Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa (LKM) berbasis project pada matakuliah Evaluasi Hasil Belajar Geografi dengan menggunakan model ADDIE. Selain itu, juga bertujuan untuk: (1) meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa pada matakuliah evaluasi hasil belajar geografi TA 2017/2018, dan (2) mendeskripsikan respon mahasiswa TA 2017/2018 terhadap LKM yang telah dikembangkan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan angket, tes dan lembar v­alidasi. Angket digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data respon mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan LKM di kelas A Reguler TA 2016/2017, tes digunakan untuk menilai hasil belajar mahasiswa melalui penggunaan LKS berbasis project, dan lembar validasi untuk mengukur kelayakan LKM yang dikembangkan. Validasi LKM dilakukan oleh 2 orang validator materi dan media. Indikator penilaian kelayakan LKM berupa kelayakan isi atau materi, kebahasaan, kegrafisan dan penyajian. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) LKM berbasis project sangat layak digunakan (2) hasil belajar mahasiswa kelas A Reguler TA 2017/2018 mengalami peningkatan jika dibandingkan dari ketiga nilai pre-test, mid semester dan post-test, namun hasil belajar secara keseluruhan masih perlu ditingkatkan dimana dari 26 mahasiswa, hanya 15 mahasiswa yang mendapat nilai di atas KKM, (3) respon mahasiswa terhadap LKM berbasis project cukup baik. Kata kunci : Pengembangan, LKM, ADDIE, Project The purpose of this study was to develop student worksheets (MFIs) in order to evaluate project-based Geography Learning using the ADDIE development model in the academic year 2017/2018. In addition, it also aims to: (1) improve student learning outcomes in the course of evaluating geography learning outcomes in Regular Class A 2017/2018 school year, and (2) describe students' responses to the developed student worksheets. Data collection was carried out with questionnaires, tests and validation sheets. The questionnaire is used to assess the student responses to the use of the worksheet, the test is used to assess student learning outcomes through the use of project-based worksheets, and validation sheets for feasibility of project-based student worksheets. Assessment of the feasibility of student worksheets is carried out by 2 material and media validators. Indicators evaluate the appropriateness of student worksheets in the form of content or material feasibility, linguistics, graphics and presentations. Data analysis was carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results showed that (1) project-based student worksheets were very feasible to use %, (2) the learning outcomes of Regular Class A students in the academic year 2017/2018 had increased compared to the pre-test, semester semesters and post-test , but still not significant, where out of 26 students, only 15 students scored more than 80 Minimum Completeness Criteria - KKM, (3) student responses to project-based student worksheets were good.Key words: Development, LKM, ADDIE, Project

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of rob flood and adaptation of coastal communities in Medan Belawan District Medan City. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method. The direct location of flooding review is at Jalan Serdang which belongs to Belawan I urban village. The result shows that the rob flood that hit Medan Belawan District has varying height. Several villages affected by the flood were Belawan I, Belawan II, Belawan Bahagia, Belawan Bahari, Belawan Sicanang and Bagan Deli. Rob flood occurs twice a day at around 02.00 am and 13.00 pm to 16.00 pm. Rob floods give impacts of damage to buildings especially shelter, increased salinity of water resources, damage to pond land, damage to work equipment or vehicles used by everyday people. Rob floods also disrupt the activities of fishers and traders because when the floods occur, fishers are forced to stop while fishing and income is reduced, as well as the supply of fish to the market. Community adaptation to rob floods in Medan Belawan District is adaptation to residential buildings and adaptation to the availability of clean water sources.Key words: coastal communities, rob flood, adaptationPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui  dampak banjir rob dan adaptasi masyarakat kawasan pesisir di Kecamatan Medan Belawan Kota Medan. Metode penelitian yang  digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif . Lokasi langsung peninjauan banjir ialah di Jalan Serdang yang termasuk kedalam Kelurahan Belawan I. Hasil penelitian menunjukkna bahwa banjir rob yang melanda Kecamatan Medan Belawan mempunyai ketinggian yang bervariasi. Beberapa kelurahan yang terkena banjir rob antara lain Kelurahan Belawan I, Kelurahan Belawan II, Kelurahan Belawan Bahagia, Kelurahan Belawan Bahari, Kelurahan Belawan Sicanang dan Kelurahan Bagan Deli. Banjir rob terjadi dua kali dalam sehari yakni sekitar pukul 02.00 pagi dan 13.00 siang hingga pukul 16.00 sore hari. Banjir rob memberikan dampak berupa kerusakan bangunan khususnya tempat tinggal, salinitas sumber air meningkat, kerusakan lahan tambak, kerusakan pada peralatan kerja atau kendaraan yang digunakan masyarakat sehari-sehari. Banjir rob juga mengganggu aktivitas nelayan  dan pedagang karena saat banjir terjadi, nelayan terpaksa berhenti sementara melaut dan penghasilan pun berkurang, begitu juga dengan pasokan ikan ke pasar. Adaptasi yang dilakukan masyarakat terhadap banjir rob di Kecamatan Medan Belawan antara lain adaptasi pada bangunan tempat tinggal dan adaptasi pada ketersediaan sumber air bersih.Kata kunci : masyarakat pesisir, banjir rob, adaptasi

