Abstract

Abstract

The percentage of diabetes incidence increased from 6.9% to 8.5% in Indonesia starting from 2013 to 2018. In 2012 the mortality rate due to diabetes was 1.5 million deaths. Hyperglycemia above the threshold increases 2.2 million deaths and the risk of cardiovascular disease. DM caused 1.5 million deaths in 2012. Blood sugars higher than the upper limit resulted in an additional 2.2 million deaths, increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease. Blood pressure patterns change during the development of hypertension in patients with or without diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus and hypertension often occur together. Knowing the common causes and mechanisms of disease allows for a more effective and proactive approach to its prevention and treatment. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship of blood glucose, nutritional status, mood and length of suffering in patients with Type II Diabetes Mellitus (DM Type II) to blood pressure. The research instruments used were Blood glucose monitoring system GE100, Spygnomanometer (Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor HEM-7130), weight scales, height measuring devices and FACES Test. The study used a cross-sectional correlational quantitative method with a consecutive sample technique of 51 diabetic patients. Spearman's test is used in this research. The results of the correlation test with the significance value of p are 0.000 and 0.004 . Blood Glucose Levels and Mood/mood have a correlation with blood pressure and have a strong and moderate correlation strength. Further research is needed to holistically identify changes in blood pressure in patients with diabetes.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 (DMT2) is a major problem in health, the number of deaths, the high cost of care. DMT2 has an increase in glucose (hyperglycemic) due to insulin metabolism problems in the body. Giving bay leaf powder and ginger can reduce blood glucose in patients with T2DM. The aim of the study was to compare the effectiveness of bay leaves and ginger on blood sugar levels in T2DM patients. The population of all DMT2 patients was 30 people, a sample of 23 DMT2 patients, aged 35-70 years, all DMT2 patients who underwent treatment for 1 week, with a dose of 1 capsule twice per day as much as 1000 mg, analysis using paired test and T-Test. The results of the T-Test value study showed the effect of ginger powder consumption on blood glucose levels in T2DM patients. There is an effect of consumption of bay leaf powder on blood glucose levels in patients with T2DM. There was no significant difference between the consumption of ginger powder and bay leaf on blood glucose levels in patients with T2DM. The recommendation for further research is to conduct further research, prioritizing digging in more detail about confounding factors and observing these confounding factors.

Abstract

Cardiovascular disease is a major health problem in the world. Hypertension is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases. Efforts to control and treat hypertension are very important so as not to cause complications. Hypertension control can be done with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. One of the non-pharmacological therapies is black garlic therapy with solo garlic variant. The type of research used is pre experimental with a one-group pretest and post-test design. Researchers analyzed the respondents' blood pressure before and after being given black garlic variant solo garlic therapy for 14 days. The research was carried out in the working area of the Gedangan Village Health Center, Malang Regency from March to June 2022. The population in this study were patients with hypertension in the working area of the Gedangan Health Center. The sampling technique used consecutive sampling with a total sampling of 20 samples. Analysis of the data used by using the paired t test. The results showed that there were differences in blood pressure values after consuming black garlic variants of garlic (systole -value 0.000, diastole -value 0.014). The hope is that the public can use non-pharmacological black garlic therapy, especially the solo garlick variant, as a complementary therapy in controlling blood pressure.

Abstract

The overall prevalence of dry skin was found to be 60%. Decreased skin moisture levels can result from various factors, including cold weather, aging, and certain medical conditions. Dry skin is often accompanied by itching and discomfort. The application of moisturizers can improve dry skin and help maintain hydration. The objective of this study was to develop an aloe vera-shea butter lotion gel formulation to retain skin moisture. A descriptive observational design was employed to characterize the properties of the aloe vera-shea butter lotion gel formula. The study included 27 adult participants, all aged over 18 and without a history of allergies. The formulation contained aloe vera leaves, shea butter, vegetable glycerin, xanthan gum, Geogard 221, and rose essential oil. Skin moisture levels were measured using a skin moisture detector. The results showed that the lotion gel had a pH of 5, a homogeneous consistency, a spread ability of 6 cm, a white color, a characteristic aloe vera and rose scent, and a thick, smooth texture. An irritation test revealed that 96.3% of participants experienced no irritation. Additionally, the formulation significantly increased skin moisture, transitioning from dry to moisturized skin. The average percentage increase in skin moisture was 23.25% at 1 minute, 34.96% at 3 minutes, and 34.69% at 5 minutes after application. In conclusion, the aloe vera-shea butter lotion gel formulation effectively enhanced skin moisture levels. This formula can be used as an intervention to address dry skin or moisture depletion in future studies.
