachers was determined through proportional random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through a five-point Likert scale questionnaire covering five performance indicators, namely learning planning, learning implementation, classroom management, learning evaluation, and professional responsibility. Results: The results showed that the majority of teachers were in the sufficient category (57.95%), followed by the good category (31.82%), less (7.96%), and very good (2.27%), and no teachers were found in the very poor category. These findings indicate that teacher performance has generally met the basic standards of professionalism, but is not yet fully optimal. Novelty: quantitative and structured mapping of teacher performance based on PKG at the district level as a basis for professional development and data-based decision-making.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Teaching Factory program in improving the entrepreneurial skills of 11th grade students majoring in Business and Motorcycle Engineering at SMK Krian 2 Sidoarjo. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data Collection was conducted through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model with triangulation of sources and techniques to maintain data validity. The results showed that the implementation of the Teaching Factory through AHASS workshop services provided students with real entrepreneurial experience, as demonstrated by their active involvement in workshop management, communication with customers, and the application of industry work standards. The application of the block scheduling system provides intensive support to students, while the habit of industrial work culture such as discipline, work ethic, communication, and teamwork contributes to the formation of students’ professional attitudes and entrepreneurial skills. This study confirms that the integration of the Teaching Factory, block system, and industrial work culture effectively improves the entrepreneurial skills of automotive vocational school students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of character education based on the Sekolahe Arek Suroboyo (SAS) program in preventing bullying at SD Hang Tuah 7 Surabaya, including indicators of Safe, Recreational, Educational, and Mutual Cooperation, and analyze the factors that influence its success according to George C. Edward III's theory. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and tested with triangulation of sources and techniques, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model. The results of the study indicate that character education based on the SAS program is implemented in accordance with the AREK indicators through scheduled habituation. The success of the program implementation is influenced by several factors, namely: (1) Internal and external communication is consistently established effectively through coordination, routine evaluation, and socialization; (2) resources are sufficient, although there are still constraints on the budget aspect so that infrastructure improvements are less than optimal; (3) the attitude of implementers shows a high commitment through support in learning, supervision, and habituation; (4) Bureaucratic structure, through a structured division of tasks and SOPs for activities, although there is no specific organizational structure.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the principal's strategy in implementing the reading literacy program at SMP Labschool UNESA 3 Surabaya using Mintzberg's 5P framework (Plan, Ploy, Pattern, Position, Perspective) and to examine its impact on students' reading habits and literacy achievement. A qualitative case study approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the principal, vice principal, language teacher, and four students (purposive sampling), supplemented by school documentation. Analysis followed Miles et al.'s (2014) interactive model with source triangulation. The principal's strategy spans five dimensions: (1) Plan: data-driven planning based on school quality reports and AKM results, integrated into the curriculum; (2) Ploy: differentiated reading materials, indirect teacher engagement through self-made modules, and web-based literacy journal monitoring; (3) Pattern: consistent 20 minute daily pre-lesson reading reinforced through morning assembly and P5 project integration; (4) Position: literacy identity built through library facilities, reading corners, external collaboration, and public gelar karya events; (5) Perspective: a long-term vision of literacy as a tool for intellectual development and critical thinking. National literacy scores recovered from 88.89% (2024) to 97.98% (2025), and students reported improved reading habits and comprehension. This is among the first studies to apply Mintzberg's 5P framework to analyze literacy leadership at the junior secondary school level in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the principal's strategic planning in improving the quality of learning in the digital era, with a focus on the formulation of the vision and mission, mapping real conditions, improving educator competency, and student readiness at MI Al-Istianah Sidoarjo. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach through interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. The results show that the madrasah is restructuring its conventional vision and mission towards a technology-based orientation using an intergenerational participatory approach. The quality improvement strategy is implemented measurably through the division of clear timeline targets in the Madrasah Work Plan, a digital student mentoring program designed in stages according to grade level, and clinical quality control through regular academic supervision. Furthermore, challenges such as financial limitations and technological anxiety of senior teachers were successfully reduced through a humanistic, family-oriented approach and diversification of non-governmental partnership budgets. The novelty of this study lies in the flexible leadership integration model of the madrasah principal (agile leadership), which combines personal assistance with the differentiation of religious values (faith-based digital learning) at the Islamic elementary school level. This tactical step has proven effective in protecting students from cyber moral decadence while winning competition from public schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the utilization of the "Edupark" in supporting the quality of contextual learning at SMP Negeri 61 Surabaya. It employs a qualitative approach with a case study design to gain in-depth insight into the use of the school environment as a learning resource. Data collection involved the vice principal for curriculum affairs, three subject teachers, and three students through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted via data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation used to verify data validity. The results indicate that the Edupark is utilized through structured lesson planning and learning activities—such as observation, discussion, practical work, and assignments—that leverage the school environment as a learning resource. Students are actively involved during these learning activities. However, teachers and students face challenges such as time management constraints due to limited time allocation, difficulties in managing student behavior during outdoor lessons, and limited funds for transportation when conducting off-site learning with partners. The findings demonstrate that the use of the Edupark enhances the quality of contextual learning by providing direct learning experiences linked to real-life conditions and actively engaging students throughout the learning process.