Abstract

Jalur evakuasi adalah rute yang digunakan untuk memandu orang-orang menuju tempat aman selama keadaan darurat, seperti bencana alam atau kebakaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi dan merancang jalur evakuasi bencana di gedung-gedung Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) Universitas Negeri Medan, yang digunakan sebagai ruang perkuliahan dan aktivitas administrasi. Mengingat pentingnya kesiapsiagaan bencana di fasilitas publik, penelitian ini bertujuan merencanakan pembuatan denah jalur evakuasi, menjelaskan tujuan dan manfaat jalur evakuasi, serta menganalisis kesiapsiagaan penghuni gedung terhadap potensi bencana. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, meliputi observasi lapangan dan wawancara untuk mendapatkan data mengenai kondisi jalur evakuasi, aksesibilitas, dan fasilitas keselamatan yang ada. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di setiap lantai yang berada pada sisi gedung dari lantai 10 hingga lantai 1. Setelah berada di lantai 1 evakuasi dapat dilakukan dengan melewati pintu akses keluar masuk gedung. Observasi pada gedung fakultas matematika dan ilmu pengetahuan alam memiliki penunjang jalur evakuasi, seperti tangga darurat, pintu darurat, hydran.Hasil rancangan jalur evakuasi dapat memberikan manfaat serta informasi rute dan jalur mana yang tercepat untuk dilewati menuju titik kumpul pada saat terjadi bencana. Dengan adanya jalur evakuasi diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi positif dalam membangun lingkungan belajar yang aman dan nyaman bagi seluruh pengguna Gedung Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Negeri Medan.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran dalam bentuk video tutorial menggunakan aplikasi Camtasia Studio 8.5 pada mata kuliah Sistem Informasi Geografi (SIG) di Jurusan Pendidikan Geografi Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Universitas Negeri Medan. Langkah-langkah dalam penelitian pengembangan ini adalah: (1)tahap pendahuluan, (2) tahap perancangan media video tutorial, (3) tahap pembuatan media video tutorial, (4) tahap validasi media, (5) tahap pengujian media video tutorial, dan (6)tahap evaluasi media. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Hasil uji kelayakan dari segi materi pada pengembangan video tutorial menggunakan Camtasia Studio 8.5 pada matakuliah Sistem Informasi Geografi (SIG) dikategorikan sangat layak untuk digunakan dengan catatan perlu dilakukan revisi. Sedangkan hasil uji kelayakan dari segi media dikategorikan cukup layak digunakan dengan beberapa revisi, diantaranya: penambahan teks dan tulisan, musik, detail petunjuk tombol, dan lain sebagainya. Hasil respon mahasiswa mengenai pengembangan video tutorial menggunakan Camtasia Studio 8.5 pada matakuliah Sistem Informasi Geografi (SIG) masuk dalam kategori baik. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan video sudah bagus dan mendapatkan respon positif dari mahasiswa. Kata kunci: pembelajaran, media , Camtasia Studio, SIG ABSTRACT This study aims to produce instructional media in the form of video tutorial using Camtasia Studio 8.5 application in Geography Information System (GIS) course in Geography Education Department Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Medan. The steps in this development research are: (1) preliminary stage, (2) video tutorial design stage, (3) video media tutorial development stage, (4) media validation stage, (5) video media tutorial testing stage, and (6) stage of media evaluation. The results showed that the results of the material feasibility test on the development of video tutorials using Camtasia Studio 8.5 in the Geography Information System (GIS) course are considered very appropriate to be used with the need to revise. While the feasibility test results in terms of media categorized quite feasible to use with some revisions, including: the addition of text and writing, music, detail buttons, and so forth. The result of student's response about video tutorial development using Camtasia Studio 8.5 on Geography Information System (GIS) course in good category. Abstract

