Abstract

This research is Entitled “The Development of Edutainment Learning Model in Social Science Education/IPS (Research and Development Study on IPS education at elementary level in Bandung and Cimahi)”is created to gain a model based on developing learning process in the classroom. This research is also based on the importance of teachers’ creativity in making a fun learning yet still accommodating for the achievement of compentences. Various innovation on IPS education in contextual study have been grown in school and varsity level, it makes various methods have been created by the teachers. However, those innovation still lacks in the accommodating students to reach the competence expected to them. This research will analyze, process, and describe various innovation in IPS learning which are based on Edutainment, which will be conducted in Elementary School (SD/SMP) in Bandung and Cimahi. The focus will be on describing the competences achievement based on the Edutainment learning model. The Competence of Passing Students (Kompetensi Pencapaian Lulusan) is not based on Cognitive aspect only. It needs applicable development of skills. This research uses Research and Development Study which has been begun on this first step which is Descriptive Study which trying to develop critical thinking through Edutainment. t\Through this research, hopefully there will be a product which is an education model for elementary level which is able to develop an innovation in IPS learning to help studetns develop their critical thinking. Key Words : Edutainment model, Elementary level of IPS education,Critical Thinking

Abstract

The characteristic of history subject are consist of facts to implement the significance of past event presented in the learning process, it probably leads student toward attitude transformation. Those opportunities should be provided to all student, including for those whose special needs. The emergences of 17s sustainable development goals (no. 4: Quality Education) has created multiple platforms to carry out inclusive education, including during history learning process. This article uses descriptive study method to get in-depth explanation about history learning process in a set of inclusive education implementation by comparing the condition between inclusive school and non-inclusive school. The result showed (1) lack of understanding of history teacher in identify special needs students has becoming the main bottleneck during learning process; (2) lack of history teacher’s capability in arranging PPI (Individual Learning Program) for special needs students; (3) supporting teacher’s unavailability in helping history teacher during learning process.

Abstract

The availability of adequate learning facilities must support the achievement of a marginal learning process. This study aims to manage and describe social studies teachers implementing the SIMPAI 7 Learning Management System (LMS) as a learning tool at Junior High School 7 Bandung. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research informants were a student of classes VI C, VI E, and VII H and teachers of Junior High School 7 Bandung. Data collection techniques in this study include interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that: (1) in Junior High School  7 Bandung applied LMS SIMPAI 7 as a learning tool due to changes in the learning system, limited time allocation, and the availability of ICT-based learning facilities; (2) the process of managing LMS SIMPAI 7 carried out by IPS teachers includes planning, implementation, and evaluation: (3) The effectiveness of the implementation of LMS SIMPAI 7 is categorized as sufficient, especially in terms of improving students' understanding and learning outcomes; and (4) perceived obstacles in implementing LMS SIMPAI 7 such as delays in collecting assignments and websites that are difficult to access.

Abstract

Various survey results indicate that the reading literacy skills of Indonesian students are still relatively low. However, reading literacy is a part of a set of skills and abilities that are essential in the 21st century. One of the factors influencing students' reading literacy skills is the source of reading materials. In the context of education, reading materials are closely linked to learning resources. In Indonesia, the majority of schools and students rely on textbooks as their primary learning resources. This is also the case in public high schools in Cimahi City. Therefore, the researcher was motivated to conduct a study to investigate the potential relationship between the use of textbooks as historical learning resources and students' reading literacy skills. The research method employed is correlation analysis. The study population consists of public high school students in Cimahi City, with a sample size of 380 students. Data was collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire. The research findings demonstrate a significant, positive correlation at a strong level between history textbooks and reading literacy skills. The strength of this correlation is influenced by the pivotal role that textbooks play during the learning process. However, there is still a need for improvement in the quality of the textbooks used, so as to further enhance students' reading literacy skills.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the complexity found by researchers in class XI IPS 2 of SMAN 7 Bandung, namely the ability of historical imagination that is low in students' ability to learn history. While this ability is important to help students imagine in reconstructing and explaining historical stories. The main objective of this research is to improve the ability of students' historical imagination in learning history. Indicators developed in this study are the results of research researchers who discuss about experts, namely the discussion of the idea of a chain script, the product of a serial story script, the discussion of the packaging of a serial script, and the making of storytelling. This class action research was carried out for two cycles where one cycle contained three actions using the Ebbut model which consisted of discussions about focus and initial planning (plan), action implementation (observation), observation (observation), implementation of the research process (reconnaissance), and reflection (reflection). The results showed an increase in the imagination of history in each cycle after applying the method of storytelling in learning history. This can be seen from the increase in the achievement of values in each indicator. Based on these data it can be concluded that the application of storytelling method can be an alternative to improve the ability of students' historical imagination in learning history at SMAN 7 Bandung.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman literasi digital siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah di kelas XI IPS 1 SMA Edu Global Bandung. Pada tahap perencanaan, peneliti menggunakan Kanal YouTube “Pahamify” sebagai media pembelajaran utama dengan memaksimalkan pemanfaatan setiap tools yang ada dalam media tersebut. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran sejarah dengan menggunakan Kanal YouTube “Pahamify” untuk meningkatkan pemahaman literasi digital siswa dilaksanakan sebanyak IV siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pemahaman literasi digital siswa melalui penggunaan Kanal YouTube “Pahamify” pada setiap siklusnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan desain Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Pada siklus I presentase pemahaman literasi digital siswa sejumlah 33% yang menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman literasi digital siswa masih rendah dikarenakan penggunaan Kanal YouTube “Pahamify” belum maksimal. Pada siklus II rata-rata presentase pemahaman literasi digital siswa mengalami peningkatan menjadi 38% yang menunjukkan bahwa siswa sudah memiliki pemahaman literasi digital yang cukup dikarenakan terdapat kenaikan pada setiap indikatornya. Pada siklus III terjadi peningkatan sampai pada 67% yang mana ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa sudah memiliki pemahaman literasi digital yang baik. Pada siklus IV pemahaman literasi digital mengalami peningkatan dengan jumlah 94%, dan dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan Kanal YouTube “Pahamify” dapat meningkatkan pemahaman literasi digital siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah di kelas XI IPS 1 SMA Edu Global Bandung.

