Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of diabetes self management education (DSME) on distress of type 2 diabetes melitus patients which is hospitalized in Ulin General Hospital. This Study used Pre-Experiment with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample size was 32 patients. The results showed that the average of emotional burden before and after DSME was decrease, with difference number 0.325. The result of Distress among healthcare services before and after DSME was increase (0.211). The result of distress due to diabetes management before and after DSME was decrease (0.119). The result of distress interpersonal relationship before and after DSME was up (0,021). The analysis used Wilcox on Sign Rank test with p= 0,135 (p> 0,05) for emotional distress, p = 0,443 (p> 0,05) for Distress healthcare worker, p = 0.656 (p> 0.05) for distress due to diabetes management. P=0,527 (p>0,05) for Distress interpersonal relationship. The conclusion was there is no significant difference of distress level before and after DSME. It is shown that there is no effect of DSME on distress among patients with diabetes mellitus. Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus, Distress, Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME)

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan yang memiliki jumlah penderita dengan skala besar dan meningkat setiap tahunnya. Beberapa hasil penelitian yang menjelaskan bahwa pada pasien Diabetes Mellitus tipe 2 menyebutkan sebanyak 63,3% responden tidak patuh dalam melakukan latihan fisik. Penelitian lain terkait perilaku pasien tentang penatalaksanaan Diabetes Mellitus di Banjarbaru Kalimantan Selatan juga menyatakan bahwa 83,3% responden Diabetes Mellitus memiliki perilaku yang kurang terhadap penyakit yang dideritanya. Pendidikan kesehatan merupakan salah satu langkah atau cara dalam proses meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat terkait Diabetes Mellitus. Berdasarkan permasalah tersebut sehingga program kemitraan masyarakat pada kelompok penderita Diabetes Mellitus dilakukan dengan tujuan  untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan self management kepatuhan latihan fisik penderita Diabetes Mellitus di wilayah Puskesmas Cempaka Kota Banjarbaru. Sasaran kegiatan ini ialah penderita Diabetes Melitus yang berada di wilayah Puskesmas Cempaka Banjarbaru. Kegiatan penyuluhan ini terdiri dari 2 sesi rangkaian acara yaitu sesi pertama penyampaian materi yang berfokus pada Self-Management kepatuhan latihan fisik, dan kedua adalah sesi tanya jawab dengan peserta penyuluhan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatkan pengetahuan peserta, yang ditunjukkan dari pertanyaan yang diberikan setelah penyuluhan yaitu sebanyak 90% peserta mengetahui terkait pengertian DM, jenis Latihan fisik yang dianjurkan, hal-hal apa saja yang perlu diperhatikan sebelum melakukan latihan fisik dan mengetahui durasi latihan fisik yang dianjurkan pada penderita DM.

