Abstract

This qualitative literature review synthesizes interdisciplinary research on how employees’ technological sensing capabilities shape generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) capabilities and innovative work behavior. Drawing on dynamic capabilities theory, microfoundations of sensing, and human–AI interaction literature, the review integrates findings from management, information systems, and innovation studies. The synthesis reveals that technological sensing—employees’ ability to identify, interpret, and anticipate emerging technologies—does not directly translate into innovation, but operates through the development of distinct GenAI capabilities. In particular, GenAI evaluation capability consistently emerges as a stronger driver of innovative work behavior than GenAI usage capability alone, as it enables critical judgment, contextualization, and creative recombination of AI-generated outputs. The review further highlights contextual moderators such as leadership support, task complexity, and organizational climate. Overall, the study advances theory by positioning individual sensing as a microfoundation of AI-enabled innovation and offers implications for organizations seeking to leverage GenAI beyond efficiency gains.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies has fundamentally transformed organizational leadership, innovation, and strategic management practices. This study conducts a qualitative Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to synthesize existing evidence on the relationships among transformational leadership, innovation capability, management accounting systems (MAS), and sustainable firm performance in the digital business environment. Following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, peer reviewed articles published in internationally recognized journals were systematically identified, screened, and synthesized. The review reveals that transformational leadership contributes to sustainable firm performance primarily through strengthening innovation capability and promoting the strategic use of management accounting systems rather than through direct effects. Innovation capability enhances organizational adaptability, knowledge sharing, and value creation, while advanced MAS supports strategic decision making and organizational control. The findings further indicate that integrating transformational leadership, digital transformation, innovation capability, and strategic management accounting enables organizations to achieve long-term competitiveness and sustainability. This review provides theoretical insights and practical implications for future leadership and digital business research.

Abstract

This study systematically reviews the integration of Environmental Management Control Systems (EMCS) and blockchain technology and their combined impact on environmental performance and corporate reputation. Using a qualitative systematic literature review approach, this research synthesizes prior studies published up to 2024 to identify key themes, theoretical perspectives, and empirical findings. The results indicate that EMCS plays a critical role in guiding organizational environmental strategies through monitoring, performance evaluation, and accountability mechanisms, while blockchain enhances transparency, traceability, and data integrity in environmental reporting. The synergy between EMCS and blockchain adoption is found to significantly improve environmental performance by reducing information asymmetry and strengthening stakeholder trust. Furthermore, organizations that integrate these systems tend to achieve enhanced reputational outcomes due to increased credibility and sustainability disclosure reliability. However, challenges such as implementation costs, technological complexity, and regulatory uncertainty remain significant barriers.

Abstract

This study presents a systematic qualitative literature review examining the transition from leadership to entrepreneurship in sustainability, with a focus on key drivers, outcomes, and governance mechanisms. Drawing on a structured synthesis of peer reviewed articles, the review identifies leadership capabilities such as visionary thinking, ethical orientation, and stakeholder engagement as critical drivers that foster sustainable entrepreneurial initiatives. The findings reveal that sustainability oriented entrepreneurship contributes to enhanced environmental performance, social value creation, and long term organizational resilience. Additionally, governance mechanisms, including regulatory frameworks, institutional support, and corporate governance structures, play a pivotal role in shaping and sustaining these transitions. The review also highlights the dynamic interplay between individual leadership attributes and broader institutional contexts in influencing sustainable entrepreneurship outcomes. Overall, this study contributes to the growing body of knowledge by integrating fragmented insights into a comprehensive framework, offering implications for policymakers, practitioners, and future research in sustainability and entrepreneurship.
