Abstract

This study aims to develop an Islamic personality model as a psychometric tool to assess creditworthiness as an alternative predictive character analysis for micro businesses. The method designed to formulate the proposed model coded in R Studio uses two approaches. First, we modify Moslem Religiosity Personality Inventory and then frame a structural model based on Partial Least Square. Subsequently, we use the random forest technique to see the model's accuracy. The result shows a valid and reliable model and performs with 89.47 % accuracy with an Area Under Curve -Receiver Operating Characteristic of 90.06 %. This model implies a solution to strengthen the assessment of the character of creditworthiness of a potential micro-business and helps Islamic Financial Institutions to assess prospective micro-business to determine credit risk and pricing.JEL Classification: B41, D81, D87, G21, P43How to Cite:Hardiansyah., Amalia, E., & Hamid, A. Abstract

This study proposes a syirkah model for gold monetization as a product innovation opportunity alternative in Islamic Financial Institutions (IFI) towards bullion bank activity implementation because of Act of Law No. 4 of 2023 about P2SK. A descriptive qualitative approach was used in this study of fiqh literature from Shariah Standard No. 57 on gold trading and its trading control released by the World Gold Council and AAOIFI, as well as Fatwa DSN MUI for Musharakah contract. This study was also validated by semi-structured interviews. To clearly define the originality, we use simulation to present and compare the concept with an existing gold-based pawn contract (Ar-Rahnu). Risk-adjusted calculation to protect the initial value. The result shows that this syirkah model can be an alternative to productive gold investment.

Abstract

The rise of halal fashion in Indonesia has significantly shaped the modest fashion industry and provided a unique platform for women entrepreneurs to thrive. As global demand for modest and ethical fashion increases, Indonesia stands out as a leader, with its halal fashion brands spearheading both local and international markets. This study explores how the growth of Indonesia’s halal fashion industry has empowered women entrepreneurs by fostering economic opportunities, promoting cultural identity, and encouraging entrepreneurial innovation. The primary objective of the study is to assess how these women navigate the complexities of the halal fashion market while driving significant social and economic change. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on Indonesian women entrepreneurs, an underexplored segment in the global halal fashion landscape. While previous studies have examined the growth of halal fashion, few have focused on how women entrepreneurs are leveraging this industry for empowerment and socio-economic advancement. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research draws on secondary data from academic literature, industry reports, and media publications. It focuses on the impact of prominent Indonesian brands, such as Dian Pelangi, Shafira and Ria Miranda, highlighting their role in challenging societal norms and creating inclusive business models. The findings reveal that Indonesian halal fashion brands not only contribute to economic empowerment but also promote gender equality and cultural pride. These women-led businesses are reshaping the global modest fashion industry while providing a framework for future entrepreneurs.

Abstract

This study explores the model of educational waqf management based on blockchain in Indonesia and its impact on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in education (SDG 4). Blockchain can enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in waqf fund management through the use of smart contracts that ensure funds are used according to their intended purpose. However, the implementation of this technology faces key challenges, such as low digital literacy and inadequate technological infrastructure in some regions. This study also highlights the crucial role of the government and Islamic financial institutions in supporting blockchain adoption for waqf management. With clear regulations and proper training, blockchain-based waqf can become an effective tool for more equitable educational development. The implications of this study emphasize the need for enhanced digital literacy, strengthened technological infrastructure, and the development of supportive regulations.

Abstract

As business becomes increasingly complex and dynamic, organizations need to develop effective strategies to achieve their goals. One strategic management tool introduced to address this challenge is the Balanced Scorecard (BSC). The primary challenge in applying the BSC lies in designing and implementing balanced and relevant performance measures. This study, employing qualitative research methods, examines the use of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) as a tool to measure performance in a manufacturing company operating in a workshop-based environment. Through in-depth interviews with stakeholders, including top management, functional managers, employees, and investors, the research uncovers the complexities, requirements, and opportunities associated with implementing the BSC in a workshop environment. The findings highlight the potential of the BSC as an appropriate framework for measuring production, quality, efficiency, and innovation, while also drawing attention to the barriers related to integration with existing management systems, understanding workshop procedures, and adaptation for successful implementation. The results of the study provide critical guidance for decision-makers considering the BSC as a performance measurement tool tailored to meet the needs of the shop floor, with the aim of enhancing operational and strategic performance in manufacturing organizations. Abstract

This study assesses the impact of the 2024 Indonesia Presidential Election quick count results on the stock volatility of politically connected firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. An event study methodology is employed, analyzing four politically affiliated companies—PMMP, TOBA, BRMS, and WIRG—across a six-day event window (T-3 to T+3). A market-adjusted return model calculated abnormal returns (AR) and cumulative abnormal returns (CAAR). The findings reveal a significant market reaction before the event, particularly on T-2, where the average abnormal return (AAR) peaked at 5.82%, mainly driven by PMMP’s strong return of 16.66%. However, the AAR fell sharply to -3.91% on T+3, indicating a market correction. The cumulative abnormal return (CAAR) reached a high of 6.63% on T-2 before declining to 1.48% on T+3. A T-test yielded a p-value of 0.092 at a 10% significance level, showing a statistically weak significance in pre-and post-event returns. While the quick count results impacted stock performance, the market reaction was moderate. This study provides valuable insights for investors, helping them understand the influence of political uncertainty on politically connected firms in emerging markets and make informed investment decisions.
