Abstract

The background of this research is the need for teacher innovation in developing digital-based learning media in Indonesian language learning. The research method used is research and development (RD) with the analysis, design, develop, implement, and evaluate (ADDIE) model, which consists of five research stages: analysis, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques are questionnaires, in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation that present the results regarding innovation, features, applications, and the impact of using the benkangen game in learning Indonesian in elementary school. The subjects of this study were 25 teachers from 25 elementary schools, and 66 students from 10 elementary schools in Magelang district and Magelang city. The results showed innovation in the development of game applications based on Magelang local wisdom with game features in the form of puzzles of Magelang culture and local wisdom, Indonesian language learning materials packaged in the form of questions accompanied by the number of points in each answer, and audio that reflects local wisdom in Central Java. The novelty of this research is the development of the benkangen game based on Magelang local wisdom, which still needs to be developed by teachers in Indonesia. Future research needs to explore the innovation of Indonesian language learning games through the latest software.

Abstract

The background of this study lies in the increasing awareness of the Muslim community to return to studying the Qur'an through pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), marked by the rise of tahfizh (Qur'an memorization) programs. The biggest challenge in tahfizh learning is mastering the basics of reading and tajwid (pronunciation rules), which is the absolute key to correct memorization. Therefore, learning management (planning, implementation, and evaluation) becomes a key factor determining the success of students' memorization results. The purpose of this paper is to analyze and compare the tahfizh learning management, covering planning, implementation, and evaluation, in two different institutions: Maahad Tahfizh An Nur (MATAN) Puchong Selangor, Malaysia, and Pondok Pesantren Al Falah Salatiga. This research employs a qualitative method, based on postpositivism, applied to study natural conditions. Data collection techniques were carried out using triangulation (observation, interviews, and documentation), with the results emphasizing meaning over generalization. The findings indicate that the two institutions use different management strategies: MATAN focuses on the Pra-Sabaq, Sabaq, and Manzil system, while Al Falah focuses on Ziyadah, Muroja'ah, Estafet, Tartilan, and Glondongan Exams. Both strategies are proven successful in achieving the students' memorization targets. However, the difference lies in the completion time target: Al Falah aims for a quicker khatam (30 juz completion) at 5 years, compared to MATAN's average of 6 years.

Abstract

This research is This study is motivated by the growing prevalence of mental health problems caused by individuals’ inability to cope with life’s pressures. In this context, the Islamic teaching of gratitude holds significant relevance as a spiritual foundation for maintaining emotional balance. The research aims to contextualize the concept of gratitude derived from the hadiths as understood by Al-Ghazali in Ihya’ Ulumuddin and to examine its relevance to contemporary mental health concepts. The theoretical framework is based on Al-Ghazali’s understanding of gratitude, which consists of three dimensions: knowledge, inner state, and action. Regarding mental health, Al-Ghazali mentions three essential methods of self-development—mujahadah (spiritual struggle), tazkiyatun-nafs (self-purification), and riyadhah (spiritual exercise). This study employs a qualitative approach through library research, utilizing takhrij and dirayah analysis of hadiths related to gratitude found in Al-Ghazali’s works. The analysis is descriptive and analytical, aiming to reveal the conceptual and contextual meanings of gratitude within Al-Ghazali’s intellectual framework. In his view, gratitude is a comprehensive spiritual process that goes beyond verbal expression, requiring the integration of knowledge, inner awareness, and practical deeds as a form of acknowledgment of Allah’s blessings. The findings indicate that Al-Ghazali’s concept of gratitude comprises three main dimensions: knowledge, spiritual state, and practice. These dimensions play a crucial role in developing Islamic mental health by cultivating spiritual awareness, inner peace, and balance between psychological and spiritual aspects. Through tazkiyatun-nafs (self-purification) and riyadhah (spiritual training), individuals are trained to face life’s trials with a positive attitude, avoid despair, and remain conscious that all goodness originates from Allah. Al-Ghazali also asserts that trials are blessings in disguise and should be viewed as opportunities to recognize other forms of divine grace. Thus, his concept of gratitude provides a substantial contribution to the development of an Islamic paradigm of mental health anchored in spiritual and moral values

Abstract

School library management plays a central role in enhancing student literacy at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) level. This community service program aims to optimize the Dipodrono Library as a learning resource center through the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. Unlike conventional assistance, this program focuses on mobilizing internal assets, including the competence of administrative staff, student creativity as literacy mobilizers, and unorganized donated book collections. The program followed the 5D cycle: Discovery, Dream, Define, Design, and Destiny. The results show that systematic library management—including collection classification, aesthetic revitalization of the reading area, and the activation of borrow-and-read programs—successfully increased the average daily student visits by 60%. Synergy in leveraging madrasah assets has proven effective in transforming the library from a mere book storage room into an active and sustainable literacy ecosystem.
