Abstract

The communication skills of eighth grade junior high school students are catergorized as low. The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe aspects of mathematical communication skill, the research subjects consisted of 10 class students in one of the private schools located in Cimahi. The research method with data collection techniques. From the descript test regarding the two variabel linear equation system of 4 question. The results of this study indicated that students mathematical communication skill are categorized as moderate with a percentage of 42.5 % with the percentage of each item, number one 47.5 %, question number two 60 %, and question number four 32.5 %.

Abstract

This study aims to increase confidence in learning mathematics and improve learning outcomes by applying NHT type cooperative learning models to the subject of fractions. This type of research is one group pretest-posttest design experimental research subjects with class VII-B, amounting to 25 people. To retrieve the data, an instrument was used in the form of a test sheet about fractions as many as 5 question descriptions and a questionnaire about confidence in learning mathematics as many as 25 statements. The results of research before and after treatment are: (1) self-confidence can affect the improvement of student learning outcomes. (2) before getting treatment the student grades were still relatively low with an average grade of 59. (3) after getting treated with NHT type cooperative learning, student learning outcomes improved with an average value of 75.2.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana kesalahan pada siswa kelas XI dalam mengerjakan soal materi matriks. Penelitian yang termasuk kedalam  penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian adalah  siswa kelas XI MAN di Cimahi yang berjumlah 9 orang. Instrument tes yang diberikan yaitu lima butir soal. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah tes. Data yang diperoleh adalah kesalahan yang siswa lakukan dalam menjawab setiap butir soal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bawah siswa yang menjawab benar pada soal nomor satu sebesar100%, soal nomor dua sebesar 66,7%, soal nomor tiga sebesar 10%, soal nomor empat sebesar 100%, dan soal nomor lima sebesar 77,8%. Hasil presentase siswa yang menjawab benar menunjukan bahwa masih banyak kesalahan  yang dilakukan siswa. Kesalahan tersebut berada pada soal nomor dua, tiga dan lima. Karena bisa dilihat dari presentase ketiga nomor tersebut memiliki presentase cukup rendah, berbeda dengan soal nomor satu dan empat yang memiliki presentase sangat baik. Kesalahan yang ditemukan pada ketiga nomor  diantaranya : 1) kesalahan konsep perkalian matriks, 2) kesalahan dalam perhitungan, 3) kesalahan tidak menuliskan tanda operasi, 4) kesalahan konsep, dan 5) kesalahan kecerobohan. Kesalahan ini disebabkan siswa lupa materi, kecorobohan, kurang memperhatikan informasi yang dari soal dan tidak telitinya siswa dalam mengerjakan soal.ABSTRACTThe goal of this research is to describe how wrong all of the students in the sophomores have been in solving matrix material. The method of this research is qualitative descriptive research. The subject in this research is XI grade of MAN CIMAHI  is 9 person. The instrument of the test was given the five grains of matter. The data-collection of this technique is a test. The data was obtained is a student's fault in answering every questions. Based on the results was obtained by the undergraduates who get the right answers on the number is one problem is 100%, the problem of number two is 66.7%, the problem of number three is 10%, the problem of number four is 100%, and the problem of number five at 77.8%. The results of this research is student do the presentation that gave the correct answer show there are many mistakes of the students. The fault shows in problem number two, three and five. Because it evidenced in the third percentage that the number has a fairly low percentage, in contrast to the number one and four that have a very good presentation. The Errors found in all three numbers such as : 1) matrix multiplication errors, 2) errors in calculation, 3) errors did not mark operations, 4) draft errors, and 5) discretionary errors. The mistake was caused by students forgetting the material, demolition, lacking interest and not studying in their problem of students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini betujuan untuk mendapatkan deskripsi analisis kesalahan soal trigonometri yang dianggap sulit oleh siswa Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan penyebab kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal trigonometri. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa SMK Kelas XI IOP B di Kota Cimahi yang sudah mengampu mata pelajaran Trigonometri, dari 33 siswa diambil 3 jawaban siswa sebagai sampel yang dapat dianalisis hasil jawabannya.  Intrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa tes yang terdiri atas 5 butir soal. Berdasarkan tes uji soal terhadap siswa kesalahan yang dibuat oleh siswa ketika menjawab soal adalah kesalahan dalam menentukan perbandingan trigonometri, kesalahan dalam menentukan langkah penyelesaian, kesalahan dalam menentukan panjang sisi-sisi segitiga dan tidak membuat kesimpulan jawaban.ABSTRACTThis research aims to obtain the description of error analysis in solving trigonometric problem that is considered difficult by students. The method in this research was descriptive qualitative which aimed to find out and described the causes of student errors in solving trigonometric problems. The subjects of this research were students of Class XI IOP B Vocational School in Cimahi who had mastered Trigonometry, from 33 students taken 3 student answers as samples that could be analyzed the results of the answers. The instruments that used in this research were test instrument consisting of 5 questions. Based on the test of students' questions the mistakes made by students when answering questions are errors in determining trigonometric comparisons, errors in determining the completion step, errors in determining the length of the sides of the triangle and not making conclusions on the answers.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan jenis kesalahan siswa SMK kelas XI dalam menyelesaikan soal pada materi fungsi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif, dengan subjek 33 siswa kelas XI TOI-B SMKN 1 Cimahi yang terdiri dari 7 orang siswa perempuan dan 26 orang siswa laki-laki. Data kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan persoalan materi fungsi diperoleh dari tes tertulis dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat empat jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal fungsi, yaitu kesalahan konsep, kesalahan fakta, kesalahan prinsip, dan kesalahan operasi. Faktor penyebab kesalahan terjadi pada siswa karena kurangnya penguasaan materi prasyarat, tidak memeriksa kembali hasil akhir, dan masih kesulitan dalam membuat model matematika dari suatu soal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan jenis dan penyebab kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal materi lingkaran. Jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek 18 siswa kelas IX di SMPN 10 Cimahi. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan metode tes dan wawancara. Instrumen berupa 5 soal tes uraian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 3 jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa yaitu kesalahan konsep sebesar 27,75%, kesalahan prinsip sebesar 5,55%, dan kesalahan algoritma sebesar 5,55%.  Penyebab kesalahan siswa yaitu kurang memahami konsep lingkaran dan materi prasyarat, kurang teliti dalam membaca dan mengerjakan soal, tidak paham maksud soal, dan sebagian materi belum diajarkan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difficulty of students in solving the problem description on the material to build a flat sided space. Indicators of difficulty in research are difficulties in understanding concepts, difficulties in applying principles and difficulties in skills. This research method using qualitative descriptive method. This research is conducted in SMP Negeri 1 Cihampelas in Grade VIII of academic year 2019-2020. The population of this study was all eighth grade junior high school students in West Bandung Regency. The subject of the research is the students of class VIII-10, namely students who have high mathematical abilities, moderate mathematical abilities, and low mathematics. To obtain research data an instrument was used in the form of test item description. The results of this study prove that subjects with high mathematical ability are able to apply principles and are skilled in solving problems, but still have difficulty understanding concepts and mathematical abilities are already able to understand concepts but in applying principles are still having difficulties and also experiencing skills difficulties, whereas low mathematically capable subjects have not been able to apply concepts and in applying principles are also still experiencing difficulties and experiencing difficulty in skills.

