Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of athletes and coaches in managing nutritional strategies based on extra food loading to support the performance and recovery of athletes in leading martial arts in Mataram City. The background of this activity is the low practical understanding of the importance of structured nutritional intake in supporting physical abilities, endurance, and physiological adaptation of athletes, especially female athletes who face hormonal challenges, menstrual cycles, and the risk of Female Athlete Triad (FAT). The implementation of this activity was carried out through an educational approach that included training, nutritional consultations, and demonstrations of post-exercise nutritional interventions. The material presented covered the importance of proper nutritional intake, such as high-quality protein, vitamin D, and iron, as well as the implementation of energy recovery strategies after intensive training. The method used was a Focus Group Discussion (FGD), which involved athletes and coaches to dig deeper into the challenges faced in terms of fulfilling nutritional needs and understanding the influence of physiological cycles on the performance of female athletes, especially female athletes who face the risk of Female Athlete Triad (FAT). The results of this activity showed an increase in the understanding of coaches and athletes regarding specific nutritional needs, as well as the implementation of extra food loading strategies to maximize performance and recovery. This program not only provides short-term benefits in the form of increased knowledge but also builds collective awareness of the importance of nutritional literacy in athlete development.

Abstract

The accuracy of the smash is an important indicator of badminton performance because it determines the effectiveness of attacks, the ability to pressure the opponent, and the chances of earning points. This study was compiled based on the premise that the improvement of smash accuracy depends not only on the ability to hit the shuttlecock strongly, but also on training methods that are able to form technique consistency, movement response, and the ability to direct the punch to the target area. The purpose of this study was to analyze the change in the accuracy of students' smash after being given the training treatment and to compare the final achievement between the drill smash training group and the multishuttle play method group. The study used a quantitative approach with a design of two pretest-posttest groups. The research subjects amounted to 21 extracurricular badminton students, consisting of 10 students in group 1 and 11 students in group 2. Data was collected through smash precision tests before and after treatment. The results of descriptive statistics show that the total pretest score of 300 increased to 336 in the posttest. The average score also increased from 14.2857 to 16.0000, with a decrease in standard deviation from 1.52128 to 1.30384. These results show a tendency to improve overall smash accuracy after the training treatment. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test showed that the pretest data in both groups were normally distributed, while the posttest data were not normally distributed. Posttest comparison showed that group 2 obtained an average higher than group 1, which was 16.2727 compared to 15.7000. However, the effect size showed Cohen's d of -0.439 with a 95% confidence interval from -1.301 to 0.434, so the differences between groups could not be statistically strong. Thus, the hypothesis that exercises improve smash accuracy is supported descriptively, but the superiority of either method needs to be further tested with a more complete inferential analysis.   Keywords: Precision Smash; Drill Smash; Multishuttle; Badminton; Pretest-Posttest.

Abstract

Learning motivation is one of the important psychological factors that determine student involvement in physical education learning. This motivation is not only influenced by the motivation that comes from within the students, but also by the support of the learning environment that shapes their experience during the learning process. This study aims to analyze the influence of internal factors and external factors on students' learning motivation in physical education learning, by emphasizing its empirical contribution to the learning context of physical education in secondary schools. The research uses a quantitative approach with a correlation-predictive design. The research sample amounted to 40 students in grade XI of SMA Negeri 1 Kuripan. The research instrument was in the form of questionnaires of internal factors, external factors, and learning motivation. Data were analyzed using prerequisite tests and multiple linear regression. The results of the study show that all data meet the assumptions of normality, linearity, and do not experience multicollinearity, so the regression model is feasible to explain the predictive relationship between variables. The results of multiple linear regression showed an R value of .813, R Square of .661, and Adjusted R Square of .643, which means that internal and external factors together explain 66.1% of the variation in student learning motivation. The simultaneous test yielded an F value of 36,076 with a significance of <,001. Partially, internal factors had a positive and significant effect on learning motivation with a coefficient of .413, beta .480, t = 3.698, and p < .001, while external factors also had a positive and significant effect with coefficients of .401, beta .408, t = 3.144, and p = .003. These findings suggest that internal factors are relatively stronger predictors than external factors. Thus, the research hypothesis is accepted. This study confirms that strengthening confidence, interests, learning needs, teacher support, facilities, and learning environment need to be integrated into physical education learning strategies to increase students' motivation to learn more effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI) and cardiovascular fitness levels among students at SMP IT Darul Wahdah Gerung in 2025. A quantitative approach with a correlational research design was employed. Data were collected by measuring students’ body weight and height to calculate BMI, as well as administering the 12-minute Cooper test to assess cardiovascular fitness levels. Pearson’s correlation test was used for data analysis. The results revealed that; (1) there was a significant relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI) and students’ cardiovascular fitness levels, as indicated by a correlation coefficient of −0.689 and a significance value of 0.005 (p < 0.05). Therefore, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H₁) was accepted. (2) The negative correlation coefficient indicates a significant inverse relationship, meaning that higher BMI values are associated with lower cardiovascular fitness levels, and vice versa.

Abstract

This observational study with a cross-sectional design analyzed the effect of injury management knowledge levels on injury incidence among 108 Undikma Physical Education student athletes selected via purposive sampling. Using a Guttman scale questionnaire and injury history, the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Chi-square test, the t-test, and multivariate logistic regression. Descriptive results showed a very high injury incidence rate of 90.7% (mostly minor injuries), with an average knowledge score of 19.2 ± 2.8 on a 25-point scale. Bivariate analysis detected significant associations between educational history (p=0.048) and knowledge scores (p=0.002) and injury incidence. Furthermore, the final logistic regression model confirmed that educational history (OR=3.330; 95% CI: 1.026–10.803) and higher knowledge scores (OR=0.750; 95% CI: 0.610–0.922) acted as significant independent protective factors in reducing the risk of injury. Based on these findings, it is concluded that good understanding and exposure to effective education minimize the incidence of injuries among student-athletes; therefore, the implementation of a comprehensive and easily accessible injury management education program is a crucial recommendation that must be realized immediately.

Abstract

functions (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, And Controlling) on the performance of karate athletes at Dojo Sangkareang 93, East Lombok. The study used a descriptive quantitative approach involving 50 respondents (5 coaches and 45 senior athletes) as a saturated sample. Data were collected through a closed questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability (α = 0.848), then analyzed using correlation,Pearson Product Moment, multiple correlation, and F test. The results of the study showed that the four management functions were in the very good category. Partially, planning (r = 0.655), organizing (r = 0.631), and supervision (r = 0.638) each had a strong relationship with achievement, while motivating showed a moderate relationship (r = 0.457). Simultaneously, the four management functions had a strong and significant relationship with athlete achievement (R = 0.775; F = 15.040; Sig. 0.001), with a contribution of 60.1% to athlete achievement. This finding confirms that effective achievement coaching is the result of synergy between management functions, with planning as the most determining element.