Abstract

Abstract: This article tries to analyze several terms that indicate a stigma againsts Islamic politics in Indonesia, such as right-wing extrimist, jihad commando, and kadrun. Kadrun is the newest form to stigmatize Islam in Indonesia, so it is interesting to review. Stigma against Islam can arise due to three main points, namely: the misunderstanding of Islam because of how it was represented according to the Orientalism point of view, the mainstream media framing, and the “terrorist” attack of the Western world. The research uses a historical approach that identifies various terms of stigma against Islam in the archives. Archives regarding the protest in Java in the 20th century were used to identify the stigma attached to Islam at the end of the colonial period. The archives at MUI (Indonesian Council of Ulama) were used to see the relationship between the terms right-hand extremist and jihad commando in the dynamics of relations between Islam during the New Order Era. Content analysis method and Twitter “crawling” data collection techniques were used to describe the kadrun concept. The results of research on the words right-hand extremist, jihad commando, and kadrun put Islam as a political doctrine, which was the opposition to the ruling government. Historical analysis shows that the stigma against political Islam has been a recurring phenomenon since the Dutch East Indies era, which continued to this era and might continue as a vicious cycle of conflict in Indonesia. Abstrak: Artikel ini mencoba menganalisis beberapa istilah yang mengindikasikan adanya stigma terhadap politik Islam di Indonesia, seperti ekstrimis kanan, komando jihad, dan kadrun. Kadrun merupakan bentuk terbaru dari stigma terhadap Islam di Indonesia, sehingga menarik untuk diulas. Stigma terhadap Islam dapat muncul karena tiga hal utama, yaitu: kesalahpahaman terhadap Islam karena direpresentasikan menurut sudut pandang Orientalisme, framing media arus utama, dan serangan “teroris” dari dunia Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan historis yang mengidentifikasi berbagai istilah stigma terhadap Islam dalam arsip. Arsip-arsip mengenai protes di Jawa pada abad ke-20 digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi stigma yang dilekatkan pada Islam pada akhir masa kolonial. Arsip-arsip di MUI (Majelis Ulama Indonesia) digunakan untuk melihat hubungan antara istilah ekstremis kanan dan komando jihad dalam dinamika relasi Islam selama masa Orde Baru. Metode analisis isi dan teknik pengumpulan data “crawling” Twitter digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan konsep kadrun. Hasil penelitian terhadap kata ekstremis kanan, jihad komando, dan kadrun menempatkan Islam sebagai doktrin politik yang menjadi oposisi bagi pemerintah yang berkuasa. Analisis historis menunjukkan bahwa stigma terhadap Islam politik telah menjadi fenomena yang berulang sejak era Hindia Belanda, yang berlanjut hingga era sekarang dan mungkin akan terus berlanjut sebagai lingkaran setan konflik di Indonesia.

Abstract

The history learning process today needs to optimize the use of technology. Optimizing technology, especially artificial intelligence, can avoid the negative effects of students' use of gadgets. Project Based Learning is a model that AI can integrate into history learning. This article outlines the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model that utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an ICT platform in the Local History curriculum. The research methodology is descriptive and qualitative, involving data collection methods such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The project focuses on historic buildings that reflect Bandung’s history, architecture, and culture, particularly Gedong Tjai Tjibadak. The study results show that 1) the PjBL model effectively combines with Artificial Intelligence (AI). 2) Presenting Local History content in a different format makes the learning experience more diverse and exciting. And 3) Utilizing AI-based projects as educational tools for history allows students to demonstrate their abilities effectively. The AI-integrated PjBL model enhances the learning of Local History content in a way that meets the requirements. AI technology makes learning smoother, more convenient, and more captivating.