Abstract

In this study to carry out the learning process, it is necessary to evaluate students to find out errors during the learning process. The purpose of this study was to find out the learning errors of class VIII students in mathematics, the subject of a two-variable linear equation system with the elimination method. This study uses quantitative descriptive research to determine the percentage of students' errors in learning. The subjects of this study used 1 room, namely room 06 class VIII-C with 20 students, consisting of 13 boys and 7 girls. One room has characteristics with low, medium and high categories seen from the acquisition of the Final Semester Assessment. The test instrument of this research used 5 questions. Difficulty in solving mathematics learning problems with two-variable system of linear equations which include: 1). Difficulty in making a mathematical model of the material system of linear equations of two variables; 2). Difficulty in understanding the problem; 3). Difficulty in the calculation process 4). Difficulty in concept.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of the test items for mathematics subjects on the material of a two-variable system of linear equations with a combined method. That the thing is that learning is limited by researchers will conduct research at SMP Negeri 2 Haurwangi with research subjects of class VIII students who are in class 05 which contains 17 students. In class 05, students have different characteristics, from high, medium, and low categories which can be obtained from the assessment of students' answers to the test questions given. The items made consist of 3 questions. With easy, medium, and difficult categories. Given this research is a research that uses quantitative descriptive which will be analyzed using Ms. Excel based on Validity, Reliability, Distinguishing Power and Difficulty Index. The results showed that; 1) the three items with very high validity and high reliability, 2) based on the discriminatory power of interpretation is less, 3) based on the difficulty index of question no. 1 and 2 are moderate, while question no. 3 is difficult.

Abstract

Being able to think creatively is crucial for kids since creativity is required to address difficulties. The purpose of this research was to find out the characteristics of creative thinking ability of high school students in relation to a  two-variable linear equation system. This study was conducted in a  high school in West Bandung district, and one class, namely class VIII B, with 23 students participated in the study. The method  used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method. This study used test instruments and non-test instruments in the form of questions and interviews. The effects confirmed that students have been able to resolve questions based on only  two indicators of creative thinking ability, ie. fluency 55.32% and flexibility 68%, and students could not  solve tasks based on news indicators one 14,44%. Based on the results of the interviews, this resulted in students who generally could not work  and solve questions with their own answers or thoughts, but only procedurally followed the SPLDV problem solving method.
