Abstract

The traditional procurement process faces significant inefficiencies and transparency issues, including low efficiency, limited oversight, and challenges in securing competitive supplier engagement and a stable soybean supply. To address these issues, this study aims to design and evaluate Koptihub, a prototype that enhances communication with importers, improves transparency in price comparisons, streamlines stock management, and optimizes transaction monitoring and decision-making. The research employs the User-Centered Design (UCD) approach, integrating User Experience (UX) principles and cooperative member feedback to develop a prototype using Figma. The system's effectiveness, clarity, and user-friendliness were assessed through usability testing with 15 participants using the System Usability Scale (SUS). The prototype incorporates key features such as notifications, incoming offers, price offer status, orders in process, order delivery status, payments, refunds, and a chat function for cooperative-importer communication. The usability test results yielded an SUS score of 82.17, classified as an A grade, indicating high usability and strong user acceptance. These findings confirm that the system effectively supports efficient price selection, order tracking, and enhanced transparency in procurement. This study introduces an innovative e-procurement solution tailored for cooperatives, demonstrating the potential of digital procurement platforms to transform cooperative procurement processes. The proposed model serves as a practical framework that can be adapted by similar cooperatives to improve procurement efficiency and supplier engagement.

Abstract

North Balikpapan District faces significant challenges in housing planning due to population growth and the announcement of the new capital city (IKN) development in East Kalimantan. Achieving optimal housing provision requires synchronization between community preferences and stakeholder perceptions. This study aims to identify the priority gaps between both parties in housing selection. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was used to analyze community preferences, and interviews were conducted with four key stakeholders: the government, subsidized housing developers, commercial housing developers, and the housing developer association. Secondary data were sourced from a previous study that involved a community questionnaire. The results reveal significant differences in priorities: the community prioritizes availability of facilities and infrastructure, accessibility, and environmental comfort, while stakeholders emphasize financing and house design and quality. These misalignments may affect community satisfaction regarding their living environment and access to public facilities. The implications of this study highlight the importance of policy synchronization between the government and developers to bridge this gap, ensuring more inclusive and sustainable housing development in line with the evolving needs of the community. The model derived from this study can be applied to regions experiencing rapid growth, where the majority of the population is of productive age and falls into the middle-income category, to better meet the needs of the growing population.

Abstract

Effective warehouse management is crucial for ensuring the availability of raw materials and smooth product distribution, particularly at Sentra Industri Kecil Somber (SIKS) Balikpapan, which specializes in soybean-based industries. Manual record-keeping has presented significant challenges, leading to recording errors, stock discrepancies, and delays in raw material procurement. To address these issues, a digital warehouse management prototype, "KoptiHub," was developed using a User-Centered Design (UCD) approach. This approach aimed to enhance inventory tracking efficiency, streamline raw material ordering, and improve overall product distribution. The prototype was evaluated using the System Usability Scale (SUS) with 15 cooperative administrators at SIKS Balikpapan. The evaluation yielded an SUS score of 82.17, resulting in an "A" grade, which indicates high usability and strong alignment with user expectations. Compared to previous warehouse management solutions, KoptiHub demonstrates superior usability, particularly in cooperative settings. However, further improvements, such as a simplified user interface and an AI-driven inventory forecasting feature, could enhance efficiency and accessibility. The results suggest that KoptiHub could serve as a scalable model for digitizing warehouse management in MSMEs and cooperatives, aligning with emerging trends in smart inventory management and supply chain optimization.

Abstract

This community service initiative is a collaboration with the Balikpapan Branch of the Indonesian Orchid Lovers Community (PAI). The activity aims to improve the competitiveness of local orchids in Balikpapan through product innovation. The main challenges faced by the partner, Bakoel Kembang Ruhui Rahayu, are low service and packaging diversification, a lack of product information, and suboptimal branding. These conditions hamper market penetration and limit the selling value of orchid products. Through product innovation, it is hoped that orchids will have more competitive added value. The objective of this activity is to equip partners with the skills to design creative and informative services and packaging, as well as improve the quality of product displays. The implementation method includes practice-based training, starting from researching service and packaging trends, material selection, design planning, and packaging simulations with QR code integration. Evaluation was carried out through participant feedback and testing the feasibility of packaging in the local market. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' skills in designing market-standard service and packaging models for young, juvenile, and mature orchids. All participants were able to create packaging designs with clear labels and product information. Improvements in services related to product innovation were recorded significantly, such as Custom Bouquets and Hampers (225%), Classes and Workshops (200%) and Online Sales (160%). Participants also began integrating packaging with digital marketing strategies to increase sales reach. Positive impacts were seen in the increased variety of services and the enhanced professional image of the products. In conclusion, this product innovation training successfully achieved its target, expanded partner services, and increased the market appeal of local orchids.

Abstract

Coffee is a significant commodity in terms of both consumption and production. As a result, marketing interactions with systems and activities must be capable of bringing consumers closer to the items and corporate brand names offered. Urban neighborhoods are currently undergoing lifestyle adjustments. The consumption patterns exhibited by certain cohorts of persons who frequent coffee establishments might be viewed as a reflection of contemporary societal norms and values. The aim of this research is to determine the characteristics of customers and to examine the impact of the consumer lifestyle connected with XYZ Coffee on consumer buying decisions. The research employed a non-probability sampling method, especially convenience sampling, consisting of a sample size of 271 participants. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The study's findings indicate that the target demographic for XYZ Coffee products consists of economically active individuals with adequate income and substantial expenditures on food and beverages. This consumer segment is characterized by a favorable lifestyle and image, making them the primary purchasers of XYZ Coffee products.

Abstract

Balikpapan's economic growth is predicted to rise to 4.94% in 2022 from 4.56% in 2021. The Business Field for Providing Accommodation and Food and Drink has performed well, helping the city's economy. In Balikpapan, 23% of the creative economy is in the culinary sector. Culinary tourism is popular in the city, although finding gastronomic information, especially for foreigners, can be difficult. As a result, there is a need for a culinary application that can provide information about Balikpapan's different culinary delights. Prior to developing a culinary application, the initial step entails the creation of a user flow. This user flow aims to establish a development team for the purpose of creating culinary apps that align with user requirements and customer satisfaction. The process of developing a user flow encompasses multiple steps, including literature research, understanding context of use, specify user requirements, and design user flow solution.  Several elements and processes that can be included in a culinary application have been identified through research conducted with 30 entrepreneurs and 30 food enthusiasts. Ratings, delivery services, promotions, menus, favorite menus, best seller menus, payment options, order services, training, reports, maps, and other features are available. By displaying the user flow and offering step-by-step instructions for users, this research serves as the first stage in constructing the culinary application. The user flow will aid in communication and demonstrating how the culinary application functions. The findings will also be used to develop a culinary application prototype that demonstrates the user interface and user experience.
