Abstract.. The development of modernization in corn farming in Kalibareng Village, Patean District, Kendal Regency has the potential to cause the loss of traditional terms used by the farming community. This study aims to describe and analyze the lexicon of corn farming in Kalibareng Village, Patean District, Kendal Regency, and to reveal the lexical and contextual meaning contained therein. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with field research and semantic studies as the main approach. Data were obtained through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of corn farmers in Kalibareng Village. The results show that there are 44 lexicons divided into three categories, namely cultivation processes, agricultural tools, and agricultural materials. The lexical meaning in the lexicon refers to the basic meaning according to its referent, while the contextual meaning is influenced by the situation of use in agricultural activities. Abstract

Communication is a common practice among humans as social beings. Naturally, communication requires language as a means to convey information. This is particularly true for communication within a professional group, which relies on language as a primary component for information delivery. This study focuses on a cultural semantic analysis, with the workers at the Banaran Coffee Plantation serving as the language speakers. The purpose of this research is to identify, classify, and describe the lingual units used by the workers during the pre-harvest stage, according to their respective forms and meanings. A qualitative descriptive approach was selected to systematically and factually describe the linguistic phenomena based on field data. The results of this study indicate that there are 29 lingual units used by the workers at the Banaran Coffee Plantation. The forms of these lingual units consist of 21 words, 6 phrases, and 3 abbreviations. The lexical meaning of the lingual units used by the workers at the Banaran Coffee Plantation is exemplified by the word nglobang, which corresponds to the ongoing activity of the farmers. Meanwhile, the cultural meaning is found in the term teras iring, which holds a specific connotation for the workers at the Banaran Coffee Plantation.

Abstract

IMPROVING THE ABILITY TO SPEAK IN VARIOUS RULES IN CLASS X8 OF SMAN 8 SEMARANG USING ROLE CARD MEDIAMany students currently use Javanese without paying attention to the correct rules. They often equate the language used both with friends and with older people, namely dominantly using the ngoko variety. Researchers assume that this cannot be separated from the influence of modernization flows in various aspects as well as their social environment which does not support Javanese. One of the efforts made is to improve students' speaking skills through role assignment cards. In simple terms, the application of the Role Giving card media in this classroom action research is that students create conversation scenarios in Javanese according to the cards that have been prepared by the teacher. The card contains a conversation scenario between two people about something. Next, students are allowed to improvise according to the given theme. Teachers evaluate students' work results by expanding the scope of lessons according to predetermined material. The indicator of success in improving student learning outcomes in this research was seen from 75% of students passing the KKM (with a score of 75). The research results obtained from posttest data show that in the pre-cycle there were 40% (14 people) of students who completed the KKM. Then, in cycle 1 there were 69% (24 people) of students who completed the KKM. Then, in cycle 2 there were 89% (31 people) of students who completed the KKM. The data shows an increase from pre-cycle to cycle 2. And the success of the research is in accordance with the success indicators obtained during cycle 2, namely 89% of students completed the KKM or more than 75% of students completed the KKM.

Abstract

The development of social media platforms, especially TikTok, has given rise to new linguistic phenomena that are interesting to study sociolinguistically. This study aims to describe the variety of languages and linguistic characteristics in the content of @arab_ngapak TikTok accounts. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a sociolinguistic approach, data was collected from 12 videos uploaded in March–December 2025 through the free participation listening technique (SBLC) and the recording technique. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman models. The main theoretical frameworks include Martin Joos' theory of linguistic diversity and the theory of Chaer and Agustina's language variation. The results showed three dominant language types: consultative, intimate, and casual, with the business variety being the most frequent due to the high level of promotional content. Prominent linguistic characteristics include the mixing of Arabic and Javanese codes of the Ngapak dialect as a form of hybrid identity enregistration, the use of pisuhan as a marker of group solidarity, and the simile language style. These findings contribute to understanding how content creators use a variety of languages to construct social identities in the digital space.
