Abstract

This study aims to examine communication techniques in Adi W Gunawan's hypnotic activities. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection by means of observation, interviews, and documentation, the main data sources are Adi W Gunawan, his assistants, team, trainees, and clients, while the supporting data sources are from relevant articles and books. The collected data is analyzed by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the research data was carried out by triangulating techniques and sources. The research findings show that one of Adi W Gunawan's hypnotic activities occurred due to the authority and credibility of Adi W Gunawan as chairman of the Indonesian Clinical Hypnotherapy Association (AHKI), an expert in mind technology, completed two doctoral studies, actively participated in training and workshops, trained as a public speaker . Communication in hypnosis activities uses repetitive and imaginative techniques by optimizing verbal and vocal aspects with a higher percentage of visual aspects during therapy, balancing visual, vocal and verbal during training, and highlighting verbal and visual aspects when communicating using media. In this study, researchers also found that in communicating requires empathy, self-confidence, and belief in the heart and mind related to the communication process carried out so that the expected communication goals can be achieved, the researchers call this hypnotic communication or hypnotic communication.

Abstract

 The purpose of this article is to describe the vagueness of the concepts and the negative effects of the Blasphemy Law, which is operated in contemporary Indonesia with the law No. 1/PNPS/1965. Since its enactment in 1965, this law has been used by various intolerant groups to vilify, to discredit and to discriminate minority communities, including indigenous people, aliran kepercayaan groups (often used interchangeably with aliran kebatinan or Kejawen), and other non-conformist groups as deviant. According to the Blasphemy Law contents, opethese groups are not recognized as official religions because their religious doctrines are not allowed to be practiced and contradict those held by the majority. This article argues that the maintenance of the Blasphemy Law in Indonesia is not only detrimental to interfaith relations and harmony among the country’s diverse religious communities, but also contributes to the high number of violations of religious freedom and belief. Furthermore, a lot of researchers measure that the blasphemy law is one of two major problems in Indonesia — the other problems are related with religious conversion and proselytism. Its repeal is essential to promote religious tolerance and respect for individual beliefs. Certain doctrines are accepted on the basis of majority rather than merit, while those of minorities are often disregarded. Alternatively, this article will consider Resolution 16/18, also called “Combating Intolerance, Negative Stereotyping and Stigmatization of, and Discrimination, Incitement to Violence against Persons Based on Religion or Belief,” which was submitted by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries to the UN Human Rights Council in 2011 to address the problems caused by the controversial blasphemy law. Keywords: Blasphemy Law, Religious Freedom, and UN Resolution 16/18.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to provide an alternative solution for ecological-based Da’wah in the efforts to protect the environmental destruction in the city of Ambon. Ambon is a region surrounded by hills that are prone to disasters such as landslides and floods. Ecological-based da’wah is considered an alternative solution to instill environmental values in the community for environmental conservation.This research is a qualitative descriptive type supported by quantitative data by using phenomenological approach. This research locates in the city of Ambon. Observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and Delphi technique are used to collect the data related to the research questions. The data then are analyzed by using the following phases:  data reduction, data presentation, interpretation, and drawing conclusions.The study identified at least five alternative solutions for ecological da’wah in environmental conservation efforts in Ambon, namely: implementation of "dakwah bil hal" (preaching by action), maximizing the use of media, changing preaching strategies, applying conservation concepts, and enforcing environmental laws. Among these solutions, it is found that the most effective alternative solution is the maximal use of media by publicizing the importance of preserving the environment. The implications of this research suggest that the government of Ambon, religious leaders, and environmental stakeholders should make efforts to use media to the fullest extent and educate the public about the environment through mass media or social media.Keywords: the city of Ambon, ecological based da’wah, environmental conservation.

Abstract

Da'wah is a communication process that is based on trust (belief) and aims to invite people to carry out the provisions of Allah SWT. Where the city of Makassar, which has a multicultural society, is a challenge for the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) in delivering its lectures to mad'u, especially the Muslim community. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research. While this type of research uses participatory action research (PAR). Determination of informants selected by purposive technique. Data collection was carried out using interview, observation, and documentation techniques. While the validity of research data using source triangulation and method triangulation. The result of this research is that the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Makassar City has done several forms of actualization of da'wah in multicultural society, namely delivering its da'wah in a humane way to all Muslim communities, so that the delivery of its da'wah can be accepted by every community.

