Abstract

The Research we propose is to compare watermarking method using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) with Discrete Cosinus Transform (DCT). From these two methods, we will see the comparison of image has been given watermarking. By looking at the results of these two methods, the owner of digital image can select the best method to protect his data based to his need.  The watermarked image will be analyzed objectively by means square error (MSE) and peak-to-peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR). Then we will look at its influences after given noise degradation. The simulation results showed the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) methods is the best if it is compare to Discrete Cosinus Transform (DCT). Keywords: DWT, DCT, image processing, noise, MSE, PSNR

Abstract

Power electronic devices are the main component of the solar power generation system. This study proposes a web-based monitoring system which presents power electronic performance parameter in a real-time across an internet connection. The investigation takes ACS712 and PZEM-004T for the power converter performance measuring and Arduino Mega 2560 with an ethernet shield for data acquisition and transmission. This paper describes the schematic design of the hardware and also explains the software work-flow and structure. The test and calibration on the sensor's voltage and current to standard digital multi-meter Tektronix DMM4050 show the sensor able to accurately read the converter performance parameter and meet the standard IEC-61724. The functionality test on the web-based information system indicates the designed user interface to present the power electronic performance parameter of the solar power generator.Keywords: Monitoring System, Power Electronics and Solar Power

Abstract

In the telecommunication systems, the data like audio, image, and video are transmitted to a receiver through a communication channel. However, the presence of noise and fading in the channel will degrade its performance. The degradation may cause error on signal detection and change the bits or symbols on the receiver. By applying a RS Code channel coding technique on the transmitter and the receiver, it may improve the performance of digital communication system. The influence of employing the RS Code channel coding technique on the system with noise Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and Rayleigh fading has been analyzed through a simulation. Performance evaluation on the use of RS Code channel coding technique can be determined from the analysis of Bit Error Rate (BER) and Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR). The simulation result shows that the system is improved by 5dB on the receiver compares to the system without using RS Code channel coding technique. Keywords : Reed Solomon Code , Noise AWGN, Fading Rayleigh, PSNR, BER AbstrakDalam sistem telekomunikasi, data multimedia berupa audio, citra, dan video ditransmisikan ke penerima melalui sebuah kanal komunikasi. Pada sistem telekomunikasi yang menggunakan kanal komunikasi wireless, selain pengaruh redaman, gangguan yang paling dominan adalah noise dan fading. Fading dan noise dikanal akan menurunkan kinerja sistem telekomunikasi digital karena dapat menyebabkan terjadinya kesalahan pendeteksian sinyal, sehingga terjadi perubahan bit atau simbol pada sisi penerima. Dengan menerapkan teknik pengkodean kanal tipe Reed Solomon Code pada sisi pengirim dan penerima, maka dapat ditingkatkan kinerja dari sistem komunikasi digital tersebut. Melalui simulasi dalam penelitian ini, telah dianalisa pengaruh penerapan teknik pengkodean kanal Reed Solomon Code pada sistem yang dipengaruhi noise Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) dan fading Rayleigh. Besarnya pengaruh penggunaan dari teknik pengkodean kanal Reed Solomon Code dapat diketahui melalui analisa Bit Error Rate (BER) dan Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR). In digital communication systems, their fading and noise in the channel will disrupt or degrade the performance of a digital communication system. Where this disorder, can cause the error detection signal, so as to change bits or symbols at the receiver side. By applying the techniques of the equal gain combining diversity at the receiving end, it can be improved the performance of the digital communication system. Through simulation in this study have been analyzed, the effect of the application of the equal gain combining diversity technique on the affected system noise AWGN and Rayleigh fading. The magnitude of the effect of the equal gain combining diversity technique used can be determined through analysis of the BER. Abstract

This study is the simulation of SPIHT image compression using diversity selection combining techniques. The image is compressed by using SPIHT compression techniques after wavelet decomposition. By giving Rayleigh fading channel and AWGN on the channel transmission will cause the degradation of the overall system performance. To minimize the effects caused by the errors that occur during the transmission, the diversity selection combining techniques are used at the receiver that work on the wavelet domain in order to increase the overall system performance. Performance evaluation on the use of selection combining diversity technique can be determined through PSNR analysis. The simulation results of this study indicate that applying the diversity selection combining techniques on the system that affected by noise AWGN and Rayleigh fading can increase the performance of the overall system at the receiver when comparing to the receiver without using the selection combining diversity techniques.Keywords : Diversity Selection Combining, Noise AWGN, Fading Rayleigh, PSNR, BERAbstrak – Penelitian ini merupakan simulasi citra terkompresi SPIHT menggunakan teknik diversity selection combining. Citra yang digunakan dikompresi terlebih dahulu dengan teknik kompresi SPIHT setelah didekomposisi wavelet. Abstract

False alarm in fire detection can cause a huge loss. False alarm is generated by unwanted signal of smoke detector such as outdoor smoke or smoking. Therefore, it is designed a system that can reduce false alarm. The purposed system is built based on three components, those are sensors, actuators and data communication. Sensors are smoke, flame and camera sensor. Smoke sensor is used as the first thing to sense a signal from the system that warns the system there is a fire. Flame sensor and camera are used to confirm that a signal of fire whether false alarm or not. Internet of Things (IoT) is applied to control the system. The result show that the system is applicable.

Abstract

Soil temperature and humidity are important factors in affecting the condition of agricultural sector, which has an impact on the quality and quantity of the production. Lack of information on the condition of agricultural soil is one of the causes in productivity deficiency in the process of agricultural cultivation. The application of technology in the field of agriculture is expected to be able to reduce various adverse effects of agricultural soil conditions. One of which is by periodic monitoring, such as the temperature and humidity of agricultural soil. This research aims to design LoRa technology to be used as a data transmission medium for monitoring soil temperature and humidity by applying a system that is based on the Blynk application, which will make the users easier to monitor the system remotely. The temperature sensor was able to acquire data with 98.37% accuracy and the soil humidity sensor was able to acquire data with 91.63% accuracy. The changes in LoRa transmission parameters for monitoring data have an effect on the quality of its performance. The experimental results with Bandwidth variation (BW) from 31.25 kHz, 62.50 kHz, 125 kHz, 250 kHz, and 500 kHz at a distance of 15m, the best SNR and RSSI values were obtained for BW 31.25 kHz with values of 5.42 dB and -104.90 dBm. Whereas, the best ToA is obtained with a BW of 500 kHz with a value of 27.50 ms. While, the experimental result with the variation of Coding Rate (CR) from CR 4/5, 4/6, 4/7, and 4/8 at a distance of 15m, the best SNR and RSSI values were obtained CR 4/8 with values of 4.10 dB and -106.40 dBm and he best ToA was obtained CR 4/5 with a value of 112.70 ms. In testing by using variation Spreading Factor (SF) from SF7, SF9, and SF12, the higher the SF value used, the wider the range of area data communication will be. Configuration SF7 and SF9 were only able to reach a distance of 25m, while SF12 was able to reach a distance of 35m.
