Abstract

Water is a natural resource that is needed for all living things. Likewise with the river used for irrigation of agricultural land. The Cigayem River is located in Dukupuntang District, Cirebon Regency. Above the river there are many natural stone cottage industries. The processing of natural stone into decorative stone requires a lot of water for its processing, so that a lot of river water in this area is polluted from this home industry activity. The waste is in the form of powder cut from natural stone with water which is directly channeled into irrigation canals without being processed first. The effect is siltation of irrigation canals and decreased water quality. This decrease in water quality has an impact on rice productivity in heavily affected areas. Pollution that occurs in irrigation canals in the study area can be identified by physical changes such as color and other impacts such as decreased productivity of rice yields in the study area since the establishment of the natural stone industry. The decline in rice productivity will threaten the sustainability of rice farming in central areas. Wastewater treatment technology has been developed a lot, but not all home industries can carry out waste treatment at a high cost. Eco enzyme can be a solution to waste pollution that pollutes rivers at a relatively low cost, easy to obtain and sustainable because all materials do not contain harmful chemicals and residues.

Abstract

Slurry is by product of stone process, as cutting and polishing of natural stone. The consequence of the exixtence of slurry can be seen on irrigation water quality and degraded soil such sufficient nutrient and soil physics properties. The aims of this research was to analyse the effect of soil amandment on degraded soil to improve growth of Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.). This research was conducted in June to August 2024 in Dukuhpuntang Cirebon using the Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The treatments are combination of the rice straw compost and soil affected by natural stone waste as planting media, including: A0 (control 100% soil affected by natural stone waste), A1 (25% soil affected by natural stone waste: 75% rice straw compost), A2 (50% soil affected by natural stone waste: 50% rice straw compost), A3 (75% soil affected by natural stone waste: 25% rice straw compost). Each combination treatment repeated 6 times. The research show that the utilization of rice straw compost in soil affected by natural stone waste as planting media increasing number of plant height, number of leaves, and fresh weight consumption by 41%, 39%, and 83%. Soil amendment improving the soil properties through ideal condition for plant growth, including reducing the soil compaction.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the combined concentration of shallot extract and cutting material on growth of jasmine (Jasminum sambac. L). This research was carried out in the village of Cilengkrang Girang, Pasaleman District, Cirebon Regency. In April to July 2021. The method in this research is the experimental method with non factorial completely randomized design. The treatment consisted of combination of cutting materials and shallot extract concentration. (A)= top stam cutting + concentration of 50%, (B) = middle stam cutting + concentration of 50%, (C)= bottom stam cutting + concentration of 50%, (D)= top stam cutting + concentration of 75%, (E)= middle stam cutting + concentration of 75%, (F)= bottom stam cutting + concentration of 75%, (G)= top stam cutting + concentration of 100%, (H)= middle stam cutting + concentration of 100%, (I)= bottom stam cutting + concentration of 100%. The treatment combination consisted of 9 and all were repeated 3 times, and there are 27 experimental unit treatments. The result show that the concentration of shallot extract and cutting material had no significant effect on growth of jasmine (Jasminum sambac. L) cultivar Bandar Arum.
