Abstract

The method of implementing this community service is systematically designed to overcome the problems faced by the target partner, Ma Utik, in developing the Cilembu yam industry and its processed products. The preparation and planning stages as well as socialization and initial training are the main focuses in this program. The preparation stage begins with an initial survey to identify partner needs related to marketing, business management, distribution network development, and product innovation. A service team consisting of experts in economics, management, agribusiness, and informatics was formed with a division of tasks according to competence. A structured work plan includes a schedule of activities, implementation methods, and indicators of success, as well as careful management of budgets and resources. Socialization and training materials were developed based on partner needs to ensure in-depth understanding and mastery of relevant skills. The socialization phase begins with an initial meeting to introduce the program's objectives, benefits and solutions to partners, while accommodating their inputs. Initial training was conducted to provide partners with a foundation of knowledge and skills. Marketing strategy training covers the use of social media, digital marketing, branding, and promotion. Business management training covers business planning, financial management, and strategic decision-making using business management software. Distribution network development training includes negotiating and building relationships with distributors, as well as utilizing communication technology. Product innovation training includes identification of market trends and development of new products using market research technology. Through this approach, it is expected that partners can understand the program objectives and acquire the necessary skills to improve their competitiveness. With effective coordination between the service team, community partners, and supporting institutions, this program can run smoothly and have a significant impact. The implementation of a digital marketing application specifically for Cilembu yam products is one of the main results that is expected to increase product visibility, facilitate customer access, strengthen branding, and increase interaction with customers and business partners

Abstract

This study aims to integrate modern agricultural technology into soybean cultivation through the application of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based crop monitoring system combined with artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud-based data processing. The research was conducted at two experimental sites to evaluate system performance under different environmental conditions. IoT sensors and AI algorithms were utilized to monitor soil moisture, temperature, and plant health, optimize irrigation, detect pests, predict yield, and analyze plant health. Data collected included irrigation efficiency, pest control effectiveness, and plant health, which were analyzed using statistical methods. The results showed that the implementation of IoT-based monitoring technology significantly improved the technical efficiency of soybean farming by optimizing the use of land, fertilizer, and labor. Farms using monitoring technology achieved an average technical efficiency score of 0.991, higher than farms without technology, which only reached 0.920. In addition, the technology reduced water and fertilizer wastage, increased productivity, and supported data-driven agricultural decision-making. In conclusion, the application of IoT- and AI-based crop monitoring systems enhances the sustainability and productivity of soybean farming and provides an effective approach to improving agricultural efficiency in modern farming systems.

Abstract

Hybrid maize (Zea mays L.) is one of the strategic commodities in Indonesia that plays an important role in supporting national food security and farmers’ income. One of the technologies introduced to improve maize productivity is Integrated Crop Management (ICM), which integrates several agronomic practices such as the use of improved varieties, optimal plant population, balanced fertilization, and integrated pest management. However, the level of ICM adoption among farmers is still varied, which may affect production performance and farm income. This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of Integrated Crop Management (ICM) technology and to compare the production and income of hybrid maize farmers who implement ICM technology and those who do not. The research used a quantitative survey approach involving hybrid maize farmers as respondents. Data was collected through field observations, interviews, and farm records. The results showed that the implementation of ICM technology significantly improved hybrid maize production and farmers’ income. Farmers implementing ICM technology achieved an average income of IDR 6,247,824 per hectare per planting season, while farmers applying non-ICM practices earned IDR 2,475,494 per hectare per planting season. The higher income was mainly driven by better crop management practices, including optimal plant population, balanced fertilization, and integrated pest management. These findings indicate that Integrated Crop Management technology contributes to improving production efficiency and farm profitability. Therefore, strengthening the dissemination and adoption of ICM technology is important to enhance the sustainability of hybrid maize farming systems

Abstract

Changes in subsidized fertilizer policies are felt to have a direct effect on the use of production factors and the income of red chili farmers. Data from the Central Statistics Agency for 2022 shows a decrease in the harvested area of ??1,380 Ha (58%) and production of 13,830.8 tons (53%) of red chilies in Cianjur Regency. This is the basis for research whether the decline in production is one of the impacts of changes in subsidized fertilizers. The research method is descriptive verification, the analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. The number of samples taken is 75 red chili farmers in Cipanas District. Subsidized fertilizer policy is one of the government policies in an effort to improve the economy of the farming community. However, these policy changes can have a significant impact on production factors and farmer incomes. This study reveals that changes in subsidized fertilizer policies have a significant effect on the income of red chili farmers. Changes in the policy of reducing the type of fertilizer and the allocation of fertilizer subsidies by 10% reduced farmers' income by 4.68%. Factors of Production affect the Income of Red Chili Farmers where changes in the use of factors of production after Minister of Agriculture No. 10 of 2022 where the type of fertilizer and the dosage of subsidized fertilizers change results in reduced farmer income. This study concludes that the income of red chili farmers is significantly influenced by production factors. After the enactment of the Minister of Agriculture, every change in the use of production factors by 10% in Production Factors contributed to an increase in farmers' income by 3.16%.