Abstract

This research would explore the analysis of Zainal Abidin Bagir — Lecturer at the Center for Religious and Cross-Cultural Studies (CRCS) and Director of the Indonesian Consortium for Religious Studies (ICRS), Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta — on the dynamics of religious freedom in Indonesia. In order to explain these dynamics, this study uses qualitative methods. These are balanced by direct interviews with Bagir and enriched by other relevant literature. Historical and sociological approaches are useful in clarifying, evaluating and analyzing the factors that cause religious freedom and religious blasphemy regulations to be considered important to implement in Indonesia. The results of this research show that, firstly, the implementation of religious freedom regulations in Indonesia often clashes with the social, cultural and political dynamics prevailing in the country, leading some groups to believe that ‘religious freedom’ is not suitable for implementation in Indonesia. In some instances, this perceived incompatibility has resulted in the rights of minority groups such as Ahmadiyyah and Shia being violated and restricted. Second, Bagir is not in a hurry to judge the state of religious freedom in Indonesia as terrible. In terms of the overall landscape, Bagir said that the religious freedom situation in Indonesia continues to appear relatively well developed and continues to make progress, although it is not totally unproblematic.

Abstract

One of the most crucial aspects of Islam's overall teachings is da'wah. Through da'wah, people can learn about, live out, and apply the principles of Islam from generation to generation. In the modern era of information globalization and the inevitable progress of technology, da'wah is essentially an endeavor to cultivate a predisposition and interest in calling someone to the teachings of Islam. Nothing can be hidden; everything is available, even things that are banned. If the missionaries don't quickly adjust to these developments, they will become obsolete. It's necessary for missionaries to be adept in social media. Islam is no longer the domain of clerics in this millennium. People can learn Islam in a variety of methods and places at any time. Modernization is a necessary step on the journey through space and time that all people must take. A shift in the dai's method of preaching ought to counterbalance this amazing shift in society. Da'wah shouldn't be conducted in a certain location or with just traditional means (lectures). Da'wah needs to be innovative, forward-thinking, and energetic. Da'wah and Islamic communication are two examples of the many patterns of scientific progress that have arisen from the world's rapid flow of knowledge and technology.

Abstract

This study analyzed the collective identity construction of Pitu Ulunna Salu (PUS) in strengthening peacebuilding efforts in Mamasa, West Sulawesi. The reconstruction of PUS became a peace mission doctrine that reshaped public perceptions of brotherhood and harmony after the regional expansion conflicts, which had triggered ethnic and religious disintegration. The research employed a qualitative case study design, collecting data through in-depth interviews and secondary sources. The findings showed that the reconstruction of PUS cultural identity, as part of the historical alliance of traditional institutions served as a catalyst for reconciliation and conflict mitigation in Mamasa. The community’s adherence to traditional values and communal leadership was instrumental in maintaining social harmony, while youth were playing a pivotal role in the ongoing transformation of conflict. This study introduced a conceptual model of Cultural Identity-Based Peacebuilding, which integrated three key elements: traditional authority, collective memory, and youth participation. The model explained how indigenous identity reconstruction functioned not only as cultural preservation but also as a strategic sociopolitical mechanism for sustainable peace. The novelty of this research lay in framing local identity as an active agent in transforming post conflict societies rather than as a passive cultural symbol. A deeper understanding of PUS identity formation enabled the effective application of regional identity in peace processes, enhancing the sustainability of reconciliation. This study provided an empirical and theoretical contribution by bridging indigenous knowledge and contemporary peace studies, offering a replicable model for other multicultural post-conflict contexts.  Keywords: Conflict Reconciliation, Pitu Ulunna Salu, Social Construction, Peacebuilding

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis fungsi sosial, budaya, dan keagamaan dari tradisi Mappadendang yang jalankan Suku Bugis di Kelurahan Wattang Bacukiki. Masyarakat setempat menjalankan Tradisi Mappadendang dua kali setahun sebagai bentuk syukur atas hasil panen. Artikel ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui observasi dan wawancara mendalam. Artikel ini mengaplikasikan teori Adaptation, Goals Attainment, Integration, dan Latency Fungsional Struktural Talcott Parsons. Hasilnya menunjukkan masyarakat Wattang Bacukiki secara kultural mengadaptasi tradisi untuk mempertahankan fungsi dan nilai kulturalnya di tengah perkembangan zaman. Tujuan fungsi tercapai karena kohesi sosial, nilai budaya, dan aspek keagamaan tercapai. Ritual Mappadendang berhasil terintegrasi dengan aspek keagamaan, terbukti dengan masyarakat Wattang Bacukiki berhasil menjadikan tradisi menjadi sarana keselamatan, silaturahmi, dan pemeliharaan hubungan sosial yang harmonis. Kemudian mereka juga berhasil melakukan perbaikan pola atas tradisi tanpa mengurangi nilai kultural sehingga tradisi ini dapat bertahan dan dapat terlaksana secara simultan di Watan Bacukiki. Artikel ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya dukungan berkelanjutan dari masyarakat dan pemerintah lokal untuk memastikan pelestarian nilai-nilai lokal tradisi Mappadendang dan mendukung penuh Pembangunan Kebudayaan khususnya di Sulawesi Selatan.

