Abstract

The activities of the PMM are a form of Community Service at Padjadjaran University. For 2019, the proposing team has designed an activity themed Empowerment and Education for Parents of Children with Special Needs for People with Autism in Garut Regency Area by involving two related communities. First, APPAI (Association of Indonesian Autism Practitioners and Observers), a combination of various elements of the community who have concern and desire to contribute to the protection and handling of children with special needs for autism in Indonesia. The second, Portadin (Parents Association of Indonesian Disabled Children) Garut DPD is a community that accommodates ABK parents with autism in Garut. From the results of preliminary observations and the interaction of the team with the community of parents of children with special needs, it was found that there were problems in the form of knowledge and motivation constraints of parents in facing the special conditions of their children. Through PKM activities, data collection, counseling and dialogue with the target audience above are conducted, guided by experts, as a form of empowerment and education. This activity is problem solving, comprehensive, meaningful, complete, and sustainable. The phenomenological qualitative method was chosen because it is a thinking view that emphasizes the focus on subjective experiences (data revealed based on the subject's point of view) of humans and world interpretations. The steps of the activity include: preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages.

Abstract

This activity aims to growth awareness and public concern over the use of household waste. One effective way is tomake the process of recycling of waste in order to be a new product that has economic value. Sayang village, Jatinangor inSumedang district became one of priority area for the organization of this event. Its geographical location which is relativelyclose to the area of education is one reason for choosing this village. The activities in the form of Program Pengabdian kepadaMasyarakat Dosen (PPMD) is carried out by means of lectures, demonstrations and practices / trainings. The high productionof household waste and negative behaviour regarding garbage is actually an issue that is closely related to cultural behaviour.Therefore, the solution is actually should be also related with the issue of people?s mindset about the garbage. Recycling wastebins in order to produce a product that has economic value to be an alternative way to change people's mindsets about thegarbage that have tended to be negative. This activity is considered successful because of the participation of the public,especially mothers of households is quite high and active in a series of events

Abstract

This independent community service activity is entitled the assistance of french travelers visits culture in theVillage of Arts and Culture Jelekong Bale Endah - Bandung. The head of the PPM and members of PPM were acted asFrench interpreter at various activities in the village of GiriHarja or better known as Village of Jelekong. The mainobjective of this activity is to introduce of Arts and culture village of Jelekong as potential tourism assets to Frenchtourists. With this activity, Jelekong is expected  as a center of art and culture which can not only preserve Sundaneseculture but can also be more widely known and be able to develop a variety of artistic and cultural potential that alreadyexists. The activities that have been done are Sundanese culinary cooking demonstrations, painting workshop, Jaipongworkshop, and martial arts workshop. These activities are considered successful because of Jelekong people and Frenchtourist?s participation were high enough in series of activities
