Abstract

Poverty in Indonesia is currentely a very pressing problem. One way the government is trying to reduce the poverty rate in Indonesia is by implementing the BPNT program. Non-Cash Food Assistance Program, aimed at poor communities with the criteria of beneficiary families. This research looks at the feasibility of the BPNT Program in improving community welfare in Rejo Binangun Vilage. The research method used in the research uses quantitative methods with descriptive analysis. The population in this study was 320 KPM, the Solvin formula was used to obtain a more specific sample size of 76 KPM. Previous research related to BPNT only focused on poverty allevation, therefore this research tries to see the feasibility of the BPNT Program in improving community welfare. The results of the research found that there was a difference in BPNT distribution, which was originally in the form of basic necessities, now in the form of cash. Furthermore, in regression testing, the result showed that there was a positive and significant influence on community welfare. Therefore, it can be said that the Non-Cash Food Assistance program is still feasible in improving community welfare in terms of access to food, nutritional quality, family welfare, family finances and benefits for KPM recipients.

Abstract

Cross-dressing refers to the act of donning garments often associated with the opposite gender. Throughout history, cross-dressing has been extensively recorded and is frequently linked to stereotypes such as deviance, fetishism, exhibitionism, sexual deviance, and homosexuality. Coping mechanisms refer to psychological strategies employed by the subconscious mind to shield individuals from feelings of anxiety, social repercussions, and unmanageable circumstances in the immediate present. This study aimed to elucidate that Cross-Dressing is not just attributable to perceptions of sexual deviance and transvestism, but rather, other factors contribute to an individual's adoption of Cross-Dressing. The research methodology employed in this study is a single-design case study. The study found that the participants experienced the loss of their beloved mother as a catalyst for adopting a Cross-Dressing lifestyle, perceiving it as a means to compensate for the void created by her death. The findings of this study indicate that cross-dressing behaviour serves as a long-lasting method for individuals to repress their emotions related to loss rather than being primarily attributed to transvestism or preconceptions of sexual deviance associated with the subject of investigation.

Abstract

Gender socialization within the family is a crucial process that determines a woman’s future quality of life. The family serves as the primary agent for the structural transmission of gender norms to women. Studies on gender socialization in modern families generally highlight the dynamics of domestic role division and the negotiation of relationships. Nevertheless, women are still often positioned as passive recipients of the effects of social structures. This study aims to reconstruct this understanding by positioning women as active, reflective agents capable of interpreting, modifying, and negotiating gender norms based on religious values. This study employs a literature review approach through thematic synthesis of accredited national journal articles (minimum SINTA 4) and international theoretical literature. This study identified six strategies women employ in negotiating gender socialization: selective acceptance, reinterpretation of religious values, symbolic compromise and covert resistance, relational negotiation, management of dual roles, and cross-domain identity differentiation within the family and digital spaces. The analysis results indicate that gender socialization in modern families is a dialogical process between structure and agency. Research Implications – This study is limited to the specific literature cited for analysis, focusing on women’s strategies for negotiating gender socialization while considering religious values. Therefore, generalizations cannot be made to all modern families, which have distinct specific conditions. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the development of gender studies in Indonesia at the micro level. This study not only examines women’s strategies for addressing gender value contradictions but also views women as active individuals living within both modern families and digital spaces, who reinterpret religious teachings to apply them in the process of gender socialization at the family level.
