Abstract

The flood disaster that occurred in North Aceh on November 26, 2025, significantly disrupted the social and economic conditions of affected communities, particularly in Keude Geudong Village. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of a community-based post-disaster recovery model that integrates emergency education and micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) empowerment. A community-based participatory approach was employed, involving two main target groups: school-aged children and MSME actors. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and program documentation, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results show that the social intervention successfully restored access to education, achieving over 80% participation and improving children’s learning motivation and psychosocial well-being. In the economic sector, MSMEs experienced a 40–60% increase in production capacity and a 25–35% increase in income, supported by improved financial management and digital marketing adoption. The integration of appropriate technology and continuous mentoring further enhanced program effectiveness and sustainability. This study highlights that combining social and economic interventions within a community-based framework can generate synergistic impacts and strengthen post-disaster resilience. The proposed model offers a practical and replicable approach for sustainable recovery in disaster-affected communities.

Abstract

Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) are strategic instruments in village economic development, but their management still faces various challenges, particularly in human resource (HR) management. This community service activity aims to improve the capacity of BUMDes managers through HR management training. The methods used included workshops, group discussions, case studies, assistance in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), simulations, and evaluations. The training results showed an increase in participant understanding, with an average pre-test score of 54 and a post-test score of 82, representing a 51.9% increase. Furthermore, 80% of participants successfully drafted a simple HR management SOP that could be immediately implemented in their respective BUMDes. Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in supporting the national economy, particularly in creating employment opportunities and improving community welfare. However, many MSMEs still face financial management problems due to limited accounting knowledge and the absence of structured financial records. This condition was also experienced by Home Industry Donat Lembut Prospero in Lhokseumawe City, which had not implemented systematic financial recording. This community service activity aimed to assist the business owner in preparing simple financial reports. The methods consisted of three stages: pre-implementation, implementation, and evaluation. The implementation stage included training and intensive mentoring on transaction recording, cost classification, and profit/loss report preparation. The results showed significant improvements in the partner's understanding and ability to manage business finances. The partner was able to record transactions systematically, separate business and personal finances, and prepare simple profit/loss reports independently. The financial records also revealed that the business had previously experienced substantial undetected losses. Thus, the mentoring activity successfully improved financial management practices in the MSME.