Abstract

Penyakit hipertensi dan Diabetes Mellitus merupakan penyakit kronis yang memiliki konotasi budaya karena perilaku hidup yang tidak sehat. Hipertensi dan Diabetes Mellitus akan menyebabkan peningkatan tekanan darah abnormal yang dapat menjadi penyebab utama timbulnya penyakit kardiovaskuler serta gangguan metabolik dalam tubuh. Berbagai macam upaya dilakukan untuk menekan dan mencegah kejadian Hipertensi dan Diabetes Mellitus. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan yakni melakukan pendidikan kesehatan kepada masyarakat melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada  masyarakat.  Pengabdian  masyarakat  ini  bertujuan  untuk  meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang pencegahan hipertensi dan manajemen diabetes mellitus serta meningkatkan status kesehatan masyarakat. Pengabdian masyarakat ini juga bagian dari kerja sama antara institusi perguruan tinggi dengan lintas sektor di Desa Sungai Rangas, Kecamatan Martapura Barat, Kabupaten Banjar. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini diikuti  sebanyak 95 orang yang terdiri dari 58 orang laki-laki dan 37 orang perempuan, dengan rentang usia antara 15-87 tahun. Masyarakat merasa antusias mengikuti kegiatan edukasi  kesehatan tersebut. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan informasi dan  pengetahuan masyarakat serta mampu berkontribusi secara nyata dalam mendukung upaya pemerintah menurunkan kejadian hipertensi dan diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease that develops with age and can lead to death. Bay leaf is a non-pharmacological therapy that can lower blood pressure. Bay leaves contain flavonoid compounds that dilate blood vessels and reduce pressure on artery walls, lowering blood pressure to baseline. To provide nursing care through the intervention of administering bay leaf infusion to clients with a nursing diagnosis of the risk of blood pressure instability. Mr. B, 83 years old, complained of stiffness and pain in the neck and back for three days, blurred vision, and a mild headache (P: sudden onset; Q: stabbing pain; R: Pain in the head and shoulders; S: 3 (mild); T: Intermittent). Blood pressure examination revealed 160/100 mmHg. The nursing care results conducted over 7 days with the main intervention of consuming bay leaf infusion twice a day showed successful resolution of the problem, as indicated by the decrease in blood pressure from 160/100 mmHg to 126/80 mmHg. Bay leaves are rich in flavonoids, tannins, and essential oils, proven to be effective in controlling blood pressure and reducing hypertension. This research can only be carried out on patients who do not experience complications from heart or kidney disease by carrying out a TTV examination for each intervention that will be carried out. The results of the evaluation of 14 interventions for 7 days in the form of bay leaf boiled water given in the morning and evening, showed changes in blood pressure levels in Mr. B significantly where Mr. B, which was originally 160/100 mmHg, became 126/80 mmHg.Keywords: Boiled bay leaf water, nursing care, hypertension.

Abstract

Geographically, the working area of the West Martapura Community Health Center has health complaints that are often encountered among Indonesian people, especially those living in river basin areas, namely skin health problems. In skin diseases, behavioral and attitudinal factors are often associated with aspects of personal hygiene, so that people with poor hygiene have the potential to cause and spread disease. There has been no research that has conducted research on at-risk communities such as riverside communities which are wetland environments with a preventive killing approach. This research aims to determine the description and provide interventions regarding personal hygiene in people with complaints of skin diseases with a quantitative design. Primary data collection techniques were obtained from the results of filling out questionnaires and presented in table form and analyzed descriptively. Regarding personal hygiene in people with complaints of skin diseases in riverside areas, it was found that 245 (54.8%) respondents had good personal hygiene.

Abstract

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a disease that is able to change a person’s level of consciousness and causedeath with a case fatality rate (CFR) of 4.37%. In addition, the impact of these injuries can also causecognitive damage and physical function. Giving sensory stimulation in the form of auditory stimulation asearly as possible is very important for survival, quality of life and long-term prognosis in head injurypatients because hearing is the last sensory function to function in decreased consciousness. The aim of thisstudy was to determine the effect of auditory stimulation on head injury patients with decreasedconsciousness. This study is a literature review. The databases used are ProQuest, CINAHL, PsycINFO,Google Scholar, PubMed, EBSCO and ScienceDirect with the keywords used are Traumatic Brain Injury,Auditory Stimulation, Comatose Patient, Level of Consciousness. The inclusion criteria were articlespublished in 2008-2018, Randomized Clinical Trial (RCT) studies, the study sample was head injurypatients with reduced awareness, the intervention provided was in the form of auditory stimulation andarticles written in English. The results of this literature study obtained 6 research articles that were inaccordance with the objectives and review criteria. The results of the study concluded that auditorystimulation in head injury patients had a significant effect on increasing consciousness status. Therefore,auditory stimulation can be recommended as an additional non-pharmacological therapy for head injurypatients who experience decreased consciousness.

