Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that the history learning process in schools is often considered boring and less relevant to students' lives. Initial observations at SMPN 3 Srengat Blitar showed that the dominant lecture method makes students less focused, tend to be passive, and learning outcomes are less than optimal. This condition demands learning innovations that can involve students actively and meaningfully. One alternative used is the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model. The focus of this research is to describe the application of the STAD model to improve the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students on the history of the arrival of Western nations to Indonesia. The research objectives include: (1) outlining the steps for implementing the STAD model, (2) identifying supporting and inhibiting factors, and (3) determining the impact of STAD implementation on improving student learning outcomes. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative with a naturalistic approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects were eighth-grade students of SMPN 3 Srengat Blitar in the 2023/2024 academic year. The researcher was directly involved in the data collection and analysis process using triangulation techniques to ensure the validity of the findings. The research results show that the implementation of STAD can improve student learning outcomes. Students become more active, motivated, and have a better understanding of the material. The main supporting factors are solid teamwork and the teacher's active role in facilitating learning. Challenges faced include time constraints and students' initial adaptation to the new method. Overall, STAD has proven effective in creating a fun, interactive, and meaningful learning environment for students.

Abstract

This research is motivated because the learning model used is still conventional. Students also lack interest in social studies learning and only rely on LKS books in learning, resulting in students being less active in learning. This study aims to find out the project based learning model has a significant effect on student activity and how much influence the application of the project based learning model has on student activity. This research is a quantitative research with a quasy experimental type. The instruments used are questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The population used is all class VIII. The sample for class VIII-C is the student experimental class and class VIII-D is the control class with 38 students each. The results of this study indicate that: (1) there is a significant influence between the project based learning learning model on student activity with a value of tcount = 16.13 and ttable of 1.991 at a significance level of 5%, namely so that the value of tcount>ttable with an average value of the experimental class is 89 .5 while the control class is 69.5, (2) the magnitude of the influence of the project-based learning model on student activity in obtaining a presentation value of 82% is included in the high category.

Abstract

Educators are highly respected figures in schools because they have a big role in the success of learning. The focus of research in this thesis is (1) What are the factors that influence passive students in social studies learning in class VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Kademangan, Blitar Regency? (2) What are the teacher's efforts to overcome passive students in class VIII social studies learning at SMP Negeri 2 Kademangan, Blitar Regency? The research objectives of this thesis are (1) To explain the factors that influence passive students in social studies learning in class VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Kademangan, Blitar Regency (2) To explain teachers' efforts in overcoming passive students in class VIII social studies learning in junior high schools. Negeri 2 Kademangan Blitar Regency. This research is research using a descriptive qualitative approach. The results obtained from this research are (1) There are two factors that influence passive students in social studies learning in class VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Kademangan Blitar Regency for the 2023/2024 academic year, the first is external factors, namely the family environment and the school environment. The two internal factors are feeling lazy, feeling sleepy, not liking social studies subjects and students' inadequate nutrition. (2) The teacher's efforts to overcome passive students in class VIII social studies learning at SMP Negeri 2 Kademangan Blitar Regency for the 2023/2024 academic year are the first to motivate students with the class VIII social studies teacher always motivating students, using interesting learning methods. group discussions, giving punishments, developing teaching media.

Abstract

This study is interested in uncovering the extent to which parental roles, such as emotional support, involvement in learning activities, and provision of learning facilities, can influence students' intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, as well as creating a conducive learning environment at home. By taking MAN 2 Mojokerto as the object of research, it is hoped that the results of this study can provide a clearer picture of the dynamics of interaction between family and school in shaping student character and achievement.The formulation of the problem obtained by the author is how the influence of the role of parents on student learning motivation at MAN 2 Mojokerto, and how the influence of the role of parents on the student learning environment at MAN 2 Mojokerto. From the formulation of the problem, the author's goal is to determine the effect of the role of parents on the motivation and learning environment of students.The results showed: significantly there is a positive and significant relationship between the role of parents on student motivation and learning environment, and significantly there is an influence between the role of parents on student motivation and learning environment. This is evidenced by the results of simple regression analysis based on the simple regression test results showing a value of 0.001. Based on the decision-making guidelines if the significance value is <0.05, it means that variable X has an effect on variable Y. The conclusion is 0.001> 0.05, which means that variable X has a significant effect on variable Y. Based on the hypothesis, H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected.

