Abstract

Work accidents are unexpected events that can result in property loss and loss of life. Occupational safety and health in health installations are defined as activities to guarantee and protect the safety and health of human resources in health installations, patients, and patient companions so that protection standards are created for workers in health installations to prevent and reduce the risk of these dangers. The research was conducted at the Sumber Asih 1 Bitung Clinic in August – December 2023. Based on data on accidents at the Sumber Asih 1 Bitung clinic last year, there were ten work accidents. This research analyzes factors related to work accidents at the Sumber Asih 1 Bitung clinic in 2023. The method used in this research is the root cause analysis (RCA) method with five why analysis. The data source for this research consisted of 4 workers at the Sumber Asih 1 Bitung clinic. The data collection technique uses the observation method and in-depth interviews, followed by the triangulation method to validate the research results. The research found that the causes of work accidents were environmental factors: Lack of lighting in several clinic areas, slippery floors, and limited movement space. Meanwhile, human factors include unsafe actions, Lack of work safety training, Lack of concentration at work, and Lack of awareness of workers using personal protective equipment. It is necessary to carry out K3 (Occupational Safety and Health) training so that workers know the importance of working safely.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors associated with Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) symptoms in staff workers at the PT. XYZ operational building in 2024. The study was conducted from November 2024 to January 2025 using a quantitative method with a cross-sectional study design. The population in this study was 70 staff workers in 13 workspaces. The sampling technique used was total sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and observations, including SBS symptoms, room temperature, and humidity measurements. The results showed that 48 staff workers (71.6%) experienced SBS symptoms. The Chi-square test results showed no relationship between temperature and humidity with SBS in staff workers at the PT. XYZ Operational Building. In conclusion, there is no relationship between temperature and humidity with SBS in staff workers at the PT. XYZ Operational Building. Suggestions from this study include ensuring the commitment made regarding the improvement of the AC system and consistent room maintenance, implementing policies on the role of HSE, and further research is expected to include variables such as air quality factors, microbiological factors, and chemical factors in the room to detect sources of contamination suspected of being related to SBS.

Abstract

The advancement of information and communication technology, along with post-pandemic changes, has transformed global work structures. Full-remote and hybrid work models remain widely implemented, offering both conveniences and challenges for employees. This study compares the quality of life and performance of full-remote and hybrid employees at Yayasan XYZ, South Jakarta. Using a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design, data were collected from 48 purposively sampled employees via questionnaires. The research results indicate that, based on the average scores obtained, full-remote employees exhibit a higher quality of life in the physical, psychological, and environmental domains, whereas hybrid employees excel in the social domain. The comparative analysis of quality of life revealed no significant differences between these two work models. In terms of performance, hybrid employees demonstrated higher productivity levels than full-remote employees, with an average score of 9.22 for full-remote and 9.64 for hybrid work models. However, the comparative analysis of performance also indicated no statistically significant differences between the two models. In conclusion, while there are variations in the experiences of employees working under full-remote and hybrid models, the comparative analysis confirms that there are no significant differences in terms of quality of life and performance between these two work models. The results of this study are expected to serve as a basis for Yayasan XYZ in formulating optimal work model policies to ensure employee well-being and productivity

Abstract

Abstract

Work accidents in the construction sector are often triggered by workers' risky behavior in using personal protective equipment (PPE). This research aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and supervision and the behavior of using PPE in construction workers. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a cross sectional design. The number of respondents was 50 workers selected through total sampling. Data was collected using questionnaires and observations, then analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The research results showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge and PPE use behavior (p < 0.05) and between supervision and PPE use behavior (p < 0.05). Workers with low knowledge tend to be undisciplined in the use of PPE. Consistent supervision contributes to increased worker discipline. This research confirms that knowledge and supervision influence the behavior of using PPE. Companies need to improve their PPE provision and storage mechanisms, increase the effectiveness of supervision, develop risk-based work procedures according to the type of work, involve senior workers, and enforce administrative sanctions to curb risky behavior and prevent workplace accidents.

Abstract

Welding work on ships carries high risks of health disturbances due to exposure to heat, smoke, chemicals, and poor ergonomic work positions. This study aims to identify potential occupational health hazards among welders working on the MV KAREEM ship at PT. Samudra Marine Indonesia in 2025. The study uses a descriptive observational design with total sampling technique, involving 30 welders. Data were collected through direct observation using observation sheets and documentation in accordance with the welding SOP. The results of the study revealed five categories of health hazards. Physical hazards included excessive heat, noise, and poor lighting. Chemical hazards included welding fumes, metal dust, and toxic gases. Biological hazards arose from exposure to microorganisms in the work environment. Ergonomic hazards were related to awkward posture, prolonged static positions, and manual handling loads. Psychosocial hazards included long working hours, high workload, and conflicts among workers. The findings emphasize that welders are prone to health disturbances due to various risk factors. Preventive measures, including improving the work environment, implementing stricter safety standards, and providing occupational health education, are essential to reduce these risks.