Abstract

Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of metabolic disorders characterized by central obesity, elevated blood pressure, impaired glucose tolerance, insulin resistance, and increased triglyceride and LDL cholesterol levels. In 2017, the World Health Organization (WHO) stated that cardiovascular disease, a major manifestation of metabolic syndrome, was the leading cause of death globally. In Indonesia, the prevalence of metabolic diseases has also increased, particularly among children and adolescents, due to poor lifestyle habits. This study aimed to describe the characteristics of adolescents with metabolic syndrome. The study employed a quantitative descriptive design. Data were collected through anthropometric measurements, physical examinations, and blood sampling. Descriptive statistical analysis was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the average age of respondents was 16 years, the majority were female (53.3%), none had a history of drug use (100%), most did not smoke (56.7%), and most were in a pre-metabolic syndrome condition (90%). Additionally, 73.3% had normal blood pressure, 100% had normal random blood glucose levels, 60% had normal triglyceride levels, LDL cholesterol levels were normal, HDL cholesterol was normal in 93.3% of respondents, and 63.3% were categorized as underweight based on Body Mass Index (BMI).

Abstract

Introduction : Stress is a feeling of pressure on a person due to demands from various things such as the environment around the individual, physical conditions, and social situations that cannot be controlled. One of the negative impacts of stress is fatigue which can interfere with daily activities in nursing students. Aim : This study was to determine the relationship between stress levels and fatigue in nursing students at Lambung Mangkurat University. Metode : This study used a cross sectional design. The technique used is stratified random sampling. The research sample amounted to 80 Lambung Mangkurat University Nursing Students. Data collection using a questionnaire. The analysis test used the Spearman correlation test. Results : The level of stress experienced by nursing students at Lambung Mangkurat University is the majority of moderate stress with a total of 62 people (77.5%) and fatigue experienced by students is the majority of significant fatigue, namely 70 people (87.5%). There is a positive and strong relationship between stress levels and fatigue in nursing students at Lambung Mangkurat University (p-value 0.000

Abstract

Keperawatan Medikal Bedah adalah pelayanan profesional yang berdasarkan pada ilmu dan teknik Keperawatan Medikal Bedah yang berbentuk pelayanan bio-psiko-sosio-spiritual pada klien dewasa untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dasar manusia yang berupa meningkatkan kemampuan yang ada pada individu, mencegah, memperbaiki, serta melakukan rehabilitasi dari suatu keadaan sakit oleh individu. Kondisi kesehatan tubuh yang baik dapat membantu menunjang segala aspek kehidupan, baik fisik maupun psikis. Tujuan dari pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan kemampuan masyarakat di Desa Sungai Kitano dalam peningkatan dan pemeliharaan kesehatan secara mandiri khususnya terkait penyakit asam urat. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan pemberian pendidikan kesehatan TEBUSAN TERSIRAT melalui ceramah, diskusi, serta demonstrasi kelompok yang diikuti oleh 80 orang masyarakat Desa Sungai Kitano dan dihadiri dosen dari Program Studi Keperawatan Fakultas Kedokteran dan Ilmu Kesehatan Universitas Lambung Mangkurat dan pihak Puskesmas Martapura Timur. Berdasarkan hasil pre test dan post test diketahui terjadinya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta kegiatan pengabdian setelah diberikan edukasi tentang terapi rebusan daun salam untuk mengatasi asam urat. Seluruh peserta aktif dan antusias mengikuti kegiatan edukasi dan demonstrasi yang diberikan oleh tim pengabdian masyarakat. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui kegiatan edukasi dan demonstrasi dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta. Medical-Surgical Nursing is a professional service based on the science and techniques of Medical-Surgical Nursing in the form of bio-psycho-socio-spiritual services for adult clients to meet basic human needs in the form of increasing the existing abilities of individuals, preventing, repairing, and rehabilitating from a state of illness by individuals. A good body health condition can help support all aspects of life, both physical and psychological. The purpose of implementing this community service activity is to increase the ability of the community in Sungai Kitano Village to improve and maintain health independently, especially related to gout. The method of implementing this activity was carried out by providing health education “TEBUSAN TERSIRAT” through lectures, discussions, and group demonstrations attended by 80 people from Sungai Kitano Village and attended by lecturers from the Nursing Study Program, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat and the Puskesmas Martapura Timur. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test, it is known that there is an increase in the knowledge of the participants of the service activities after being given education about bay leaf decoction therapy to treat gout. All participants were active and enthusiastic in participating in educational activities and demonstrations provided by the community service team.
