Abstract

This study aims to examine the mathematical critical thinking ability of students who obtain a Scientific Approach compared to those who obtain ordinary learning. The method used in this research is the experimental method. The research subject in this study were students of SMPN 9 Cimahi, who were randomly selected from two classes out of all 8 grades. Then two classes were randomly assigned to become the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class gets learning with a Scientific Approach and the control class gets regular learning. The instrument used is a test of mathematical critical thinking skills. From the results of the data analysis it was concluded that an increase in the ability to think critically mathematically of students who received a Scientific Approach was better than those who received regular learning.

Abstract

This research is a study that focuses on the development of realistic-based mathematics teaching materials on high school students' mathematical communication skills on sequences and series material. Research and Development (R&D) is the research used, the model to support this research is using the ADDIE model which has 5 stages in its application, the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. However, the discussion in this article only extends to the practicality test which is the advanced stage of the Development stage. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire (validation and response). Validation was carried out by material experts, ICT experts, and responses were obtained from teachers and students. Material expert validation results reached a percentage of 85.10% of the average interpretation of "very feasible", ICT expert validation results were at 83.80% with the final statement "Very Feasible", student and teacher responses in the product test were obtained successively of 85.62% ("Very Practical") and 94.38% ("Very Practical"), the conclusion is that the mathematical material based on canva-assisted realistic is "Very Appropriate" and "Very Practical" in use for learning mathematics in senior high school.

Abstract

Mathematical communication ability and learning independence is one of the things that students must have and master in order to achieve competency in learning, especially in learning mathematics. This research has the aim of improving mathematical communication skills and learning independence of class X students of Al-IHSAN Batujajar Vocational School through the development of mathematics teaching materials on sequences and series material using a problem solving approach assisted by the Canva video application. The research method used is the research and development (RnD) Plomp model. The instruments used are teaching material validation tests, mathematical communication skills tests and non-learning independence tests. The validation instruments were given to ICT experts and material experts. As for the ability and independence tests given to class X students of SMK Al-IHSAN. From the results of the study it was found that the teaching materials developed showed very valid results based on the results of ICT expert and material expert assessment and based on the results of student assessments it was found that the teaching materials were very feasible to use and received very practical criteria. In addition, the application of the problem solving approach in learning can improve students' mathematical communication skills and also student learning independence in terms of the results of post-test data analysis.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan jenis kesalahan siswa SMK kelas XI dalam menyelesaikan soal pada materi fungsi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif, dengan subjek 33 siswa kelas XI TOI-B SMKN 1 Cimahi yang terdiri dari 7 orang siswa perempuan dan 26 orang siswa laki-laki. Data kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan persoalan materi fungsi diperoleh dari tes tertulis dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat empat jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal fungsi, yaitu kesalahan konsep, kesalahan fakta, kesalahan prinsip, dan kesalahan operasi. Faktor penyebab kesalahan terjadi pada siswa karena kurangnya penguasaan materi prasyarat, tidak memeriksa kembali hasil akhir, dan masih kesulitan dalam membuat model matematika dari suatu soal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan jenis dan penyebab kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal materi lingkaran. Jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek 18 siswa kelas IX di SMPN 10 Cimahi. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan metode tes dan wawancara. Instrumen berupa 5 soal tes uraian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 3 jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa yaitu kesalahan konsep sebesar 27,75%, kesalahan prinsip sebesar 5,55%, dan kesalahan algoritma sebesar 5,55%.  Penyebab kesalahan siswa yaitu kurang memahami konsep lingkaran dan materi prasyarat, kurang teliti dalam membaca dan mengerjakan soal, tidak paham maksud soal, dan sebagian materi belum diajarkan.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to find out whether there is an increase in students' mathematical reasoning abilities with the discovery learning learning model compared to ordinary learning. The method used was quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were class VIII students at SMP PGRI 1 Cimahi. The sample in this study was 30 students from class VIII-C and class VIII-D for each class. Class VIII-C is used as an experimental class and class VIII-D is used as a control class. The data collection technique in this research was through a written test consisting of six descriptive questions. The data obtained will be analyzed and processed with the help of IBM SPSS version 26 for Windows software. Based on the research results, H_0 was rejected and H_1 was accepted, meaning that there was an increase in the mathematical reasoning abilities of students whose learning used regular learning. Thus it can be concluded that there is an increase in mathematical reasoning abilities in the experimental class which uses the Discovery Learning Learning Model.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out whether the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach can improve students' mathematical communication skills. When compared with conventional learning, the results are better. The research method and design used is an experimental method (True Experimental Design) with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research population was class VII students at SMPN 3 Cipeundeuy. The samples studied were students in class VII-A as the experimental class and VII-B as the control class, with a total of 32 students in each class. The data collection technique used in this research is pretest and posttest data. Then the data was processed using Microsoft Excel 2013 and IBM SPSS Statistics 26 software. The results of data processing showed that Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted. So it can be concluded that the achievement of students' mathematical communication skills who use the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach is better than those who use conventional learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the students' mathematical connection ability before and after getting Contextual Teaching and Learning. The subjects were the 26 students of class VIII-A at SMI 1 MANIIS, Purwakarta Regency. The research used the descriptive method with the qualitative approach. The data for the analysis were from the test to student consist of 5 questions with 4 different indicators. The results shows that all students have moderate in mathematical connection ability with the overall results of 65.83%. For the results of each indicator, there is one indicator that has not been met, understanding the equivalent representation from one procedure to another one, or from one concept to another concept. So it can be concluded that the mathematical connection ability in terms of the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach has a significant effect.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of mathematical connections and students' self confidence through the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model. This research is a qualitative descriptive.. The instruments used in this study were the description test and self confidence questionnaire. From the results of the completion of the student description test, it was found that the level of mathematical connection ability through the Think Pair Share learning model for junior high school students is still relatively low. This is influenced by several factors, one of them is students' lack of understanding of the material and students are not able to transform the problem posed into the knowledge they have. This can be seen from the mistakes of students in working on the test description. Meanwhile, even though the test results of the mathematical connection description are still low, the scale of the students' self-confidence attitude is good enough at 60.96%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara resiliensi matematis dengan kemampuan akademik mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Statistika Matematika. Penelitian ini didasari oleh capaian akademik pada mata kuliah Statistika Matematika yang tergolong rendah. Mahasiswa merasa kesulitan dan mudah menyerah dalam menyelesaikan soal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah adalah metode survey dengan teknik korelasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika IKIP Siliwangi, sampel penelitian diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling sebanyak 30 orang mahasiswa yang mengambil mata kuliah Statistika Matematika. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa soal tes uraian kemampuan akademik dan soal non tes berupa skala resiliensi matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif antara resiliensi matematis dengan kemampuan akademik mahasiswa, dengan kontribusi resiliensi matematis sebesar 48,5 % terhadap kemampuan akademik mahasiswa.