Abstract

Student learning attitudes are one of the factors that influence the learning process and student learning outcomes. From the results of these observations, researchers found several research focuses, namely 1). What is the student's learning attitude in understanding the Integrated Social Sciences subject material for class VII at MTs Al Huda Bandung 2). What are the factors that influence students' learning attitudes in understanding social studies subjects in class VII at MTs Al Huda Bandung, 3). How do teachers act in appreciating positive student learning attitudes and overcoming negative student learning attitudes in understanding social studies subjects for class VII at MTs Al Huda Bandung? This research is a type of qualitative research using a case study approach. Data collection tools through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research indicate that the learning attitudes of class VII students at MTs Al Huda Bandung have positive learning attitudes and negative learning attitudes. There are two factors that influence the learning attitudes of class VII students at MTs Al Huda Bandung, namely internal factors (from within the student) and external factors (from outside the student). The teacher's action in appreciating the learning attitudes of class VII students at MTs Al Huda Bandung is to give praise, additional marks and prizes, while to overcome negative learning attitudes, namely by giving advice or punishment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of using an audio-visual learning method based on animated videos on students' interest and learning outcomes in the subject of Economics for 11th-grade students. The research method used is experimental quantitative. The population of this study consists of 11th-grade students at SMAN 1 Sutojayan, with a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments included a questionnaire to measure learning interest and a cognitive achievement test in the form of multiple-choice questions. The data obtained were analyzed using the t-test with SPSS 27.0 for Windows. The objectives of this study are: 1) To determine whether the use of audio-visual learning methods affects students’ learning interest in Economics at SMAN 1 Sutojayan, Blitar Regency, and 2) To determine whether the use of audio-visual learning methods affects students’ learning outcomes in the same subject and class. The data collection method for learning interest used a questionnaire, while learning outcomes were measured using a post-test. The sample consisted of 62 students from a total population of 340 11th-grade students at SMAN 1 Sutojayan. Data processing included validity testing, reliability testing, prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity), and hypothesis testing (t-test), all conducted using SPSS 27.0 for Windows. The research results showed: 1) The use of audio-visual learning methods significantly influences students’ learning interest, as evidenced by the sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05. 2) The use of audio-visual learning methods significantly influences students’ learning outcomes, also evidenced by a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05. Furthermore, the average learning interest score in the experimental class (77.29) was higher than in the control class (64.90), and the average learning outcome score was also higher in the experimental class (80.71) compared to the control class (72.58). Therefore, based on these results, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted.

Abstract

This research is based on the atmosphere and condition of the class during learning which tends to be passive. Students assume that social studies lessons that take place in class are always boring and difficult lessons that affect their learning outcomes. Students who have low learning outcomes tend to be passive during learning. Efforts that can be made to overcome these problems so that learning is no longer boring are to create a pleasant learning atmosphere by using interesting, appropriate and good learning methods, one of which is by using the outdoor learning method. The outdoor learning method is one method that can make students active and enthusiastic in learning which can affect better learning outcomes in cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. The use of the outdoor learning method can improve student learning outcomes in cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. The purpose of this study is (1) To determine the effect of outdoor learning methods on students' learning outcomes in the cognitive aspect of social studies subjects for class VIII at MTs Darissulaimaniyyah Kamulan Durenan Trenggalek (2) To determine the effect of outdoor learning methods on students' learning outcomes in the affective aspect of social studies subjects for class VIII at MTs Darissulaimaniyyah Kamulan Durenan Trenggalek (3) To determine the effect of outdoor learning methods on students' learning outcomes in the psychomotor aspect of social studies subjects for class VIII at MTs Darissulaimaniyyah Kamulan Durenan Trenggalek. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental type (Quasy Experimental Design) and the research design used is a posttest-only control group design. The results of the study indicate that (1) The outdoor learning method has an effect on students' learning outcomes in the cognitive aspect of the social studies subject of class VIII MTs Darissulaimaniyyah Kamulan Durenan Trenggalek. This is evidenced by the Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05, so Ho is rejected, H1 is accepted. (2) The outdoor learning method has an effect on students' learning outcomes in the affective aspect of the social studies subject of class VIII MTs Darissulaimaniyyah Kamulan Durenan Trenggalek. This is evidenced by the Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05, so Ho is rejected, H1 is accepted. Abstract

Education is a fundamental right that must be fought for by every child in the nation, and throughout its development, it continues to undergo innovations and evaluations toward better quality. One educational model that is growing in Indonesia is the boarding school system, which has its own characteristics, advantages, and challenges. This study aims to describe the social studies (IPS) teachers’ strategies in boarding school–based learning, the implementation of IPS learning within the boarding school environment, and the obstacles faced by IPS teachers at MTs Darul Hikmah. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. The study was conducted at Pondok Modern Darul Hikmah Tulungagung, with seventh-grade students as research subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show several factors that influence the low effectiveness of IPS learning in boarding schools, including the dense institutional activity schedule that reduces students’ learning focus, teachers’ limited mastery of the subject matter and classroom management, and the dual curriculum implemented simultaneously within the institution. Efforts to improve IPS learning effectiveness include enhancing teacher discipline when entering and leaving the classroom, utilizing audio-visual learning media, and connecting learning materials with current issues to make the lessons more relevant and engaging. Furthermore, the study reveals several advantages of boarding school–based education, such as fostering students’ independence, developing social awareness, providing deeper religious instruction, and integrating both general and religious education. Thus, IPS learning in boarding schools has the potential to develop more optimally with the support of appropriate learning strategies and more structured institutional management.
