Abstract

The background of this research is that tafsir has patterns and characteristics whose development can be influenced by the text, context, and interpretation of the interpreter from time to time. Malja’ at-Thalibin, a Sundanese tafsir by Ahmad Sanusi, is interesting to study because it was born in the socio-religious context of the Priangan region. The purpose of this research is to explore Ahmad Sanusi’s response to interpreting the Qur’an as resistance to the reformist lawsuit in which this group moves on the factor of wanting a return to the Qur’an and Sunnah, which is used as a starting point in assessing the truth in religion and community culture. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method sourced from literature studies with a content analysis approach. The depth of knowledge and insight possessed by the author shows its own satisfaction in dealing with community problems through the interpretation of the Qur'an, in addition to the combination of culture, society, and language that is able to give birth to a high-value work of interpretation and influence its readers. In addition, this tafsir also illustrates the attitude of the ulama in the context of resistance to the reformists.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the pattern of Shaykh Mas'ud's thoughts about fiqh in the Masailu Syatta book and the implications of these fiqh thoughts for the development of the scientific tradition of Islamic boarding schools and the treasures of Indonesian fiqh. The theoretical framework used in this study is the theory of discourse analysis in which there are three dimensions or stages in the process of analyzing reality, namely text, discourse practice, and social practice (socio-cultural practice). This study uses qualitative research methods with social history and ushul fiqh approaches. The data source used is the primary data source, namely the book Masailu Syatta by Shaykh Mas'ud and secondary data sources in the form of observations, interviews and documentation. Data analysis through descriptive-analytical, content analysis and historical methods. The findings of this study indicate that Syaikh Mas'ud's fiqh thinking has a school style that places more emphasis on the Shafi'i school. The method used can be seen from two aspects: first, his attention and sincerity in collecting as much fiqh literature as possible, especially in the Shafi'i school and second, a careful analysis of previous opinions by applying the maqashid syari'ah concept. His thoughts not only had a positive effect as a manifestation of the Islamic scientific tradition for Islamic boarding schools but also influenced the development of Shafi'i fiqh in the archipelago.

Abstract

The Field Experience Practice Program (PPL) is a mandatory activity carried out by students of STAI Nida El-Adabi for a month (February 13th until March 18th 2023). In practice, the PPL which was held at SMP Negeri 11 South Tangerang in PAI learning focused more on learning the Qur'an using the Rihlati LISBA method. This study aims to determine the learning of the Koran using the Rihlati LISBA method, which is one of the leading programs in PPL at SMP Negeri 11 Tangerang Selatan. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method with data collection through observation, documentation and interviews. As a result, learning the Qur'an using the LISBA Rihlati method is an effective program in improving students' reading and writing Al-Qur'an (BTQ) skills. Learning the Qur'an using this method is expected to continue to be developed and used as a very important supporting material in Islamic Islamic education learning. During the PPL, there were several supporting factors in learning this method including: adequate curriculum, module books, qualified LISBA Rihlati teachers, and quite complete learning media. There are also inhibiting factors, namely that not all of the students have module books and the teaching teachers of the Rihlati LISBA method are still limited.

Abstract

Pesantren is a stronghold for the entry of radicalism and prevents the degradation of a nation's morality. A critical aspect of the tradition of pesantren is the competence of religious moderation, which must be continuously improved. The study uses a systematic literature review (SLR) method to analyze the concepts of religious moderation that are evolving and becoming a tradition in the Javanese pesantren. There are 16 articles that meet the quality assessment from 4,252 types of documents in the form of scientific journal articles. Researchers used the Dimensions database as a data source. The results of this study show that the concept of religious moderation used in the pesantren tradition in Java includes: teaching national values, social empowerment, moderation values in worship practices, interfaith dialog, charismatic kyai (pesantren leader), openness to modern science and understanding of local wisdom. In its implementation, the pesantren strengthens the competence of religious moderation by improving holistic education, training moderate preachers, developing digital media, developing education, interfaith dialog activities, and building social care. Understanding this concept will affect the pesantren tradition, especially Java, including the attitude of active participation in social programs, upholding Islamic values and local culture, preventing radicalism, encouraging innovation in the education system, increasing tolerance and unity among people, and being critical of extremism.

Abstract

Indonesia as one of the countries that has agreed on the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is committed to the successful implementation of the SDGs through various activities and has taken strategic steps. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of santri in sustainable development (SDGs). This research method uses a literature review study (SLR) by examining various sources such as books, articles and others. The source search method uses Google Scholar with the keywords SDGS, Santri and those related to research. This research found several things that students (santri) play a significant role in supporting sustainable development goals (SDGs) by receiving both religious education and skills training in various fields, preparing them to face societal life and create independent businesses. Some strategies for developing life skills in pesantren include a life skills-based curriculum, strengthening the student entrepreneurship program, educational innovation to enhance student competitiveness, and collaboration with stakeholders in supporting the SDGs. Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) are expected to develop life skill-based strategies to enhance the quality of education, alleviate poverty, and provide decent employment opportunities for the students.