Abstract

Tulisan ini fokus pada bentuk penerapan dakwah persuasif terhadap pembinaan eks pekerja seks komersial yang terdeskripsi pada dakwah fard}iyah yaitu; pembinaan tablig Islam (taujiyah dan tablig kitabah), pembinaan secara Irsyad Islam (bimbingan dakwah, penyuluhan Islam), tadbir Islam meliputi; manajemen (lembaganya), pembinaan takwim. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif tentang metode dakwah persuasif dalam bentuk dakwah fard}iyah terhadap pembinaan eks pekerja seks komersial di Panti Sosial Karya Wanita Mattirodeceng Kota Makassar. Pendekatan utama yang digunakan adalah pendekatan ilmu dakwah disertai pendekatan multidisipliner meliputi pendekatan sosiologis, pendekatan komunikasi, dan pendekatan psikologis. Sumber data  atau informannya 12 orang dengan rincian petugas atau pekerja sosial (Peksos) sebanyak 6 orang dan eks pekerja seks komersial sebanyak 6  orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi dengan instrumen penelitian adalah peneliti sendiri dan dibantu dengan pedoman wawancara, matriks perencanaan penelitian, alat-alat dokumentasi, berupa alat perekam (voice recorder ), kamera serta alat tulis sebagai catatan dalam proses perekaman data di lapangan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan teori Miles and Hubermen adalah reduksi data (data reduction), penyajian data (data display), dan penarikan kesimpulan (conclusion drawing/verification). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk penerapan dakwah persuasif terhadap pembinaan eks pekerja seks komersial yaitu; a). penyampaian dakwah persuasif dalam bentuk pemberian bimbingan sosial; integritas diri dan materi dakwah, b). penyampaian dakwah persuasif dalam bentuk bimbingan lanjutan, c). penerapan dakwah persuasif  dalam bentuk fard}iyah;  pembinaan dalam bentuk tablig Islam, pembinaan dalam bentuk taujiyah, pembinaan dalam bentuk tablig khitabah, pembinaan dalam bentuk irsyad islam; kegiatan bimbingan dakwah, pembinaan dengan takwin; memiliki kemampuan dalam berkomunikasi, memiliki kemampuan dalam melakukan bimbingan sosial, memiliki kemampuan dalam pemberian bimbingan keterampilan.

Abstract

Tulisan ini mengkaji tentang potret kemiskinan dan anak putus sekolah di desa Temmabarang Kecamatan Penrang Kabupaten Wajo. Jenis penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian lapangan yang bersifat deskriptif kualitatif. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan fenomenologi. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah anak-anak putus sekolah, orang tua yang memiliki anak-anak putus sekolah serta tokoh masyarakat di DesaTemmabarang Kecamatan Penrang Kabupaten Wajo. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti itu sendiri dan dibantu dengan pedoman observasi, pedoman wawancara, dan dokumentasi dengan alat-alat bantu untuk mengumpulkan data seperti tape recorder, video kaset, atau kamera. Data dianalisis dengan teknik editing, kodefikasi data, dan triangulasi. Data diuji keabsahannya dengan perpanjangan keikutsertaan dan ketekunan pengamatan. Potret kemiskinan dan anak putus sekolah di desa Temmabarang Kecamatan Penrang Kabupaten Wajo karena masih minimnya lahan yang bisa digarap untuk pertanian oleh masyarakat sehingga tidak memiliki penghasilan tetap, keberadaan lahan persawahan tidak menjamin karena tidak adanya irigasi, kebutuhan yang semakin hari semakin meningkat, dan tidak memiliki modal untuk berwirausaha serta kurangnya pengetahuan tentang pentingnya pendidikan.