Critical thinking is an essential skill in the modern information era, enabling individuals to analyze complex information, evaluate arguments, and make informed decisions. In educational contexts, particularly in geography, fostering critical thinking equips students to address real-world environmental and social challenges. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) has emerged as a transformative teaching approach to develop these cognitive abilities through active, problem-centered learning. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of PBL in enhancing students' critical thinking across various educational levels. Using OpenMEE software and a continuous random-effects model, the study synthesized findings from 20 peer-reviewed studies published between 2020 and 2024. Statistical analyses focused on the standardized mean difference (SMD) as the primary metric to measure effect sizes. The results demonstrated that PBL significantly enhances critical thinking skills, with an overall SMD of 1.254 (95% CI: 0.875 to 1.633, p < 0.001). However, notable heterogeneity was observed, attributed to variations in educational levels, implementation fidelity, and study contexts. Subgroup analyses revealed that junior high school students experienced the greatest improvement, followed by university, senior high school, and elementary school students. These findings affirm PBL’s potential as an effective pedagogical strategy for fostering critical thinking. The study highlights the need for tailored PBL implementations and further research into its long-term effects and applicability across diverse educational contexts. The results provide robust evidence supporting PBL as a vital tool in modern education.

Abstract

Taiwan is a subtropic-tropic island with densely populated in the coastal plains surrounding its mountains. In recent years, due to global warming and the urban heat island effect, the surface temperature has continued to rise, and the seasonal temperature changes are also very different. Increased surface temperatures, particularly in cities, are a major environmental issue that intensifies urban heat islands (UHIs). Decadal time-series analysis has historically relied on meteorological data. Due to the limited availability of remote sensing technology, decadal analysis of land surface temperature has been a serious concern. However, according to advanced technologies in remote sensing methods and sophisticated GIS software, Land Surface Temperature (LST) now can be estimated using thermal bands. The objective of this study is to monitor the spatiotemporal changes of the land surface temperature using Landsat 5 and Landsat 8. Tainan city, which is a highly developed city in southern Taiwan, is selected as the research area. The changes in the land surface temperature are assessed between the years 2007 and 2021. It simply requires applying a set of equations through a raster image calculator using ArcGIS. The LST of any Landsat satellite image can be retrieved by following steps: 1) Top of Atmospheric Spectral Radiance; 2) Conversion of Radiance to At-Sensor Temperature; 3) Calculating NDVI; 4) Calculating the Proportion of Vegetation; 5) Determination of ground emissivity, and 6) Calculating Land Surface Temperature. Near Infra-red are used to obtain Normalized Different Vegetation Index (NDVI). The results show that the average surface temperature of Tainan City increased slightly by 1.1 0C. The most significant increase in temperature was in the northern region of Tainan City which was the agricultural area that was in the post-harvest period.Keywords: Land Surface Temperature (LST), Landsat 5, Landsat 8, Tainan City, GIS