Abstract

A common problem in children's character education is how parents can communicate well, both with themselves and with their children in the digital era. Social media and technology often change the way families communicate, making it difficult for parents to engage in personal reflection and in-depth dialogue. In a digital environment that is fast and full of distractions, parents may find it difficult to implement consistent and effective communication techniques for their child's character development. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method. Data was obtained from books, journals and proceedings via Google Scholar, and analyzed comprehensively to be presented in the form of scientific articles. The focus of this research is how interpersonal communication between parents and generation Z can be optimized for character education. The main finding of this research is that parents' interpersonal communication plays a very important role in optimizing the character education of Generation Z through various key strategies. First, by being a role model and providing concrete examples of values such as integrity and responsibility, parents can motivate children to imitate the positive behavior they observe. Second, open discussion and dialogue allow children to develop critical thinking skills and understand character values through a constructive exchange of ideas. Third, positive reinforcement and constructive feedback, such as praise and recognition, motivate children to continue to behave in accordance with the character values taught. Fourth, through interactions with educators and peers, children learn the importance of respecting others, working together, and contributing positively to their communities, as well as values such as empathy, justice, and social responsibility. Apart from that, it is important to apply several communication techniques, such as active listening and providing emotional support to build trust and strengthen relationships; the use of clear body language and assertive communication helps avoid miscommunication and ensures messages are conveyed well;, providing constructive feedback and asking open questions facilitates a child's understanding and growth; convey empathy and apply self-disclosure techniques, where parents share personal experiences, building openness and closeness. By integrating all of these techniques, parents can create communication that supports children's character development and well-being in a holistic and sustainable manner, ensuring they receive appropriate guidance to grow into quality individuals.

Abstract

This study examines tarekat and its development in the Islamic education curriculum at Jagat Arsy Islamic Boarding School and how it affects modern society from the development of the educational model applied to it. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach, using data from observation, interviews, and documentation. The study results show that integrating tarekat into the curriculum of Islamic religious education has significant benefits, especially in developing spirituality and morality. Tarekat helps to increase self-discipline, closeness to God, and the formation of a better-centered character. However, challenges during its implementation, including resistance from conservative factions and the struggle to develop a standardized curriculum, hindered the process. The tarekat-based education model is perceived to have shifted public opinion regarding tarekat's adaptability to modern life, leading to increased support and adoption of tarekat practices. These findings reaffirm the significance of integrating tarekat into the education system and offer fresh insights for developing a comprehensive and systematic Islamic educational model.

Abstract

The rapid development of the Islamic digital economy has raised significant ethical challenges, particularly in maintaining the integrity of Sharia-based business practices amid technological disruption and globalization. However, existing studies remain limited to discussions on Islamic finance ethics, social finance integration, and digital technology implementation, without offering a holistic ethical framework rooted in Sufi values. The study aims to develop an integrative model that embeds Sufi ethics—such as sincerity (ikhlas), asceticism (Zuhud), and excellence (Ihsan)—within the Islamic digital economy through the framework of Aqidah (faith), Sharia (law), and Akhlaq (ethics). Using a qualitative approach with literature review, the researchers identify the strategic role of Sufi ethics in fostering sustainability, justice, and blessings within digital business practices. The findings reveal that the integration of Sufi ethics strengthens the ethical foundations of Islamic digital enterprises, offering practical solutions to moral dilemmas in the era of digital transformation. This study contributes a novel framework for establishing a spiritually grounded, competitive, and socially impactful Islamic digital economy.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to understand the shift in moral values among Muslim students and analyze how Islamic philosophical values are implemented in the educational process at MTs Sholihiyyah Kalitengah. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework in this study is based on Islamic philosophy that emphasizes fundamental values such as the oneness of God (monotheism), morality, responsibility, and wisdom. These values are seen as an ethical basis in the formation of students' character. Literature review: The literature review includes a study of moral decay among Muslim students, the influence of digital culture on adolescent behavior, and the urgency of education based on Islamic ethical values. In addition, the role of teachers in transforming Islamic philosophical values through Islamic Religious Education subjects is also examined. Methods: This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of interviews and in-depth discussions with three Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers who teach the subjects of Moral Beliefs, Fiqh, and Al-Qur'an Hadith at MTs Sholihiyyah Kalitengah. Results: The results of the study showed a significant shift in students' moral behavior influenced by digital culture, lack of attention from family, and lack of optimal instilling of ethical values in the learning process. Despite these challenges, teachers still strive to apply Islamic philosophical values in teaching and learning activities. Implications: The importance of integrating Islamic philosophical values more systematically into curricula and learning strategies to strengthen the character and morals of Muslim students in the face of modern cultural challenges. Novelty: This research offers a new perspective by associating the phenomenon of moral decline of students with the weak application of Islamic philosophy values in daily education, as well as providing Islamic philosophy-based solutions for character formation in secondary educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the success of implementing ISO 21001:2018 quality management at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo using the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle approach and the integration of Total Quality Management (TQM) theory. The background of this research is based on the urgency of improving the quality of pesantren-based educational institutions through international standards that are relevant to the context of Islamic education. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, involving various stakeholders such as pesantren leaders, the education bureau, teachers, students (santri), parents, alumni, and internal auditors. The results show that the systematic application of the PDCA cycle has positively impacted the effectiveness of educational management and services. The stages of planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up have been well-executed, reflecting the involvement of all institutional components. Moreover, TQM values such as customer focus, employee involvement, process approach, integrated systems, and continuous improvement have been internalized in the pesantren’s work culture. The integration of ISO 21001:2018 has also had a positive impact on stakeholder satisfaction and performance, as reflected in increased participation, transparency, and accountability in institutional management. The study recommends strengthening human resource training, digitizing the quality system, and conducting participatory evaluations as follow-up steps for sustainable quality improvement. These findings demonstrate that the implementation of international quality standards can be effectively and harmoniously integrated within pesantren culture, serving as a contextual and sustainable model for improving the quality of Islamic education.
